Mandy- Happy belated Birthday to Izzie. Did she have fun at her party? How does she like school so far?

Amy- It seems like most babies say Dada first, over Mama. I know my boys did, and I am not thinking this baby will be any different.

Sandy- What exactly are you doing to night potty train?

Alyssa- Evan sounds a lot like Lucas. He is always getting into something that he knows that he shouldn't be.

Liz- What a wild imagination Peter seems to have.

Ruth- I can't believe she actually told you that she leaves the kids in the cribs all day long and just watches tv. wth?

Kate- Brycen seems to be saying more and more words everyday now as well. Is Teddy still receiving Early Intervention Therapies? That is so scary about Teddy maybe having a seizure.

CassieJ- Your vacation coming up sounds so nice.

Katja- I can't believe Eric is already 1 month old. That is great he is on a schedule now, it makes things so much easier on Mommy and Baby.

CassieL- Simon sounds like such a big boy now. Who told him he could grow up so fast? I can't wait until the diaper free days.

Katie- That is awesome that Zaydren is showing interest in the potty already. Maybe he will be potty trained early!

Andi- A roadtrip sounds fun. Are the girls good travelers?

Erica- How is it that Charlotte is already 1?

Mari- Haha. That is to funny about Fede scaring Julia when she is in the PNP or stroller.

Morgan- Max sounds like such a sweet little boy.

Jessica- No way! I can't believe Gabby is turning 2.

Ella- We have been having a lot of those "what are we doing having another baby" moments lately, with how Lucas has been acting. He has been testing my patience, that is for sure.

Christine- How is Selin doing with the Potty training now?

Name/SO's Name: Cheryl/ Kevin

Children's names and ages: Lucas (28 months), Brycen ( 17 months)

Any new milestones or fun stories: We've started Potty training Lucas. We have been working on it for a few weeks now. He was using the pull up pretty much as a diaper,so we ditched those and have been using undies. He loves wearing big boy undies, and says diapers are for babies. LOL. He still pees in his undies sometimes, but overall has been doing pretty good.

Brycen is so close to walking. He will take 5 or 6 steps and then fall down. He PT really thinks in the next few weeks or so he will be full on walking.

What are you looking forward to this month: Fall getting closer.

Just for fun, complete this phrase - "Before I had kids, I thought I was busy (haha, yeah right!)

Baths- We used one of those baby buckets (called a tummy tub) http://www.amazon.com/Original-Tummy-Baby-Bath-Clear/dp/B000VS3C2E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344778478&sr=8-1&keywords=tummy+tub . And it was great! Babies love being in them and they are super safe and easy to use. I already have it out for the next one. After he was bigger and more aware I started using something like this http://www.amazon.com/PRI-Infant-Bath-Seat-White/dp/B000BXJZDY/ref=sr_1_5?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1344778576&sr=1-5&keywords=bath+seat seat prop, and then once he was sitting he just started taking normal baths.

Toddlers 2/3- I so feel you on this ladies! On the one hand it is SO great to really watch that independence take hold and for Teddy to start having his own ideas about how the world works and how he can interact with it. On the other hand sometimes being part of this journey and staying patient and positive and understanding is SO hard when it is only 10:30 in the morning and you have already had what feels like a 100 discussions/messes/arguments/pushes for correct behavior/etc. If you can try and get some toddler free time- I know I always come back feeling so refreshed and totally ready to tackle this time with Teddy. I know you all are doing a great job!

Twins- I can't say I am surprised :smileyvery-happy: But I really enjoyed reading your blog post on why it changed your feelings!

Erica - How exciting about your homeschool co-op! How did the meeting go? And how is your LLL group doing?

Katja - The pictures of Eric are adorable! And you look amazing!

Cheryl - PTing is getting better. Thankfully she got right back on track after vacation. Still having the occasional accident here and there. She's still in pull-ups at sleep times and when we're in the car for a long time though she's been dry at naptime for awhile now.

