Carly – It’s so good to see you here. I hope you’re doing as well as you can. Amos Jr has the same things going on as Tad – the drooling, chewing, fussiness, etc. It’s been going on for 6 weeks already! And his gums are so smooth – no sign of a tooth coming.

Cheryl – I understand about the meds – I hate taking them also, but it’s better for you, and therefore, better for baby, to be on them. At least, that’s my opinion! Is it common knowledge that you’re preg again? I didn’t want to say anything on FB since I wasn’t sure.

Sandy – It’s good that your DH is mentioning #2! At least you know he hasn’t completely ruled it out.

Ruby - I understand how you get frustrated when your MIL says she misses Maxim - I'm the same way with my ILs.

Most German doctors recently changed their recommendation back to 4 months since allergies haven't decreased since suggesting 6 months.

The plan my doctor gave me goes like this
1 week just pureed veggies (carrot or pumpkin or zucchini or broccoli or parsnips) and a bit of rapseed oil
next week same thing with addition of potatoes
and then once or twice a week meat added.

Then after a month of that fruit porridge is added (rice flakes with apple, pear, or banana), and after another month a whole grain porridge is added (sorghum with hypoallergenic milk and a veggie or fruit).

No wheat or oat is introduced until 10 months to stay gluten free.

However I still follow Theodor's cues, if he turns his head or keeps his mouth closed then he isn't interested. Although this only happened once so far when I introduced parsnips. I also would have put it off if he seemed to be having tummy problems but so far that hasn't been the case. He really enjoys it and makes these sounds of pleasure the whole time he is eating which is pretty cute.

Cassie this is how I did it with meat when I made a meat puree myself,
20-25g meat cooked (I used chicken the first time), 100 g veggie, 40g potatoes, 8 g rapseed oil- pureed it and that was that.

Elyse- I get believe William is so big already, and doing so much- woo hoo!

Sandy- Way to go David, that is great!!!

Natalie- If you sort of read a bit of the beginning and all the facts then you can skip ahead to the 4 month section as a lot of stuff is repeated quite a bit. Way to go Amos on rolling both ways! Teddy can only do back to stomach right now.

Carly- Isn't the teething awful? Teddy's been doing it for a month and I am sure it will be another month before the first tooth comes!

Cheryl- I hope both you and Luke have great appointments:)

Ruby- Sorry you are dealing with the in-law situation. Dh's parents live only about 10 minutes from us but are almost never here so they only see Teddy once every few weeks. I believe them when they say they miss him though he is absolutely adorable, how could you not? LOL Although I also wish of course that it was my mom who lived close and not them, I can't blame them for us choosing to live our life here as that is what we both wanted. One thing that I like to think of is being able to send Teddy for a summer or school year abroad to live with my mom. She has said she would love that and I think it would be a great way for Teddy to get to know his American side, maybe that would be an option for Maxim as well.

AFM- We are doing well. Busy, busy, busy during the day, and DH and I are enjoying the time we get to spend together at night. I also have gone out alone a few times which has been great. Sometimes with friends and sometimes just to the health spa. A friend recently commented that I looked quite tiny and I weighed myself and I now weigh even less then before I got pregnant which I am not very happy about. I am eating as much as I used to but it looks like I am going to start having to eat a bit more or add some sort of weight lifting into my routine if I want to get back to my preferred weight.
We are interviewing 6 babysitters on Sunday and Monday, I am hoping there will be at least one there who I could envision watching Teddy a few hours a week... we'll see!

Natalie- My dh never ruled #2 out I just think he wants to wait a little longer than I would. He's always mentioned #2. The only time he didn't was when David was really little and colicky. But at that time I thought the same thing.

It is nice to have the day off after only working a few hrs on Friday. David still goes to daycare and I get my errands done. I am going baby clothes shopping at some garage sales and some ladies I found on Craig's list that are selling stuff. Part of us trying to cut back and not buy expensive clothes he's only going to wear for 3 mos. We may just do 4 days a week if we have to with daycare to save more $ and then I would just have to take him w me but for now we're doing all 5. I wish I could do 10 hr days and have Fri off but that just seems to long for me.

