Amy - Thanks! Yeah I am looking forward to getting some daily exercise. :-)

Ash - Thanks! BTW, I love your new siggy! Teddy is just adorable!!

Cassie - We are still researching insurance but are 99% sure we are going to go with private. DH talked to his office manager today and there's actually a way for them to pay for our private insurance and take it out of DH's paycheck pre-tax (apparently some other employees are doing this) so that will save us some money. My boss actually took my notice better than I was expecting and they're all taking me out to lunch next week, even though I told her it wasn't necessary. We have been putting Selin in restaurant high chairs for about a month now as it is so much easier than one of us trying to hold her while we eat. Usually the chairs are a little too big for her so I put her diaper changing pad (folded up) behind her back to help keep her balanced. GL in your job search. I know how you feel - I thought I was never going to be able to leave my job but everything does happen in it's own time, even though it's hard to see that now. Don't give up!!

Sandy - Yay for David STTN! Isn't it a wonderful feeling? GL on your first trip alone with him. And love your new siggy too!

Mari - Aww, Fede's first tooth! Let's see a picture!

Ella - GL with going back to school! Is Eliza taking a bottle any better these days? Selin finally prefers the Tommie Tippee bottles. She will also take their sippy cup but I have to take the valve out so the milk comes out faster.

AFM - Not much going on here. I have been SUPER busy at work so no sitting around and relaxing during my last two weeks. I gave my notice on Monday and my boss took it pretty well. She just assumed I'm leaving to be a SAHM so I didn't tell her about my new gig since she didn't ask and I really don't want her to know where I'm going anyway. Everyone I've told doesn't seem too surprised about my leaving so that's been nice not having to explain myself. One more week to go and then I'm outta there! Tomorrow I'm actually calling in sick so I can shadow the girl whose route I'm taking over at my new job. I only work 11-2 tomorrow so it will be nice not having to race out of the house at 7am and still have plenty of the day to spend with Selin. Oh and not having to pump 3x/day at work, which is really starting to get to be a pain but it's worth it for her to continue BFing.

As for Selin, she has stopped teething and has gone back to STTN, thank God! Lately she has been saying something that I swear sounds like "Hi" but I could be wrong. I'm looking forward to really giving solids a go since I've just been too tired with work to give it a good effort. She loves bananas

Hey everyone! So much going on with these little ones! I love reading all about their development. Sorry I don't post as often. I really need to get a new siggy too :S

We have been pretty busy lately. Last weekend DH and I celebrated out 5 year anniversary. I can't believe it's been 5 years. We went to Chattanooga to visit some friends. Logan went swimming in the lake for the first time. He loved it. No surprises since he loves the pool too.

He has gotten so self sufficient here lately. He holds his own bottle to eat. He also sits really well now by himself. I don't really have to worry about him tipping over. He is also getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth, the beginning stages of crawling. I can't believe he could actually be crawling soon. I know it could still be some time though for him to actually figure out how to move his arms and legs.

We have also been trying to give him solids at dinner time. He has had so far: squash, avacado, peach, watermelon, banana (wasn't a fan of), asparagus and DH likes to give him lemon when we are at restaurants. He actually likes it but makes the funniest face.

I can't remember if I mentioned on my last post that I am now just BFing in the evenings and his first morning feeding. I couldn't go back to school and pump again. I read other stories where women were still able to BF at night so I wanted to atleast give it a try. So far my supply has been keeping up. He nurses a couple times before he goes to bed and once in the middle of the night and then first thing in the morning. Sometimes I feel he nurses less for food and more for comfort but that's okay with me. Especially since I started classes last week and it's nice to come home and nurse to reconnect. I feel good about it b/c he is still getting BM and it is less stress on me, wondering if he is getting enough and not having to pump.

