Sometimes I secretly hope the vasectomy reverses itself

I would never admit this to my husband but sometimes I find myself hoping that the vasectomy "unties" (reverses) itself naturally. And then I instantly feel guilty for thinking that! But it's been 10 years since his vasectomy and with both my kids in their tween & teen years, I find myself wanting a little one again. Is there more of a chance of a vasectomy failing the more time passes? Or is it just as likely (or unlikely) that a vasectomy will fail, regardless of how "new" it is?

First & foremost, talk to your husband. Maybe he's had the same "wants". If that isn't for both of you, offer to babysit for a friend or neighbor so they can have a date night. That way you can get your "fix" without the full-time commitment. Or check into fostering a young child. There are plenty of kids that need places and people to love them. Good luck to you!

Anything is possible; unfortunately, it is not likely. And with the passage of time, it becomes more and more unlikely. I'm sorry; I know how the heart can yearn for another child. (((hugs)))
