I am so horrible at keeping up with everything around here...sorry for being MIA, but I do read most of the posts. Everyone's LOs are getting so big and are adorable.

William turned 9 months on 7/23 and promptly started taking two or three steps at a time. He is now up to 5-6 steps at a time. Very, very wobbly, but oh so cute. He is constantly babbling- he says dada, mama and every time he sees a stuffed dog or my parents dog he says duh. William will be off no time at all.

I've been reading but can't keep up enough to do personals. I do love reading about how everyone's babies are doing!

Sandy- Just wanted to put in my 2 cents about TTC #2... DH and I waited until we were 30 to have DS#1, and I was the one to bring up starting to TTC. If I left it up to him, God knows when or if we'd even have kids by now. Same with TTC#2, if I hadn't brought it up and had the timetable in mind, we wouldn't have DS#2! If we'd waited until we had paid bills off, we would have zero kids. My point is that the financial things are important to consider, but you pretty much have to take the plunge. Having #2 isn't quite as hard on the pocketbook as #1, because you have everything you need already (carseats, bouncer, toys, etc... if you had a girl you'd just need clothes for her) Your concerns about your age are very valid though. Women usually tend to plan way ahead, and men don't like to think of things years away, KWIM? Give him some time and then bring it up again and see what he says. I know it is hard though when you have baby fever and your guy just doesn't get it.

AFM- Ethan is 4 months tomorrow, wow! He just got over having some virus or something that caused a fever for a day or so, reduced appetite, being cranky, and sleeping poorly. When I say reduced appetite, I mean he usually has 30 oz a day (six 5-oz bottles) and the one day when the fever started he had 17 oz all day. :( But gradually he got better after we saw the doc and ruled out an ear infection and all.

For those moms with 2 or more, I find this so true... my mom pointed out that with baby #1, you anticipate everything coming up, like the first smile, holding their head up, rolling over, starting solids... and with #2, those same things just all of the sudden come up without you realizing it! I bought a box of rice cereal today to start him on it within a few days here, and realized that he'll soon be using DS#1's high chair for meals with the rest of us! Yikes!

Julie- It's not the fact I have baby fever now, I"m just trying to plan ahead. My son isn't sleeping through the night and he's still a baby so I'm not even really thinking about it. I'm just trying to avoid the fights we had before David. I ended up waiting almost 2 yrs before he was ready and a lot was financial that time. I think right now isn't the best time as we were living the same was as before our son and we just need to realize we can't and have to cut back. Plus my dh had screwed up our checking acct so it probably wasn't the best time either. Also, he is now on formula and baby food which isn't cheap so it's taking a bite into our budget. I can't wait until he starts eating real food as it's not so expensive. Our friends are expecting #2 in January so hoping that will help things along like it did when they had #1. I have my annual next month so will talk to my OB about the age thing and then bring it up to him.

I'm not going to pressure him like before as it just ended up turning ugly and I don't want that again. I know he wants a second but I think men just get worried about finances. And I keep telling him you can never really afford them but we will just work as getting as much of our debt down as we can before we have the second one.

I will just occasionally casually mention #2 and hopefully he'll get the hint. He did say we'd talk about it in a year so if we haven't by a year from now I'll bring it up and we'll have a serious talk. I can wait a little while longer but I don't want David to be too much older than 3 1/2 when we have another. I would ideally like 3 years apart or a little less than 3. Anyway I am going to let it go b/c you are all probably sick of hearing about it now and I will let you know if we make any progress down the road and hopefully we'll still be TTC in December 2011 or shortly thereafter.

I know he's thinking of trying to find a new job that is paying more before then but we'll see what happens.

Amy- Good for Jensen's tooth. I wish David would get a tooth already. he's been teething since 5 months and drools through outfits and bibs constantly. The poor thing is hurting a lot too. Hoping it comes soon.

Well today is David's 8 mo birthday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Before I know it he'll be a year.

