Ashley - Logan is quite the little self-sufficient man! Happy anniversary, too! I hope your transition back to school will go well and BF during your non-school hours works out great too. I forget, is your MIL still watching him for you?

Amy - Yay for TTC getting bumped up! What a cute convo with your DH. Keep up the great workouts!

Ruby - I'm glad your road trip went well! We did a 17 hour drive with Selin to/from the US to Canada so I feel your pain! Thank God you got that last hotel room!

Cheryl - Aren't those baby squeals the greatest? Selin was about Luke's age when she started becoming more vocal. She gets more and more gigglier (is that even a word?) every month. How is your PGcy coming along? (Sorry, I don't follow the PGcy chat regularly). Are you guys going to find out the sex? How is it being PG and caring for a baby (honestly)? :-)

Cara - That is fantastic news about Tenley's weight and sleep habits!! You must really enjoy having only one LO to take care of during the day now. :-)

Ash - So sorry to hear about the nursing strike. Do they have LLL groups in Germany? I feel like I am constantly pushing LLL but they really are a great resource. Good for you for trusting your instincts - sometimes medical professionals don't know everything. :-)

AFM - Selin turned 6 months old yesterday! I can't believe half a year has gone by already. She is getting to be a real character. Ash's post reminded me of something Selin has been doing for the last few weeks. Sometimes when she is nursing, she gets easily distracted (even if I'm sitting in a quiet room with her) and pops on and off constantly and arching her back. She doesn't cry, she's just distracted. So I went back to side-nursing her when she does this, esp. at naptimes/bedtime, and that seems to help.

This week is my last week at work and they're keeping me pretty busy but I decided to treat myself and check in on you ladies. I took Friday off to shadow the girl who's route I'm taking over and it was well worth it. All of the dogs responded to me really well. It was fun but definitely tiring. My MIL is going to watch Selin one day/week for us so we'll see how that goes. I finally convinced her that she has to come to our house because she still has no crib/PNP at her house and I'm not going to let Selin just sleep on a cheap mattress on the floor (MIL's solution) esp. now that she rolls over in her sleep. I'll be gone for about 4-5 hours so we'll see if it's too much for her. My mom is going to watch her 2 days/week so the other 2 days I'm going to try bringing her to work with me. Hopefully it will be doable.

Have a good week, everyone!

Amy- Luke seems to be tolerating the solids well so far. We haven't had any problems as of yet. He gets really excited when he sees the spoon. I am feeling okay pregnancy wise. The morning sickness has been a lot worse this time around, but today I feel halfway decent. Maybe it is a sign that it is starting to go away. It is funny how fast I forgot a lot of stuff about the beginning of pregnancy since it wasn't that long ago that I was in the same spot.

Cara- That is awesome that T gained 2 pounds in a month. It must be so nice that she is sleeping long stretches in her crib now. You'll have to let us know how McKenna's first day of school went.

Ash- I am glad that Teddy's nursing strike was over. I can't believe the doctors office told you that he was starting to wean himself. That is great he is doing so well with solids, Luke seems to be as well. Sweet potatoes and squash are the favorites around here. It must be so nice to get out of the house for a bit when you have a babysitter.

Christine- Happy 6 months to Selin. I can't believe it has been a half of a year since she was born. I hope your new schedule works out. When Luke spends a longer amount of time at my MIL we bring our PNP over for him to use. My Mom already has one at her house from my nephew.

Pregnancy wise, I am doing good. Thursday I go for the NT scan. I can't believe it is time for that already. This time around the MS has been so much worse. There are days when I don't want to do anything, but of course I have to because I have Luke to take care of. I won't lie it isn't easy, but I know the end result is well worth it. I think things will be much better once the MS dies down. Yes, we are going to find out the sex of this baby as well.

I saw 2 different LCs both certified from the LLL. Honestly I have had bad luck with most of the LCs I have dealt with here who are associated with LLL. I have found many to be overzealous in pushing their breast is best message to the detriment of absolutely any other viewpoint. I don't plan on giving up solids or occasional bottles so I don't really need to listen to half an hour about why it would be best if I did which is what the one LC did. I have been able to find great resources on the net though:)

One thing that works well for us is if I wear a long sparkly type necklace while nursing he can play with it and nurse at the same time. Perhaps something to try if you are somewhere where you can't lie down.