Carly, it is so nice to hear an update--but I don't blame you for being MIA, I'm sure it has been super busy taking care of Tad!

Hey everyone, just checking in! I'm way behind as usual. We've been really busy the last couple of weeks. We celebrated Delainey's 4th birthday, went down to my Mom's for a couple days for the fair down there and then camping for the weekend. It was T's second camping trip and she did pretty well. She's been like a different baby (my story sounds quite similar to Ash's except she's not great with naps still). We are still doing formula every other feeding and it's working well for us. She sometimes seems to get frustrated with the BFing, but for the most part she does fine. I'm thinking about transferring her to her crib in the room next door to us, but haven't done it yet. She's rolling all over the place and the bassinet is definitely starting to seem small. But the convenience of it is hard to give up. She sleeps alright, but she's usually up at least once between 2-4 am. She's a pretty happy baby for the most part unless she's tired or hungry, she smiles and coos at us all the time. She absolutely loves her playmat with the toys that hang down right now, she loves to grab the toys and try to get them in her mouth. That's all I can think of right now, she has her 4 month check up (two weeks late) next Tuesday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that her weight gain is still going well, I'll keep you guys posted.

P.S. Adrienne, when you get a chance could you update Delainey's ticker for me with the one below? Thanks! :)

Hi everyone,

I've been meaning to jump in here for awhile, and I guess there's no time like the present:).

It's hard for me to believe, but Benjamin is 11 weeks old, as of yesterday. It's been an incredible journey with him, already. In the last few weeks, he's been sleeping more consistently and going longer stretches between feeds, so I'm starting to feel more rested and it's become easier to take him on outings.

He really seems to have found his voice, lately! He has so much to say to us, and it is adorable:). He still has a reputation as a very serious baby wherever we take him - it always looks like he has something on his mind. But he busts into smiles on a regular basis, which is awesome.

Cara - I just love the new pictures of your girls! Little T is so sweet:). I hope that her check up goes great.

Hi ladies,

I've been reading but with my transition back to work, don't have the time or energy to post as regularly so if you don't mind, I'll just post my AFM.

AFM - Last week was my first week back to work and it was rough on both me and Selin. She refused to take a bottle until last Friday so she basically starved herself everyday, which of course made me feel terrible. It's still hit or miss but she now takes at least one/day. Yesterday while at my parents, she only took an ounce in the morning but then sucked down two 4oz bottles back to back in the afternoon. She must've been full because she wasn't crazy hungry when I got home. She usually wants to nurse for about 30 min. after I get home and at bedtime for 45-60 min, which is exhausting for me. The last two nights she's woken up a few times throughout the night so I've gotten very little sleep. I'm not sure if it's teething or what but I miss the STTN, esp. now that I'm back at work and am up at 5:30 every morning. By the time she goes to bed, I'm completely drained but force myself to prepare for the next day so I don't have to do it in the morning. I'm still looking for PT work and we're also investigating buying private insurance so we don't have to be tied to either one of our jobs for insurance. I just keep telling myself that this is only temporary, that's the only way I get through each day. The first 2-3 days were very hard for me emotionally but now I can get through the day without getting teary-eyed.

I think Selin is going to be crawling soon. She moves her arms and legs but can't seem to get them coordinated, lol. She is still a very happy baby. We're dabbling with solids but mostly on the weekends when I have more time. So far she has tried bananas and sweet potatoes. She loves bananas but not quite keen on sweet potatoes just yet.

Rob got a job!!! I am SO excited!!! It's full time, he's making more then he has ever made in his life, and in 3 months we all get health insurance and he gets a raise!! He just filled out the application today and he starts TOMORROW! He is going to work for a company and do industrial plumbing. Don't ask me to explain what that is, I have no idea LOL! In a few short months I will be moving out there into our very own place!! Thanks everyone who was pulling for us! I am so excited! Also here are some pictures of Jensen lately!
