Awww, I'm sure he'll be just as excited about a ginormous mountain baby bump! I went to a stand-up comedian last weekend and he was talking about his wife who is very pg right now. He was saying how proud that he was and how he never knew how happy he'd be to say he knocked up his wife. He had a few other choice things thrown in there as well...it is a comedy show after all. Like how he never imagined the power his penis could have... I just hope my DH is just as excited to know that I'm carrying his child and admiring the baby bump...and the stretch marks and weight gain...he better like it all!

thanks so much for your thoughts, but i'm not too concerned. DH was talking last night about looking into IVF. i told him we have a lot of other options to explore before we have to think about that. he's gone quickly from wanting to just let it happen naturally to wanting to do whatever it takes to get me knocked up already. last night he got a little teary-eyed when he was talking about wanting to see me with a cute baby bump. hope he's as excited about a ginormous baby mountain filled with stretch marks as he is about a cute little bump! ;)

Is that the only option of places you can take it? I was almost ready to look up the link Shana gave me so that I could get the condoms that are for collection. DH did NOT want to do it there which was one of the options at the office. They luckily said we could choose another lab and gave some suggestions for places in town that do them and allow drop offs. It may be worth asking if you can drop it off somewhere else, unless you can't for insurance reasons. There's no reason they can't fax the results from a lab to your doctor's office.

i'm trying to get DH geared up and ready to do this. i didn't push it too hard this last cycle, hoping i would get preggo after the HSG. i didn't. so if i don't get preggo this cycle, he's gonna have to go in to do his SA. sounds like some of you got to do it at home, but the place we're being sent to doesn't allow drop offs. poor, poor DH. after i did an HSG, though, i'd trade places with him any day!

Thanks Shana, I may have to look into this is he continues to drag his feet. He had promised to do it Tuesday when I was at work...I came home and the cup was still sitting there. I haven't mentioned it for a few days, but AF is due any day and I've started spotting, and temp dropped this morning. I'm just hopeful that he does it sooner rather than later.

I haven't run into that yet but I'm sure my days of DH cooperating is numbered :) Hopefully you guys get on track to your BFP very soon, no matter the obstacles it takes before you get there!!

I had to giggle to myself thinking about all the times my DH has done SA's. Wow, probably more than he needed too LOL BUT, I do remember the first time he had to do it. My lab is really specific so we actually had to have the sample there at a specific time. The wonderful thing about SA's is, you can

Oh, I know that's frustrating! We just went into the lab yesterday for J's SA. I don't know what's going through your husband's head, but I know J is pretty anxious about the whole thing. He's not the kind of guy who's always dreamed of being a dad--the decision to TTC was a long, hard one for us--but it's still really hard for him to think about the possibility of something being wrong ... it's hard to shake the thought that infertility would make him "less of a man." Maybe your husband is having some anxiety about the whole thing, too?

In terms of timing, they told us yesterday we'd have results back in 2-3 days.

Oh girl - I know just what you mean! DH can be pretty frustrating over here as well - def. not as 'in the zone' as I am sometimes about getting things accomplished. When DH had to do it, I told him (ok, fibbed) that it was due by a certain date at a certain time and that if it was not there on time, they were going to charge us an extra fee. Is that awful?! I made it a time I'd be at work so when I left in the morning, I put a picture of me next to the cup. HAHAHA! Oddly enough, when I got home - there was a porno in place of where my picture was - WTH?! lol :smileywink:
