Ashley- pumping is hard work. I am pumping now to try and get my supply back but I will just FF him at daycare. They said I can take supplements and stuff but I have pumped for 7 mo straight already and it's just so much work. I was all ready to stop breastfeeding and I don't know if my hormones took over or what. I realized I wasn't ready to stop and I was going to make this work. I am determined to BF as long as I can now either until I run out of milk or until my son turns a year. Logan is so cute. We started David on solids at 4 1/2 mos only b/c he was such a hungry baby it helped him sleep more. He still gets up but only once now to eat and go back to bed. hopefully he'll grow out of it soon.
Plus I was ultra full and I am like if I am ultra full why am I stopping? If I had no milk that is one thing but that wasn't the case. I then talked to the LC and she said the thing that my son was doing is normal for 8 mo olds. He was being distracted and I thought it was that he wasn't getting enough milk and it was issues with my supply.
Well I have to get back to work so I will do more later.

So yesterday was actually Jensen's appointment. He weighs 17.9 lbs and is 27 in long! He had to get 2 shots and the oral vaccine again. This time as soon as the doctor left and the nurse came in he started fussing. This time the shots were much better. He started crying with the oral vaccine, knowing what was coming next. But this was a different nurse and while she was fast, she didn't stab him in the leg so he did his little meltdown and the after kisses and snuggles from mom he was perfectly fine. Rob was at work so my dad had driven me and when we went out in the waiting room I handed him to dad while I made another appointment and Jensen sat there whining to dad, and dad would respond with "They did what to you?!" and "I can't believe they gave you a shot!" and everyone in the waiting room thought that was pretty funny. On the drive home he laughed and babbled and yelled for "dada" all the way home. And when we got home Rob was waiting in the driveway to take Jensen and give me a hug because he knows how I hate seeing Jensen get shots. I really do love that man.
However Jensen was awful last night. We knew it was the shots but he has NEVER been like that before. He would NOT go to sleep. Finally we tried putting him in bed with us to help him sleep and he LOST IT. He did NOT want to go to bed but it was 11:30pm, Rob had to work in the morning, and I was running out of ideas. So some more tylenol and mommy and baby in the living room with a 4 oz ba ba finally did the trick. Or so I thought. He woke up EVERY HOUR, SCREAMING at the top of his lungs. Not his "I'm upset"cry, but his "OMFG I AM IN PAIN, GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE NOW!!" turns out he was just rolling onto his stomach. Normally when he does this he just goes back to sleep, but last night apparently being on his tummy was the end of the world. And he kept rolling in his sleep. All. Night. Long. When I woke up this morning I soon discovered why. At first I thought he had gotten a bug bite, but upon closer inspection I saw that one of his shot owies was actually all red and a little swollen. I was told this is normal for some babies, and he did get a different set of shots this time, but it still upset me to see. This is probably the first time I have ever regretted him getting his vaccinations. So I gave him some tylenol at nap time so he could sleep and he slept his normal 2 1/2 hours and woke up in a great mood just in time for daddy to have gotten home and had a little break to himself also. We'll probably give him some more tylenol at bedtime as it makes him sleepy and I don't want to throw off his schedule unless he really really needs some tylenol (like we had to do yesterday which caused him to nap from 6-8 and then not want to go to bed at bedtime of course). Right now he is playing in his exersaucer and begging dad for some chips so it's all good for now.
In other news I have decided to go to school for sonography!! I am so excited about it and will look into going next year!

I forgot all about the siggy, I'm uploading my pic now! :)
Sorry I'm so behind on personals again, I just can't seem to keep up. Just wanted to post a little update, T has become a rolling machine! She started rolling front to back on the 14th and then last night started rolling back to front! Now she's just all over the place between her scooting, rolling and spinning around on the floor!
Cara- Glad to hear that Tenley is gaining weight!
Ella - Thanks for your support. I hate the awful feeling I get in my gut every time I think about returning to work but I just keep telling myself that nothing is permanent and things will change for the better soon. I just saw the pictures on your blog from your vacation - looks so nice and relaxing!! Eliza is so photogenic. :-)
Ruby - Sounds like you had an awesome weekend! Now that I've got the BFing/drinking myths cleared up (from my other thread) I can't wait to indulge in a drink!