Hi ladies! It’s time for me to join back in, and I figured this is a fresh thread to join in on.

Amos Jr is 4 months old now. He is 18 lbs, 11 oz and 27 ½ inches. He’s huge! He’s rolling over both ways now and prefers to sleep on his belly. I put him down on his back and he rolls right over and sticks his little butt in the air! He’s scooting a little on the floor – he’s made it a few inches. I hope I have a little more time before he starts crawling! We’re having some sleep issues right now, but hopefully we get back on track soon. My DH was transferred with his job in the middle of June. We are living in an apartment here while we are waiting for our house at home to sell. Things are tough, but we’re working through it. We are NPP right now, and will probably actively TTC again after the first of the year.

Adrienne – Will you add me to the front page, please? Thanks!

Amy – I hope your cycle straightens out soon, especially since you plan to TTC again soon. Congrats to Jensen on his first tooth!

Sandy – If I were in your shoes, I would probably shelve the TTC topic with your DH for a few months. You will still have plenty of time before your goal start date, and maybe he won’t feel pressured. I understand your dilemma, though, as I am a planner, too. The cost for Catholic schools is getting ridiculous. That was our original plan, but now we’re starting to think about home-schooling.

Cassie – That’s great that Simon is eating such a variety! Good for you and him. And he’s mobile now – congrats!!

Ella – Congrats on Eliza crawling too!

Christine – (((HUGS))) Hopefully Selin will just take a few days to adjust. Is she doing any better now?

Ash – I’m so jealous of your sleep! I bought the book you recommended yesterday, but I haven’t had a chance to dive in yet. It sounds like Teddy is doing great!

Elyse – Congrats on William walking and talking! They grow up so fast…

Julie – I’m glad Ethan is feeling better! Poor guy.

I just wanted to post that David crawled today. He had been working on it for awhile. He didn't go far and he still wants to just reach for things. But I even got it on video. Here is the link.

http://www.youtube.com/jcrundwell

Also my DH brought up a good thing today about TTC. David was standing on him and he said don't stand on that or you might not have a brother or sister. So glad he's mentioning it. I know he wants another but he's just concerned like all men are.

hi everyone.

it's been such a long time. i try to look in from time to time, but TBH, i'm so fricking busy i never have the time to post. tad is four months old now. i can't believe it. on the 23rd of this month it will be six months since this nightmare started.

i'm so blessed to have our little boy. i don't know what i'd do without him. he's getting so big. grabbing toys, babbling, rolling over and over and over, trying to sit up on his own. he's 14lb9oz now (50th percentile) and 26" (85th percentile), so a tall skinny baby. taking after his daddy in so many ways. he has his upper lip and crooked smile, long feet, dual frown lines (one for each eyebrow), "girly" hands, smiling blue eyes. and causing me trouble, lol. i think he's started teething. the drooling, the chewing, the fussiness. and my doctor has warned me that he will be drooling, chewing, and fussing for months before i ever see a tooth poke through. awesome.

anyway, that's my update for now. i'll try not to be such a stranger in the future. now i have to go and actually read the thread, lol.

Amy- I can't believe that Jensen is almost 7 months old. The time really does go by so fast. Yay for his first tooth!!

Sandy- Yay for David starting to crawl. You must be one tired Momma when you get home from those long days. I bet those half days on Fridays are really nice for you.

Cassie- It sounds like Simon is doing great. That must be so neat watching him try all the news foods. He is such a handsome little boy :)

Ella- Yay for Eliza crawling. I bet you are one proud Momma :)

Christine- I am glad that your first day back wasn't as hard on you as you thought it would be. I am sure that Selin will get better as she gets adjusted to her new schedule. Hang in there.

