Christine, Teddy gets heat rash all the time. He seems really prone to it as he gets it even when it's not that hot (70s). Both car seats and night times make it worse (I guess as he's then lying on his back for a long period), so at night most of the time he only wears his PJ bottoms; but in the day he has to have a t shirt on. But I guess reducing layers and choosing light cotton is the only way forward. I have heard that calamine lotion works wonders but haven't tried it yet, as a matter of fact I'm going out this afternoon to buy some!
As you say Selin gets it on her belly, is it the part that's covered by the nappy? Teddy gets it mostly on the back but occasionally on his chest and the lower belly where the nappy sits.

I guess I belong on this thread now!
Just checking in again. I was SO far behind on posts, but did read everything. I will try to do a few personals from memory:
Mari - How exciting about Fede starting solids, he is such a cutie and looks so happy in that jumper!
Cheryl - How are you doing? Hope you're feeling well.
Sandy - You should really feel great about making it 7 months with the BFing, that's longer than I ever have!
Dee - Glad to hear you have a mellow baby this time around, that is so nice!
Christine - I'm in the same boat as you, just got back from my parents and having to readjust to doing everything on my own again!
Ella - Hope you're having a a good time on your vacation!
Ruby - How exciting about the overnight get away. I can't believe your little guy is 2 months old already!
Christine - How exciting about the job interview, keep us posted!! That sucks that Selin refuses the bottle still. I have no advice, I was lucky and all three of mine took to it easily at around 4 weeks.
Suzie - Good luck on your road trip. My little one doesn't like the car much either and we just did a 4 hour trip to my mom's. It was okay.
AFM - Just got back from being at my mom's for 10 days! We had a lot of fun with a big family picnic for the 4th, fireworks over the bay, the San Fransisco zoo and took the girls to the beach. All six of their cousins were there too so that was fun. T had yet another weight check today and she was up 15 oz. in two weeks! Phew! Finally she's gaining right. We are doing three bottles a day and then Bfing four times usually. I've just been alternating feedings. And now she doesn't have to go back until her regular four month checkup. Yay!
Checking in! Well as most of you know we had a loss last month, and it's been eating me up inside. I got baby fever SO bad the minute I stopped bleeding and started thinking about due dates (like for instance if I got pregnant this month I would be due around our wedding anniversary, but not sure on that because I haven't ovulated yet) and out of the blue Rob tells me he would be so happy if I was pregnant right now. I asked where that came from and he told me he just loves me so much more for all we have been through and the thought of expanding our family sooner rather then later suddenly makes him happy. I asked if it had anything to do with the fact that we were moving to Louisiana and he is just happy to be going home, and he told me no it wasn't about that, but I am not convinced. Part of me wants to not argue and say yeah when we are settled lets TTC, but the other part of me is worried he is just so much happier then he has been in a long time and is only talking about babies because he wants to make me happy too (even though I kept my baby fever talk to myself) and also January is only only 5 1/2 months away so I also feel like if we do TTC earlier January would probably be a better time to do it. Head vs heart. But isn't it always? I think because I am so confused I am just gonna have to say pass on this until I am sure I want to be pregnant again. Not to mention I really believe in letting the body rest and recover from traumatic things and in the last 6 months I have given birth and had a loss so I think I should work on losing weight (BC made me gain back the 22 lbs I lost the first month Jensen was born, ugh) and just letting my body have a break. With how fast these last 6 months have gone I really don't feel like we have much of a wait anyway.
In other news Jensen has been saying "da da" and "ma ma" for awhile but he never said it to us so I figured it was just him making noise. We started working on da da recently and the other day Rob walked in the room and I started to say something to him and Jensen looked up and yelled "DA DA"!!! I was so excited and so happy Rob got to be here to see it! Now whenever he sees Rob he says "da da" and when he and Rob are playing and talking every other word is "dada" lol! The other night he ate a whole container of baby food too which was shocking, normally I have to fight him to eat half. Man he is growing so fast!!

Amy- You need to do what you feel is best for you and your body. After going through childbirth I can't imagine getting pregnant any sooner than a year after having my son. However I am probably going to wait until a year from now or maybe a little later before I start mentioning TTC again and see what happens. Hoping to get pregnant after David turns 2 so we still have awhile. But I am enjoying him and I am not going to worry about the TTC stuff yet. I think my dh is wondering about TTC again now after his friend's son is 2 and an absolute terror. I hope David doesn't become that because then I am afraid DH won't want another one. After this one we will be done so it's not like I want that many more. So hopefully he will agree and all kids are different too. My mom said she never had issues with my brother and I and we never acted up ect. My dh said he thinks she doesn't remember but who knows. So we'll just see what happens and until then enjoy David (well except for the fact I was up at midnight and then 5am with him). The night before he slept through the night so it's hit or miss with him. I can't wait until we are sleeping through the night for good. That will help us decide we really want another. Also I want David at least close to being potty trained. Potty trained would be good too by the time our second comes around.
Anyway I have to start work now so I hope everyone has a great day.

Anna - Actually, she is getting the rash just above where the diaper is. I saw a spot or two on her back/side but it's been mostly on her tummy.
Suzie - Which Ergo did you get? I have the black one with the butterfly embroidery. I really like it but Selin seems to get fussy if she's in it for too long, like 30 min. or more. I'm going to a class at an independent baby shop next week about returning to work and BFing and they offered to take a look at my Ergo to make sure I'm wearing it properly. I too subscribed to their daily emails and it is really tempting to buy everything!
GL on your road trip! We drove 17 hours to Canada and I was so worried that Selin was going to scream the entire time. She did amazingly well though and we also chose to leave at nighttime and I think that helped a lot because she pretty much slept until the sun came up. We stopped every few hours to eat and change/feed her and then she would play for a little bit and go right back to sleep. The hardest part for her was the last 1 to 1-1/2 hours of the ride because she was just plain tired of being in her car seat. If you search the board, I had posted a thread a few months back about tips for road trips and I got some great advice from there.
Cara - So glad to hear Tenley is gaining weight! You're doing a great job!
Amy - That is great that your DH is on board for TTC #2. You'll make the right decision either way. :-) How cute that Jensen is saying dada!! 6-8 kids? Holy cow!! I would love to have 4 kids but I think I could only get DH to agree on 3, unless he got a really great job making big bucks, lol.
Cassie - Hope Simon's appt went well! Poor baby!!
AFM - Thanks all for the rash advice. It seems to be getting better and I think it is just heat rash. We went to my cousin's house yesterday and she took a look at it and she said her kids got that all the time and a little cortizone always did the trick. I'm hesitant to put anything on Selin's skin though since she's so young so since it doesn't seem to be bothering her or getting any worse, I'm just going to let it be.
Today my mom and I went to the resale shop 'Once Upon a Child' and I got 2 onesies on clearnace for $.50/each and a long-sleeved swimsuit for $4.50!! Then we went to a resale shop next door and I got a top I can wear to work for just $7. I need to go through my closet to see what I have to wear to work because most of my tops are too tight in the bust area now. Grr...
Simon has a pretty nasty bacterial infection in his leg. So we are on antibiotics and a steriod cream. Hopfully it clears up soon. It is probably a secondary thing due to the eczema he has that has been pretty bad latly. She took a sample of it which made him pretty unhappy. He is up to 17lb 7.6oz. He is still acting pretty good even though you can tell that it where its all swollen hurts.
Send him some thoughts so it gets better soon. I feel really bad that I let it get that bad but the skin was looking so much better. :(
