I could have written this post, lol. Same situation almost exactly. I was regretting the V almost immediatly and started asking for a reversal when dd was abot a year old. I got the same answer. "We shold be happy with the three we have" and just flat out "NO". But finally he agreed after about two years of my pleading. I think he realized how very important it was to me. Like pp said, 4 1/2 years is a great thing too! Good luck to you!

Its been 4 years since our reversal and I've got to tell you that 4 years is nothing for the type of amazing surgeries the doctors can perform. I have three kids, ages 4, 5, and 7 years old. Recently, my sister-in-law had a baby and I caught the baby bug again. I immediately proposed the idea of an adoption, since we adopted our second child from my sister-in-law, but once I looked at the prices and process, I was overwhelmed. Then I proposed the idea of a reversal as a cheaper solution to adoption, since it would cost about 1/7th of the cost. DH was not happy about it at first and felt very strongly that he didn't want anybody "cutting in that area again". He literally thought I was crazy. After a few months of bothering him about having the surgery, he's on board. Mind you, he doesn't want to know any technical aspects of what the doctor will be doing but he is excited about the possibility of more children. My mother-in-law thinks its a fabulous idea and is very excited for us, which is strange because she's actually the one who proposed the original vasectomy idea. My mom tells me that we should stop because we've been blessed with three beautiful healthy children already. But for me, I wish to have 2 more, hopefully a couple more girls. But I'm not picky, I'll love them no matter what.

Many of the doctors mentioned by a PP have extremely high patency rates. Do some research on the doctors above and present the technical information of what they do to your husband. There's been some very amazing medical techniques developed in the past 10-20 years that just astounded me.

I wish you good luck!

I'd say to just keep talking about it now and then. That's what I did with my dh...he was VERY against it, but over time he came around....it took about 1-1.5 years...be patient and keep talking...