Ash- That is awesome that Theo is sleeping in longer stretches for you. You must feel like a brand new person now. I am thinking of starting Luke on solids soon. We have been giving him rice cereal but that is it so far. He laughs the whole entire time he eats it. It's to cute :)

Elyse- It is so nice to see you post. I can't believe William is 9 months old now. Yay for him starting to walk and talking :)

Julie- Poor Ethan, I am glad that he is feeling better now. Luke is just getting over something similar. I can't believe our boys are 4 months old now.

Natalie- It is great to see you over here. Amos Jr is so cute. What a big boy, LOL. I am guessing Luke is about 14 or 15 lbs maybe. We go to the doctors tomorrow so we will find out then. I hope he starts sleeping better for you soon.

AFM- Luke has his 4 month apt tomorrow. Hopefully it goes well, last time the shots didn't seem to bother him so let's hope the same goes for this time. I am thinking he is around 14lbs. He hasn't rolled over yet. He still hates tummy time. He will go from his back to his side though, he is getting really close to rolling over. I am sure it will be anytime now.

Tomorrow I go for my dating u/s at 2pm. I am hoping all is well, but I am nervous just like last time. I am really curious to know when my EDD is. The doctor gave me a prescription for Prozac to start taking for my anxiety. She said it could take a month before I notice a difference. Hopefully it will help. I hate taking meds while I am pregnant, but I really think it is for the best.

Ugh where does the time go? I'm going to attempt some personals by memory, I know I wont get everybody.

Ash,

Yay for solids and sleeping for longer stretches...I'm sure you feel like a new woman after your first few months with Theo!

Carly,

So glad to hear from you. Tad sounds like a happy little boy! I think of you often, hope you come around more often.

Christine,

Sorry for the feeding issues....I've heard that many babies reverse cycle when mom is working. Maybe just print this link for your in-laws to read about how normal Selin is actually behaving and that you arent starving your baby. Otherwise, try your hardest to ignore them. My in-laws chatter a lot but I've learned to tune them out when they try to offer "advice." I'm sure Selin will adjust soon http://www.kellymom.com/bf/normal/reverse-cycling.html Good luck!

Sandy,

Good luck discussing TTC #2 with DH...sounds totally normal for men to be concerned with money.

Elyse,

Thats awesome about the walking and talking! Go William Go!!

AFM,

Like I said, where does the time go? Lets see...Maxim was not a happy camper last week after his second needle...brutal. I think he's hitting his 3 month growth spurt this week...all he wants to do is eat and his nightly sleep is screwed up. Since he was about 7 weeks old, he's been sleeping from 10:30-11pm-5am or 6ish every night, sometimes 7am so I was getting spoiled. Last night he was up at 3am and then again at 7am. He also cried for 3.5 straight hours yesterday despite me doing everything I could think of...and then again for another 2 hours with DH in the evening. Today was much much better in the fussiness thing but still eating more frequently. I was so worn out yesterday....I had to get a few things from the grocery store and I bought some wine, two giant chocolate eclairs (one for DH, I cant eat both, lol) and pink roses for myself just to cheer myself up. It worked, thank god.

Next week we are going to be driving 19 hours to get home to see my parents. My 10 year reunion is next weekend and then we'll be doing more driving to where my grandparents and extended family live. We'll be in the car more often than not I think...say a little prayer for us, I'm really hoping it goes well for us. So far Maxim does wonderfully in the car so I really hope he does ok on the long haul.

I cant not wait for summer to be over...lol. I know that may sound weird with the lovely summer we have had but we are with my in-laws pretty much every weekend in the summer and they are driving me insane. Its so nice to get out of our house on the weekends since I'm cooped up all week...but at the same time, the constant hovering and comments and ridiculousness is driving me up a tree. Much of August we'll be away so thank god for that...once September gets here, it'll be much easier to deal with them. I guess I'm still bitter about having them so close and my own parents so far. I'm also uber-sensitive and pissy when DH's mom says she "misses" Maxim...as if she could friggin miss him when she sees him every week. Growl...snark....blah.
