Mari, sorry the trip wasn't as fun and that Fede isn't feeling good.

Christine, congrats on the position. :) Did you and DH decide to go with private health care? I know that was one of the things you talked about why you still had your current position. I want to know what your boss says when you give her your notice.

Simon is on round two of teething. We discovered two spots on the top gums yesterday. Not the middle incisors but the ones on each side. So we are being a fussy pain. Only wants to eat solids and chews on the bottle but dosen't really eat it just lets it come out of his mouth. We have a sippy he has been chewing on alot. We have now had steak and chicken and we let him chew on a pickle over the weekend. He has also graduated to sitting in the high chairs when we go out to dinner which is interesting. LoL I can't beleive he will be 7 months in less then a week! I feel like i have missed so much.

I have applied for a few more jobs so i guess we will wait and see. I am trying to be posative but i don't want to get my hopes up.

I am really hoping you find something Cassie! Just remember Simon will always love you and identify you as his mother no matter how much you have to work. He won't remember this time, and it sounds to me like you are still managing to be very present and active in his life even with your work schedule!

My mom worked full-time from 6 weeks on and I know we have a closer bond then some of my friends with SAHMs- which isn't to say it has to be an either or type of thing, just to say that it is possible to still be very close.

Mari- I think dh is getting better with #2. He had a bad week that week and also our finances were a mess so it was just bad timing. I keep thinking how he will want another when our friends have #2 in January. Plus I don't want to TTC until next Dec at the very earliest. I want them close to being 3 years apart. My brother and I were 2 years and 10 months apart and I think that's great spacing. If it ends up being closer to 3.5 that is OK too. I really don't want anything further than 4 but considering it didn't take us long to TTC the first time hoping the same this time around. However I will be older (over 35) so we'll see. Plus really don't want two in diapers. They are expensive enough with one! We also want to pay some bills off as I said in some of my other posts and try to save. I know you can't really afford kids but we are hoping to try and make it a little better by paying some of our CC debt off. we will have dh's student loans until probably David is in college (unless we win the lottery) as he has over $42,000 in student loans. That is what really kills us. If we didn't have that we'd have a lot of extra $ and probably wouldn't be worrying as much about money.

I was thinking though we may wait until early 2012 instead but we'll see. December will be so busy with David's bday and Christmas I was thinking maybe we should wait until January anyway. I thought about the BC thing too. We have time so I was thinking of talking with him next year around my bday. I will be turning 35 next September so we'll talk then.

Christine- Congrats on the job. You are so lucky to have your mom to watch your daughter. That is the part of me that wishes the family was closer. I would have childcare and wouldn't have to put him into daycare or hire a babysitter. However he loves the kids at his daycare and he gets social skills so I guess that is good. Plus it's not like he's in a daycare center.

Cassie- I totally understand you with the teething. David has been teething since 5 mos. We finally have 1/2 a tooth. I can see it in his gum as I sometimes hit it with the spoon when I'm feeding him but the whole thing isn't up yet. He's been really fussy b/c of it and I keep hoping any day. We've done everything...motrin, baby orajel, teething tablets, ect. Nothing really works.

David has slept through the night two nights in a row! YAY! I am hoping it is the beginning but I am not going to keep my hopes up. However it is nice to feel refreshed. Although the dog woke me up last night when he went to get something to drink but I just fell back asleep. I swear our dog is like a 2nd child or at least he acts like it. And I think he acts like it more now that we have David.

I am making my first trip with David myself. My dad's aunt and uncle are coming in from Florida and his cousin from Pittsburgh. My dh can't go as he has a commitment on Sat night so I am going with David myself. I am taking Friday off work and we will leave early on Friday (hoping by 6 or 6:30am) and then we will drive to Cleveland to see my mom, aunt, uncle and grandmother. And we will spend the most of the day with them and then head over to my dad's house in the evening and spend the rest of the weekend there. So hoping the trip goes well. He sleeps a lot of it. I may have to stop to feed him or change him but we'll see. Last time we went he slept straight through the whole time so we'll see what happens.

Anyway I got to get back to work so hope you all have a good day.

Mari- Congrats on your little one's tooth. Still waiting for David's to come in the rest of the way. He just must be a slow teether or something. His is partially in but just is taking it's good old time. I hope the other ones don't take this long. It's been over 3 months since he started teething.

Hi girls! Sounds like we have a lot of teething going around right now! Yay Fede for getting his very first tooth! What a milestone.

I've been reading and keeping up with everyone but just haven't chimed in for some reason... maybe it's because I'm chasing my crazy little (big) girl around the house!!?? Eliza has gotten pretty fast at crawling in only 2 short weeks. She is now also pulling herself up to standing on anything she can, which has resulted in a few bumps and bruises -- and this is only the beginning, I know :(

We had Eliza's 9 month check-up yesterday and she is doing great. She's big, but we knew that, lol. She's 29" tall and 24 lbs 3 ozs. Her ped said she is healthy and perfect and there is nothing to worry about with her weight - she is in the upper 90th %iles for both height and weight so she's proportional. :) Other than that, not much is new. I've started thinking about her 1st bday party already, which is mind-blowing! School starts for me in a few weeks and I know time will fly even faster than it already has once the semester gets underway. It's just so crazy to think that at this time last year I was getting her nursery finished and rubbing my big belly - and now she's here crawling around and babbling up a storm!