I don't have much time to post here but David finally got a tooth and a second one on the way....He is finally not so fussy about it thank goodness and it sleeping well again. I will post about our trip later as I am at work and should be working.

Also DH is on board to TTC #2 in December 2011. I hope he doesn't change his mind again so I am going to just keep that date and hopefully by then he will be ready for sure. I explained my issues to him and I also had a left over pg test as he cleaned over the weekend and he made a comment about it. It expires before then anyway but men don't know that.

So I hope to be on later to write about my trip and do personals maybe during my break or lunch.

Ash - I'm sorry that your experience with LLL has been negative. My group must be the exception because they are very open-minded and not pushy at all. I am not really a "crunchy granola" type but I feel very comfortable with them. They are a younger group so maybe that's why my experience has been different. Thanks for the necklace tip!

Sandy - Yay for David's first tooth and DH being on-board for TTC. How exciting!

Sandy - Yay for a tooth and a TTC date!!!

AFM - Rob got offered a new and better job!!! There isn't much difference in job, but the benefits are much better!! He now has paid vacation, time and a half pay for holidays, and better insurance! This was the place he worked at for 3 years before moving out to me, so he knows the company, the work is easier, and it's the same 40 hours a week + overtime schedule! Rob is happy so I am happy!!

Ash - Glad to hear Teddy is doing well! That's crazy that the Dr. tried to tell you he was weaning, glad you researched it for yourself. As for the motor skills, they all do things in their own time and it sounds like you have a great attitude about it and aren't worried, which you shouldn't be! McKenna was so early to do everything (walking by 9.5 months!!) so Delainey seemed so slow to me when she didn't start crawling until she was over 10 months. But she was just so much more mellow and her verbal skills were really incredible!

Christine - I can't believe Selin is 6 months already! I second the necklace idea for nursing, they even make special nursing necklaces just for this situation. I've never tried it, but my friend uses one a lot. I'm so glad to hear that you found a new job that sounds like it's going to work much better for your family! Can't wait to hear how it all goes.

Cheryl - Wow, the NT test already! It seems like it's going so fast (to me, of course). I'm sorry about the MS, I've definitely been there, THREE times! LOL. But never with such a little baby, that's really got to be rough. But at least the 2T is right around the corner and things should start looking up then!

Sandy and Mari - How exciting about the first teeth!!

AFM - Yay, I finally got around to some personals!! :) Things here are going well. McKenna's had two days of school now and she's loving it, she was so excited to go back. Tenley is doing really great and she's just like a normal baby now! I wouldn't consider her fussy at all. She only gets upset when she's hungry or tired and as I said before she's sleeping a great long stretch at night which has been AWESOME! LOL.

I just have to chime in that I am so happy for you Cara:) It sounds like things have gotten a lot better- I can't imagine school though! Such big girls!! I remember being so excited before school started, it must be fun to be a part of that as a parent.

I can't believe you had a walker at 9.5 months McKenna must have been a whirlwind!

Still think it is sweet that you have 3 girls. I know you were hoping for a boy, but I think it would be so neat to grow up as a part of three sisters!

Off topic question: So far do you prefer the age difference of McKenna to Delainey, or Delainey to Tenley?

Yeah, I'm very happy with my three little girls. :) I wouldn't trade T for any boy in the world. Yeah, McKenna was a real go getter for sure! Still is! LOL.

To answer your question: I really liked the age difference between my first two, it was just about 2.5 years and McKenna was young enough that she just kind of took it all in stride, didn't have a lot of issues adjusting, etc. But that could also be a little bit of personality too. Delainey definitely had some trouble after T was born, regressing with her potty training, etc. But things are much better now, it just took a bit of adjustment. Plus, the two older girls play so well together and they are really great buddies. On the other hand, it really was nice to have only one in diapers this time around, McKenna was just started to potty train when Delainey was born. And Delainey (and McKenna of course) are great helpers when it comes to entertaining Tenley and giving her bottles and stuff. So that's nice too!
