So I responded to another post, but thought I'd introduce myself here. I have not made it public knowledge that I'm TTC, except to mention it to a dear friend of mine who had issues getting pregnant in the past, and is now currently pregnant.

My name is Gwenn and I was recently re-married. I am 36 years old and  I had one tubal pregnancy in my 20's, but, thankfully, did not ruin my tubes. Other than that, I have never had any other pregnancy scares and honestly, have thought for years that I couldn't get pregnant. Last Tuesday I had surgery for endometriosis, which is mild. During the surgery, they ran the dye through my tubes and they are not blocked. Very good news! I actually started taking prenatal vitamins at the beginning of November. I am still on the Nuvaring through the end of this cycle, which is in about 2 weeks and I will also have my post-op visit. I may finish my last Nuvaring and then start trying, even though some say it may take several months for the body to start ovulating on its own. I've pretty much said that I'm not really willing to go through a bunch of infertility treatments because of the money, but I am willing to do hormone testing and my DH is willing to do sperm testing.

So I will see what my doctor has to say on the 11th and go from there!

How exciting for you, glad that you had good results with your surgery. It sounds like your chances are pretty good, did the doctor say you had to wait any amount of time before TTC? I wonder if Nuvaring would be the same as other birth control methods? It took me a few months after coming off the pill before my body felt normal again. Keep us posted on your appointment, good luck!

Thank you so much! I'm thinking Nuvaring is pretty much like other BC methods, so you are probably right. I've read that it can take up to 6 weeks to feel fully healed after this procedure that I've had, so I will see what he tells me on the 11th as far as what to expect and/or when I can start trying.

Hi Zerlina, welcome to the board! It sounds like you have a really good shot when you start TTC, and glad to here that your DH is on board for testing. That can always be a tough issue for men, it sounds like you've got all your ducks in a row. How are you feeling after your surgery?

I'm doing pretty well. Had my post op last week and I got the good to go on everything, but he did want me to use at least one more Nuvaring before I stopped. I did start my period yesterday, which was the first one after the surgery, and boy was that awful and painful. I've read that it takes one to two periods before you feel more normal after these. So I'm really hoping it was only this one! So I'm going to follow his instruction and see where things go after this. He did say that if I wasn't pregnant by July, that I should come back and see him so he could refer me to a specialist since I am in the older bracket, although some would say I'm not. :) I will certainly come back to the board again. Sorry it might be a little bit but nice to know you are all here.

That sounds painful :( I hope the next one isn't as bad. Keep us posted when you can!