Ash - Can't believe you're so close! Will your mom be coming to visit soon?

AFM - Looks like we might be moving Selin to a big girl bed soon. Friends of ours are moving overseas and gave us their DD's bed and Selin was totally excited when DH brought it home last night. We still have to buy a bed rail and assemble it so not sure if we'll get it up this weekend (DH is working today) but hopefully the transition will go well. She's already saying "cribs are for babies" and that her crib will be for her brother or sister. On that note, we started TTC this weekend! Hoping to get lucky on the first try again. ;-)

Katja--

Have you tried sticking the baby bath over your kitchen sink and using the sink sprayer with warm water? It was the only way Peter was happy in the bath as a baby. That way, he never got cold. I kept the plug out of the bottom so it didn't get too deep, and just sprayed with one hand and washed with the other.

Christine, thanks for asking! My homeschool meeting was FANTASTIC. I left feeling SO inspired and ready for the school year. We have some great field trips planned, and the co-op itself is going to be just what we needed. This term we will be covering Bible, some history, geography, phys. ed., and art. There will also be time for snack, lunch, and free play.

LLL is going pretty well. I'm a little discouraged that we have the same four moms at every meeting, but I'm thankful for those ladies. They make a great core group. I keep reminding myself that we haven't even advertised yet, so it's no wonder we don't have many people. I'm still hunting for a spot to be our official meeting place. The church didn't work out due to insurance issues, and the library cost $60 for one hour!!!!! Too much if you ask me. As soon as we have a real "home" for our group, I will make fliers and business cards. Hopefully that will help.

In other news, Fletcher has an eye doctor appointment, and I need some extra prayers for this visit. One of Fletcher's eyes crosses (strabismus). When he has his glasses on, he looks totally fine, but we are working toward correcting the problem beyond the glasses. We felt really good about the treatment plan back in PA, but after our first visit with a doctor here in FL, we didn't really feel like we were on the same page. I hope today makes things a little clearer.

Any new milestones or fun stories:  He is definitely starting to "talk" more and more.  I put this in quotes because his actual number of words is still not a lot, but it seems like all day he is using sign language and pantomime to communicate with me--he wants me to say in words what he's trying to sign . . . today before lunch he was really hungry because he skipped snack and I came back in the living room from the kitchen and whined at me, pointed back to the kitchen and did the sign for "cooking"---LOL--I was like: "You want me to finish cooking lunch so you can eat?"  (BIG NOD)  LOL.   So his ideas are getting more and more complex which is really fun.  He has actually started to use real words more also--he is saying "Daddy" now when he sees James which is really fun for James.

What are you looking forward to this month:  James' cousin with twins is having their first birthday party on Sunday, I'm excited to see the kiddos and let them play together!

Just for fun, complete this phrase - "Before I had kids, I thought: "kids don't eat that much anyway"   HA!

Hi all!

I've been avoiding this post for a while, kind of a denial thing...

There is something about Julia. For a long time now, I've noticed that her soft spot in her head is too small. At least really small compared to the one Fede had. I aske d her pediatrician about it last wednesday. and he said that he too was worried about her head. That the shape wasn't as round as it should be and that he was worried that her scalp sutures were closing too fast. Since I asked pretty openly he answered too... His diagnosis for now is plagiocephaly, with a chance of craniosynostosis. In the first case, it can usually be trated with a baby helmet. In the second case... there is need of neurosurgery....

On one side I am so scared of the posibility of surgery. On the other, if that's what she needs I want to find out NOW, because the risk of brain damage scares me even more.

Please pray for my baby!

Oh, Mari - so sorry for the news about Julia. Will you go to a specialist to confirm the diagnosis? I do understand how you'd want to find out NOW, even if it's scary. Just know that the younger neurosurgery is done, the more likely the brain will recover completely. Other areas of the brain can compensate for what might be taken out.

I'll keep you and Julia in my thoughts, and please keep us posted.