Logan is doing so well and is such a happy little fella. I really don't have to stress about taking him out to places because he does so well. He is quite the charmer and smiles at everyone. Someone mentioned restaurant highchairs. I have to recommend the seat we got. It actually attaches to the table. We use it at home instead of a highchair. We take it with us whenever we go somewhere, restaurants, friend's houses, you name it. So far it has worked with any table we have come across. Logan loves it b/c it puts him right at the table and he is nice and secure. We actually will probably get a second one just to keep in the car.

I would post some new pics but they are all on the desktop...soon I will get some posted.

Oh and Christine - I really want to Congratulate you on the new job!! I am so happy for you!! Sounds like it will be perfect.

My friend had to start only night feedings around 4 months, and she is still doing it and her son is a year and a half now. It's definitely possible to keep it up for awhile so awesome for trying that! I can't believe he is holding his bottle! Jensen can hold it and put it in his mouth but not very well so I still do it most of the time. Jensen is also an angel when we go out but he is NOT social and he has extreme stranger anxiety poor thing. Thanks for posting the link! I don't know how often they clean restaurant chairs so I am always afraid to let him sit in them lol!

AFM - This is an IM conversation between me and Rob from the other day. He just randomly IMed me this:

Robert says (8:16 PM):
Well just think if we had a girl
Amy says (8:16 PM):
what?
Robert says (8:17 PM):
I know, it's just random but just imagine
Amy says (8:17 PM):
lol I love you
Robert says (8:17 PM):
I love you too baby
Amy says (8:18 PM):
do you want a boy or girl next?
Robert says (8:19 PM):
I think we should have a girl then another boy
Amy says (8:19 PM):
lol how come?
Robert says (8:20 PM):
Well 2 of both
Robert says (8:21 PM):
Cause they van have someone to play with and do things with
Amy says (8:21 PM):
but if we have more then 4 kids we won't have 2 of both lol
won't just*
Robert says (8:24 PM):
I know but it's why I said I wanted another boy then 2girls
Amy says (8:24 PM):
lol you said another girl then a boy. so girl or boy next lol. I am confused
Amy says (8:24 PM):
lol
Robert says (8:25 PM):
Yeah why I said that is cause we could have a boy girl boy girl
Girl
Amy says (8:26 PM):
lol
I want a boy next I think, but I'd be happy either way
Robert says (8:27 PM):
Same here
Robert says (8:28 PM):
When do you wanna start
Amy says (8:28 PM):
start what, trying?
Robert says (8:28 PM):
Yeah
Amy says (8:28 PM):
I thought January? Did you want to try sooner?
Robert says (8:29 PM):
Yeah kinda
Robert says (8:29 PM):
Would you wanna try soonr

So I guess we are going to try in November so long as the Dr says it's ok! Now all I hear about from him when he calls is "I can't wait to start trying, I can't wait for you to be pregnant again". AF is currently in town and I was complaining of cramps and Rob said "well in a couple months hopefully you won't have to deal with that for a long while" LOL. The more we thought about two close together the more we fell in love with it. However after this one we do plan to take a 3 year break to save up and get started on our house (we own 10 acres in Louisiana but the land needs to be raised before we can build on it, so it needs some work yet). I have also lost 10 lbs so far, which I am happy about. The more I get into walking the more happy I feel, but the more sure I never want to let my body get to this point again. I don't aspire to be skinny. I am 5'8'' and I like curves so I don't think I ever want to be under 180 lbs. At my skinniest with size B breasts and my bones sticking out I was 160 lbs, so on my frame I am not meant to weigh a tiny amount. I still have another 15 lbs to get to my goal weight for TTC, and I plan to continue working out and eating right even while TTC, and the start of pregnancy. I am very excited about TTC and getting things ready to build our house and for school next year!

Hello ladies,

Im so far behind....I've been out of town in the States for 12 days. I did some reading but there is no way I can do personals right now.

