I think it depends on the doctor as far as when they do the early ultrasound. When I was pregnant with my first TR baby, my doctor had me come in to have my beta HCG levels check. Once they were over 2000, they did the ultrasound. I was almost 5 weeks along when they did it and all they saw was the sac in the uterus, which was all I really wanted to know at that point. Then they did another ultrasound around 9 weeks to confirm it was a viable pregnancy since they couldn't confirm that at the earlier ultrasound.

I'm not sure what they will do this time around because I'm going to a different doctor now. I have an intake appointment this week and we will discuss everything then and go over all of my history. I'll find out then when/if they are going to do the early ultrasound as well.

The earlier they check for the location, thebetter.

I hope I am not being too nosy, but did you find a difference in your pre TR baby and post TR?

I didn't notice any differences. I understand feeling like a nervous wreck though. I chalked that up to being older and wiser. When I had my first, I was 20 and clueless about all the things that can happen in pregnancy. When I had my second (first TR baby), I knew a lot more and worried about a lot more. Sometimes I wish I could be clueless again so I can not worry so much!

Unfortunately my Hcg numbers dropped dramatically and I will miscarry.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You are right that at least you know the surgery was a success! I hope you get a BFP when you start trying again!

The doctor I am seeing now isn't doing any beta levels for me. Instead, they scheduled me for an ultrasound in a few weeks. They said if I start having any pain to call, but otherwise, they'd rather wait until we can see more than just a gestational sac. I can understand that, but I'm a bit disappointed that I have to wait so long to know anything.
