Poor Simon! Sending lots of 'get well soon' vibes!!

Sounds like he has something similar to what I had, and I waited almost a week before I got checked out.

Oh no poor little guy!! Hope he gets better soon!!

AFM - I started feeling AF-y but thought after a m/c my cycle would go back to normal, just like with a chemical. Apparently not since I just started bleeding again. Ugh. Did not want to see AF so soon!

Hope Simon feels better

Amy- Packing with m/s doesn't sound fun. We moved while I was pregnant but I was 6 months and dh did almost everything. Although I was lucky with David and had no m/s. We'll see what happens the second time around. It will be our last so I'm trying to enjoy David and not hurry for the second one.

Well I stopped breastfeeding for good. I couldn't pump and when I did feed my breasts were empty within minutes and I had to supplement anyway. I was hoping to make it longer as formula isn't cheap but my body decided it was time to stop. I am happy I made it 7 months though and honestly didn't think I would make it this long. And I feel happy about getting my body back to myself. I mean since being pregnant and breastfeeding I haven't had it since March '09. So it will be nice. The downside is I just ordered 3 packs of mini pills so I am going to stay on those until I finish and then go back on the regular BCP until we want to TTC again which probably won't be until either late next year or early 2012.

I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. It's been a long week at work.

Thanks for the wonderful siggie Heather

Yay for 7 months of breast feeding!! It is definitely good to welcome AF back, as much as she stinks. My friend went 2 years with no AF thanks to extended breast feeding (even though she was only night nursing) and it really messed up her body and now she has to get on medication to get AF back and hope that helps. That's not the norm at all but they told her it's good to have an AF and the fact that she didn't full time breast feed and didn't have an AF wasn't good. Her and her husband want another one soon so on that aspect she definitely wanted AF back.

Sandy - what brand of formula do you buy? I usually get those "checks" for Similac in the mail and I just put them on Freecycle when I get a bunch saved up but I'd be happy to send them to you. I just got one in the mail this week for $5 off I think and it's good until October.

AFM - I feel like someone has put an evil eye on me with all these medical issues I've been having! I'm finally over my cold and hardly coughing now but yesterday, I started to get red blotches all over my body. It wasn't any better this morning so I got in with my derm doc and he immediately said that I was having an allergic reaction. We figured out that it was the 2nd antibiotic that my MW put me on for that nasty insect bite I had a few weeks ago. Fantastic. So now I'm hot and itchy and it appears it's best I don't take an antihistamine since I'm nursing so I'm just trying to wait it out. My doc said to stay cool and away from the sun so it looks like Selin and I will be staying indoors this weekend as it's been hot and sunny here. :-/

Christine- We've been buying store brand as it is the same stuff as the name brand stuff only cheaper. I really like the formula from Kroger so that is what we are using. It's only about $11.00 a can instead of like $22.00 for the Similac.

However I had been using formula for awhile as I had been giving him it 1x a day even when I was breastfeeding as he would wake up at night if I didn't give him a bottle before bed since about 5 months. I did use formula for a few days also before my milk came in as he was hungry. I used the free stuff the pediatrician gave us at his first visit and then some coupons I got in the mail and free stuff in the mail and now I am just using the store stuff. Formula isn't cheap and I'm glad I didn't have to give him formula when he wasn't on solids that is for sure. I only have to give him a few bottles a day and as he gets older it will be fewer and fewer.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Selin's big news!! While staying at my parents' house last week (we've been going back and forth between our house and theirs while DH is gone) we introduced the starter sippy cup with a little cold milk in it, like half an oz. She didn't object to it but couldn't really figure out how to get the milk out and was just chewing on the soft spout.

So I decided why not take the top off and try it like a regular cup? She liked it much better but the rim of the cup kept getting in the way when we'd tip it back so my mom brought out a small plastic medicine cup and it worked perfectly! Selin is so eager to drink out of it, we're just trying to work on her keeping it in her mouth as it seems to spill out from her bottom lip. She easily took a few oz this way, without protest! My mom and I were so relieved and were kicking ourselves for not trying it sooner. It's awesome that she'll now take it cold too!

Now if I could just find a new job, I'd be golden! :-)

Yay for taking some milk! Jensen won't drink anything cold still although on a hot day I can persuade him to take a few sips of luke warm water to keep him hydrated in between ba ba's. Now that we have an a/c however I rarely give him water to drink.

Hi girls! I still don't seem to find enough time for personals lately. We've been having a rough couple of weeks. DH has been incredibly busy at work in those horrible oil fields, sometimes getting home past midnight. Fede is mostly all right, but for some reason he's sleep habits are becoming weird.
He started waking up a lot at night a couple of months ago, so we decided to get him out of our bed, thinking that maybe he needed more space. But although he falls asleep fin in his bed, after 4 hours he wakes up fussy and although I nurse him and make him sleep again, he keeps waking up every hour. So although we sleep, it's a very interrupted sleep, and I'm beginning to feel very tired.
Besides, I think my thyroid is giving me some trouble. My sister was talking to me the other day and in the middle of the conversation, she said "I can see your thyroid moving while you talk.. so she checked it by hand, and told me that it was a little enlarged. She ordered me some blood tests, which I'll do this week and we'll take it from there. It was a matter of time really, my grandma, two aunts, some cousins and my sister all have hypothyroidism, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It makes sense though, besides the tiredness, I've also had some blue moods, so this could be the explanation.
Anyways, wish me luck, I know it's not a metter of life and death, but I really want to keep myself healthy.

On a happier note, we had 2 snow days this week! About 3 inches of snow and below zero temps! Everything looked so beautiful!! I know some of you must be laughing inside at the "3in" of snow, but hey! that's as snowy as you can get around here!!!
Fede with his "Antarctica outfit":