We had a good trip. Maxim did really well in the car, at least on the way there. We stopped every four hours for about 30 minutes to change/feed him and eat. We figured out early that he needed a companion in the backseat to keep him occupied and content so we switched every 4 hours. We drove 12 hours the first day and 8 hours the 2nd day both ways. We stopped at our standard casino hotel in Wisconsin...casino's have cheap but clean rooms because they want you to gamble. Our unavoidable mistake was having tons of driving even when we were home....to my reunion and back (1 hour from my parents), to my grandparents town and back (5 hours from my parents)....it was too much and he was really getting sick of the car. On the way home, he cried a LOT more even with us playing with him in the backseat and he didnt nap as often. He had a few diaper leaks on the way there which wasnt a big deal.

On the way back, he hadnt pooped in 5 days and had the most massive blowout to date in his car seat. DH was holding his poo-stained hand and didnt even notice until there was crap going everywhere, lol. So we had to stop in Superior WI, an hour earlier than we wanted to clean him up. Wisconsin and the UP were not friendly to him this time either and he pretty much cried/fussed for 4 hours straight no matter how hard my DH tried to please him. We ended up stopping for the night in Christmas, Michigan and barely got the last hotel room for 200 miles. If you've ever been in the UP of Michigan you know how incredibly isolated it is...we would have been in deep doo-doo if we hadnt gotten that room...I would have paid anything for that room just to have it but she felt for us and gave us their corporate rate ($65!!). Who knew we would have had such a time getting a room? Carly, I thought of you as we passed through your neck of the woods.

Anyway, it was a good trip overall and my family was so happy to see us. Now I've sunk into my standard week of mild depression after these visits but the good thing is that my parents are coming for his baptism in September. Everybody else we will see at Christmas time. If anybody ever needs road trip advice with an infant, I'm a friggin expert now having spent over 20+ hours one way on the road, LOL!

Maxim is now 3 months old and he's really changing a lot. He's drooling tons, sucking on his hands, kicking and playing more, making lots of noise, smiling TONS and sleeping great. He slept 11.5 hours straight last night!! He must have been super tired and missed his crib. We are so glad to be home! Hope to get back on here more regularly now!

Ruby- I am glad that Maxim had a good trip in the car, at leas on the way there. Yay for sleeping 11.5 hours! I can't believe he is 3 months old now. The grow so fast!

Amy- That is very exciting that you and DH have set a date for TTC #2. WTG with the weight loss! I told DH that he needs to keep me motivated after this baby to loose all the baby weight. Adorable pics of Jensen!

Ashley- It is great to hear from you. Happy belated Anniversary. Logan sounds like he is growing up so fast. Luke is trying to hold the bottle now on his own, he hasn't quite got the hang of it though. It sounds like he is doing great with solids! My niece loved lemons when she was little too! I am glad that BF at night and in the mornings is working for you.

Christine- Congratulations on the new job! I hope your last week goes fast.

Ella- I bet Eliza is just cruising now! What a big and healthy girl she is! I hear you on thinking on Eliza's 1st birthday, I already have been thinking about Luke's :)

Mari- WTG Fede! Pics :) I hope the class goes well for you.

Sandy- That is great that David has been STTN for you. You must feel like a new person getting a good night's sleep. I hope your first trip alone with David goes well.

Cassie- I hope you find a new job soon, for your sake. Has Simon's teeth come through yet. I think Luke is in the beginning stages of teething now.

Ash- I am glad that Theo is finally sleeping good for you. I hear you on the teething. I can't believe our babies are getting so big!

Cara- Don't feel bad about not being able to BF T as long as you wanted to. You just have to do what is best for you and her in the long run. Happy Belated birthday to Delainey!

CassieJ- Great to see an update from you. I can't believe that Benjamin is getting so big! Baby smiles are just the best :)

AFM- I am finally caught up for now with personal's. I can't believe I haven't updates since before Luke had his 4 month apt. He did great. He was 13 ln 7 oz and 24.5 inches tall. Looks like he will end up being skinny and tall just like his daddy. We started him on solids (veggies) just after his 4 month apt. So far he has had sweet potatoes, green beans and squash. The squash seems to be his favorite so far.