Sandy - Way to go on continuing to BF. I'm so glad it's still working for you. You're doing great!! Btw, what brought you guys to Indiana with your family being so far-flung?
Mari - Hope the doc will be able to help you with Fede's sleep issues!
Ashley - Selin does the same thing with her sippy cup. So far, I've only tried the Gerber Nuk starter cup. She will drink from a little medicine cup although most of it ends up on her bib. She is eager though! I can't believe our babies are 5 mos old!!
Amy - I can't believe Jensen is talking already! Amazing! Congrats on going back to school! Forgive my ignorance, but is sonography the same as ultrasounds? Sounds very cool! I hope Jensen is feeling better now. Knock on wood, Selin has yet to have any adverse reactions to her vaccines as long as we space them out. We usually do 2 or 3 the day of the checkup and then I take her back 1-2 weeks later for the rest.
Cara - I can't believe Tenley is rolling already! Selin didn't roll over until 4 months and a few days old. Now I can't take my eyes off her for one second because she's so mobile!
Suzie - How are you liking your Ergo? I just ordered the chewing pads from BRU because Selin is constantly chewing/sucking on the sides. The class was good but didn't really give me a lot of info I didn't already know from attending LLL meetings. I ended up being the only person there but the owner of the shop still held the class anyway so it was very casual. She suggested I buy a band to wear for hands-free pumping and man, am I glad I did! I've been using it at home when I pump and it is amazing how much faster the time goes by when I can use my hands for something else! This is the one I bought: http://www.easyexpressionproducts.com/products/view/2
AFM - Today was a crappy day. I was feeling down to begin with, then Selin and I almost got into an accident because some jerk decided to zip across the road in his car just as I was about to cross his path (I had the right of way). Thank god I was paying attention and slammed on the brakes or I would've been broad-sided. Then I come home to an email from HR saying I wasn't selected for that PT position I interviewed for last week. I ranted more about it in the Mommy Chat - Summer Edition thread so I won't go into detail here.
Suzie - A friend of a friend said "You don't afford kids silly, you LOVE them". I have heard statistically speaking after kid #3 the impact goes down a TON. All you need is a bigger car, but the kid gets the hand me down clothes, the hand me down toys, etc. I was the middle child and I looked forward to getting my older sisters things so I don't think that will be an issue. Of course should anything financially devastating happen we won't continue, but we have decided not to say a number, so go until we are done. Really I think we will end up with 4 or 5.
Christine - Yeah it is ultra sounds. I would love to work in an OB/GYN's office, or midwives and get to see all the babies. I know the job is real work, not all fun and games, and I know sometimes that means being exposed to couples and having to tell the Dr I can't find a heart beat, or I found a defect, but all jobs have their downsides. And before this I could think of nothing at all I really wanted to do. I am very excited about it! And we just get shots every 2 months, but of course that means every Drs visit includes shots and Jensen is getting quite traumatized about going poor thing. I hope Selin never has an adverse reaction! They really stink!
Christine- My husband got a job here with the CBS TV station in Indianapolis. We will be here 3 years in October. We lived in Corpus Christi, TX for 3 years before that starting in July 2004. And before that we lived in Toledo, Ohio after we graduated from college in December 1999. My family lives in Cleveland and my husband's grandparents, his one aunt and his other aunt and uncle live in Mansfield which is halfway between Cleveland and Columbus.
My in laws moved to Leesburg, Florida in September 2003 because the company my father in law was working for at the time (Sprint) they transferred him there. They have been there ever since. He was laid off his job last fall as they decided to close his location. We are hoping maybe they could move up here but they really have no $ as he has no job and my mother in law can't work as she's on disability. They would probably end up with us and we only have 1 extra bedroom which will be used when we have our second child. It is a guest bedroom now. so for now they are in Fla. Hoping they will move up here eventually though as it would be closer to everyone.
Anyway sorry for the book but you asked. I don't have much time to update now as David's asleep and trying to get some other stuff done.
Hope everyone's having a great weekend.
Hi All! I’m so sorry it’s been so long… AGAIN! We’ve been ridiculously busy house hunting. I also seem to have trouble posting a lot these days too. No idea if it’s my computer or IVillage.
Our lil farm house is fine, but the owners were dropping hints that we may have to move by the end of August, but they’d give us 30 days notice.
