Suzie's take on it is certainly valid, and many parents take that route. Especially if the child is well on his or her way to being trained (as it sounds like Greyson is). For lots of kids, a pull-up just feels like a regular old diaper.

Another school of thought is to only use underwear full-time when the child has some consistency with using the potty. The underwear should be a source of confidence and sign of being a "big kid," not just another place to have one accident after another.

We did a little of both. With Fletcher, we waited until he was consistent to go out of the house in underwear, but for him, it was only a few days! With Jonah, we put him in underwear during the day as soon as we made the decision to send him to preschool this fall. Two weeks before preschool we just said okay we're going all the way! He's never had accidents out of the house, but we are still struggling at home eight months later.

Thanks ladies for your kind words. I was very close with my uncle as a child but after moving away not so much. I don't think David even remembers him as the last time we saw him was thanksgiving. My dh is feeling guilty we didn't go there to see him but we had no idea this was coming. We knew he had a bad heart and recently kidneys but the doctors were saying he was ok. He was born with a bad heart so not sure what caused it. Maybe a combination.of the two.

Andi, yay for English majors!!! So THAT's why your blog is so good. ;) I agree with Christine, your blog is such a fun read.

Emmy, I'm excited that you are planning for baby #2. Juliet is gorgeous...you need to make more cuties!!!

Sandy, I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your uncle. I have an uncle who is very special to me. I can't imagine losing him.

AFM: Last night, my MOPS group hosted their annual "MOPS and Pops Date Night." It was so much fun! For only $20/couple, we were provided with childcare, a catered BBQ dinner (delicious!!), and live music. The band was sort of a southern rock/country band, and they were really, really good. And the dessert...oh. my. goodness. Yum. There were many to choose from. I had a small piece of key lime pie and a big peanut butter cup brownie. We ended up taking Charlotte along, although the boys did go to the childcare provided by the church. I debated and debated about taking Charlotte or not. I knew she would be well cared for (they had one volunteer per baby!), but she has never been away from DH or me. I was afraid that she would be upset, and the ladies in the nursery wouldn't call me because they didn't want to interrupt us. I just knew I would have more fun without worrying about her, and I was definitely right! We had a blast. It felt so good to get dressed up and hang out with DH and some new friends.

Sandy - So sorry to hear about your uncle passing. Safe travels back home.

Emmy - Woohoo for TTC time! This summer is going to be a busy one around here with all of us TTC #2 in just a few short months. A nice score on the vacation! I wish my ILs would take us some where. ;-)

Sarah - Forgot to mention awhile back the story about Desmond and the fire truck is just too cute! He is going to do so great in KG. I have some KGers that still can't recognize letters and we have less than two months of school left! Des is going to be way ahead of the game.

Andi - Been trying to read your blog during the week while I eat my breakfast. You sure do have a way with words and make me LOL nearly every day. :-)

Waving *HI* to everyone else! Happy last weekend of April!

See, and because I was an English major and am a classic name-spelling snob, I almost went with Juliet (Romeo & Juliet, not Juliette!)

o\It's funny, Andi, I think the name looks prettier with the extra "te," and I thought about spelling it that way.

Sandy - I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Emmy - YAY for TTC #2!!! And a vacation in the same year? 2012 is shaping up to be pretty awesome for you! That's amazing that Juliet knows how to get a tissue and blow her own nose!

This is a quick post but just wanted to let you ladies know that my uncle passed away this morning. I guess he died in his sleep. He had been having heart and kidney problems. Havent heard of what the cause was yet. So we'll be heading to Ohio most likely tomorrow and the funeral will be on Monday. David probably doesn't remember him becuase the last time we saw him was for David's birthday when we went to visit Thanksgiving weekend.

My DH and I are going out tonight though. He won an award through work and until we know the details it's crazy to cancel our plans for tonight and just sit home. We didn't want to leave too early until we knew when the funeral was. Anyway this news makes me want to start TTC even sooner. But probably just my emotions getting in the way. We'll see if DH agrees or not.