We have stopped swaddling and rocking him to sleep. Now I have started a bedtime routine with him, about 8 pm I feed him his cereal, give him his bath, read a few stories, give him his bottle, and then lay him in bed. He does so good now falling asleep on his own. I was a bit worried on how he was going to do. He normally sleeps about 10-11 hours each night.

Luke has just discovered his voice. His newest thing is to squeal as loud as he can and then laughs. He is such a ticklish baby. He is very ticklish under his arms, upper chest, and on his inner thighs. I just love his little laugh.

Yay for good growth! How is he doing on solids? We waited until Jensen was 6 months and it seemed to be too soon for him. He did not tolerate solids well. But now at 7 months he is doing much better. I do not miss the screaming for fun lol! Jensen is just starting to get really ticklish and it is hilarious to tickle him and make him break out in the shrieking giggles lol!

How are you feeling pregnancy wise? Morning sickness starting to go away? Does it feel like you have just been continuously pregnant since you only had a short break? lol!

Just wanted to pop in and say that T gained 2 lbs in a month! She jumped from 10%tile to 25th in one month. Yahoo! Finally I feel like we are getting somewhere. She was 12 lbs 11 oz. and 24 inches which is just shy of where McKenna was at the same age so I feel like she's doing great now. Also, since we moved her to the crib and upped her milk intake she's been sleeping an 8-10 hour stretch at night! Yay! Sorry I skipped out on personals again, I just keep getting so behind, maybe things will slow down now that summer is coming to an end. My big girl starts 1st grade tomorrow, I can't believe it. It really goes so fast, enjoy every moment, girls!

Just a quick update no time for personals but I have read everything and hope to do some soon!

-Teddy went on a nursing strike last week. It sucked. He screamed and arched his back whenever I tried to nurse him. I managed to nurse him 3-5 times a day half asleep but that was it. It lasted from Mon to Fri and then it was like it never happened and he is back to being my little nursing champ again LOL. Worst advice came from the doctors office who said he was weaning and I should come to terms with it- thank the stars for the internet and good midwives!

- Teddy loves solids with abandon. It is so funny my PEKiP (mother child course) instructor who is also a child psychologist says she has never had a baby who eats solids as happily as Teddy does at this age and she convinced me to stop cutting it off at a certain point. The midwife I went to see about the nursing strike said the same thing, she mentioned that sometimes it is different for bigger babies, and talked about how one woman's daughter wouldn't touch solids at 9 months so she had to breastfeed her every hour. That gave me a totally new appreciation for Teddy and now I am just going to go with the flow. Since I am only feeding him solids once a day and only food meant for 4 months and up she said it is totally fine to let him eat as much as he wants. Which is normally a full jar. LOL. Now that the nursing strike is over he is back to nursing every 3-5 hours during the day so I am much less worried about him getting "too much" solids.

- Teddy is still a bit fussy, now of course due to teething LOL. He also is one of the slowest when it comes to motor skills in a few of my mother/baby type classes. The best was at PEKiP last week, they were all lined up in a row laying underneath balloons hanging above them which they were supposed to grasp with their hands and feet. They all more or less did it, except of course for Theo who chose to look the other way and then cry. It was priceless I wish I had gotten a picture! The instructor said that while he isn't the fastest when it comes to motor skills, orally he is quite advanced and normally that is how it works out. Fast in one area but slower in another. I don't really care either way as it isn't like he won't ever learn to crawl or talk. However DH and I do make jokes about Teddy's only skills being, being big, eating, and gaining weight :D

-To be fair he can roll from back to stomach and did once roll from stomach to back but I think that was a fluke LOL.

-DH is out of town this week and it is the first time for me to be alone with Teddy for multiple days. I was scared at first but it is going fine:)

-We have had a babysitter twice now and each time stayed out until about midnight/1 o'clock. It has been SO fun! The babysitter comes when Theo is already asleep at 7pm and then just feeds him a bottle around 11/midnight, he goes back to sleep and then for the next feed I am back home.

Hope everyone is having a great end to the summer!!!
