Try a sleep sack, I stopped swaddling Maxim after a month and moved to the sleep sack....best thing ever. On hot evenings, he just wore a diaper with it, on warm nights he would wear a onesie with it and on cold nights, a full jammy under it. Best thing ever and he seems to associate it with night time bed time since thats the only time he wears it. They are big enough that he can still move his legs around if he wants and his arms are free, but he's warm inside. There are tons of material options...my current one is bamboo and the next size up I have for winter is fleece. For naps, I would wrap a blanket on top of him.I have this one but there are tons of great options...HALO is apparently a good brand.
Is it possible she is hot in the swaddle? I love the Aden and Anais muslin blankets, I just got them a month ago and Maxim loves them too. I wish I would have had them sooner. They are breathable and so soft. Also very big so he can use them for awhile. I only wrap him in it during naps arms out. They are a little expensive but so so worth it. A and A also has a winter muslin swaddles and sleep bags. I think you can get them on Amazon.com
Good luck! Have fun with your family!
Thanks Ruby. I ahve a few of those so I will try them. One we have has fleece arms almost like a sleeper, just without the legs. the past couple of days I haven't been swaddling her at all, so I don't think it's that she is too hot. It's been colder here (in the upper 40's over night) so I have been putting her in a sleeper at night and she seems to be fine. I think she just likes the confinement of the swing...
We met with the Lactation consultant today. She is having me pump a few minutes before I feed her so help with the letdown and it will help her not pull so much on my breast which will help it not hurt so bad. They have been hurting like crazy lately. and she is weighing 9lbs 10oz today ;)
Amy- I don't know how you are doing it either. My husband went to Texas for a conference for about 4 days and David was 3 weeks old. It was horrible. Of course with a baby that young it might be a bit different too. He was starting his colicky phase and wouldn't sleep at all during the day. I couldn't wait for him to come home.
I thought David had a cold but it's another tooth. For some reason he gets stuffy/runny nose every time he gets a tooth. This is the 3rd time it has happened. He's getting an upper this time.
Not much time for anything else. hope you all have a great weekend.

Hey Ladies :)
I've been MIA lately in terms of posting, but I've been reading.
Jess - glad to hear that BFing is going better. Good to meet with an LC as much as you can, so I'm glad you're getting to do that! I agree with everyone on sleeping in the swing - it's such a survival game at this age; wherever you can get them to sleep is exactly where they "should" be sleeping at this point! Hope you guys had a good time at the lake.
Ash - hope you guys are having a fantastic time visiting your mom. Can't wait to hear how Teddy enjoys your hometown ;) Are you stocking up on CDs?
Christine - I hope counseling with DH goes well and helps you both. Hopefully the male therapist will make a difference. I can understand that - I think my DH might be the same way.
I'm waving hi to everyone else!
AFM - Eliza is 10 months old, which means she will be A YEAR old in only like 8 weeks! WHAAAAT? She's doing great, crawling all over the place, standing up on the furniture, "talking" up a storm. She is interested in everything and SO smart. I know, I'm totally not biased at all, right? LOL. She does a few signs with us - milk, more, and all done, and she totally understands everything we say. It's kind of amazing!! She's still enjoying eating everything we offer her, so the BLW is still going strong. She's also still BFing of course - that girl LOOOOVES mama's milk. I don't see any weaning going on anytime soon, which is fine with me. AF has stayed away so far, which has been great... I'm not in a hurry to see her again!!! I started school and that's been keeping me really really busy. Eliza stays with my parents while I'm gone, and she has a great time - she loves them, and it's so great to know she's in good hands. The only problem is that she WILL. NOT. NAP. for them. They just can't get her to sleep... I think maybe she just isn't used to sleeping for Grandma and Grandpa, they have just been for PLAY so far, not sleep. So, yeah. That's kind of frustrating. I came home after like 7 hours and she was totally exhausted (although she was still happy!). Also, she still won't take a bottle of EBM (or a sippy cup) - stubborn girl, this one! At this point, it's really not that critical, she eats enough food, so she's not hungry while I'm gone, but I'm pumping at school and I'm afraid all that milk is going to go to waste. :/ We'll keep trying though!
Amy - Sorry you weren't having a good day and don't have the support. I am sure the 6 weeks will go by so fast and you will be back with Rob in no time.
Ella - I can't believe that Eliza is 10 months old! Crazy how time flies.
Waving hi to everyone else.
AFM - We had a good time at the lake, it was a bit chilly, but we survived up there, got the boat closed and some trees down for the IL's. My SIL and I spent some good time together with the girls, so it was fun.
Gabriella however wasn't quite so happy today because of the change of schedule. She was fussing at 8am (2 hours after her last feeding) so I tried to feed her, but she apparently wasn't hungry. Then I tried again at 9:15 and she ate a bit, but not much. We had a 2 1/2 hour trip back to our friends house. Where after 3 hours from eating I figured she would want to eat, but it took me almost a 1/2 hour to get an oz in her and then DH took her and got her to eat another 2 in no time...guess mom and the bottle didn't work out so well, she must want the breast instead. but after that she was fine until we got home. Even took the other oz in her bottle from my friend. We will see how tonight goes. last night she slept for a good 4 hours or so at a time, so we got some good sleep.
Ella-I hear ya how it's gone so fast. David is 9 months and I can't believe he'll be a year in December. It seems like I just brought him home from the hospital.
Hope everyone had a great weekend> We did and I am exhausted. Went to two cookouts so I am tired and I think David is as well.
DH mentioned #2 again today so I am hoping he is really one board now. He said we will have to do something with the dog before #2 (not like we would get rid of him) but just saying there are only two of us and our dog wants attention like the kid and when we have two what we will do? Of course those of you with more than 2 kids I guess you manage right?
We're going car seat shopping next weekend. We've put it off way too long and need to get one. Just hope we can find one to fit in our cars. We have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Pontiac Grand Am so hoping something will fit. We will have to get two one good one and then maybe a cheaper one for the second car as my husband takes David to daycare and I pick him up and we are not going to be doing car seat flip flop every day. it's different with the infant seat we had a second base for the second car.
Oh Mari I'm so sorry! I've never had it but I've had a few friends who've had it and know it's just awful on them :( I can't believe you've had it four times! Hope the gyn can offer some advice and I really hope you don't have to end up weaning Fede before you want to :/
