Could he possibly call his doctor for more specific numbers? I personally would if I was him.

I hope you guys get your BFP soon. How long ago was his VR? Have you had any testing done?

His VR was done in August of 2010. We've done 10 cycles, but are now taking a few off. I suggested that he call and get details, but honestly, I don't think he wants to. He got the sample analyzed off base and then the results were sent to the clinic. With the way things are run here I'd be surprised if they still have his results. Also, he'd have to speak with several people about sperm, and he's just squeamish about it. I'm lucky I got him in to get a sample at all.
I should get tested, but again, the tricare system makes it hard. I'd have to go to my GP and convince him that I needed to see a specialist and then I'd have to get Tricare approval. Since I'm not yet at the 1 year mark I just don't think that will happen. We're doing some soul searching right now to see what we want to do about it.

Yeah, I know Tricare can be a pain and I know what you mean about your DH not wanting to ask anyone about sperm. We have Tricare as well. Do you have to have your GP refer you for reproductive stuff though or could your OB/GYN do that? What about asking your OB/GYN just to test your hormones to see if you are ovulating. They should be able to order those without having to send you to a reproductive specialists right away. In addition to checkin your hormones, you might want to have your thryroid checked as well because some women that have trouble conceiving also have thyroid issues. Just something to think about. Good luck.

Yeah, I have to get a GP referral every time I visit a dr off base. I was going to talk to the obgyn during the annual, but I was told that you can not ask any questions while you are there, that you have to have a separate appointment for each issue. I might just try to get an appointment with my GP about the hormone/ thyroid issue. It is troubling from a health perspective.

That sounds really crappy. I can't imagine not being able to ask your doctor any questions while you are there for your annual. I've never had that problem before. My annual was when I actually talked to my OBGYN about having my tubal reversal set up and they immediately started ordering tests (and Tricare paid for all the testing). Weird, maybe it's because of where you are located. I know some places are tougher than others. Good luck!

It took us 14 months from the date of VR to pregnancy...I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Ask for an anti-sperm anti-body test. If the immune system is exposed to semen during the reversal, he may have developed an immune responce to his own semen. Took us 6 years after reversal to get that to go away. The test cost us about $180 out of pocket 4 years ago.
