Ruth - oh sorry, I was thinking of the whale tub we had - it had an insert thing in the middle that our girls really couldn't arch themselves over. I hear ya on the kitchen sink... I'm not a huge fan either, but it's a back saver sometimes! (I bleached our sink regularly)  :smileywink:  I gave J a bath tonight and she refused to sit down, so she got a bath standing up while I held her under the armpit to make sure she wouldn't fall. So annoying! Let us know what kind of solutions you come up with!

Ruthie,

We used a Safety 1st Tub Seat when Selin became too big for her whale tub. We used it until well beyond her 1st year.

Amazon is showing its out of stock but we got ours from BRU. GL!

Andi, every time I read your blog I'm left with a smile on my face and misty eyes.... You write so well!!!!!

That part about not being your babies' #1 anymore.... Sometimes when Fede comes and kisses me or hugs me or show his love for me in any way I catch myself tinking "one day he will meet a wonderful girl and she will be his big love..." and it brakes my heart a little. Of course I mentally slap myself, because I HATE that kind of jealous mother, and I will do everything in my power not to be one. But I can see where they come from....

Thankfully I'm still Julia's big love. So I'm enjoying that as much as I can!

Ruth - I was a fan of the sink as well... but then I picked up a plastic bucket from home depot for like $5 and used that. It worked awesome. And so much cheaper than the alternatives. It's better however once they can sit up better - as before he could sit well it took two of us to use it and I preferred his bath seat in the big tub.

Kate - WHen you first said "home depot" bucket I was thinking the orange one....but that would be way too tall. so this is much better.

Ruth - I think Carly or Adrienne used something like a "bucket" but it was specifically made for baby baths. If I remember it was something like this: http://www.amazon.com/European-Upright-Baby-Bath-Tub/dp/B001AJ69CS but Kate's idea of a normal bucket is a lot cheaper :smileyhappy:

Ohmigosh, bucket o' baby! Hahaha, that is the funniest thing! I wonder if I could get my kids to stand in it holding the sides and then I could give them a baby shower. Hmmmm....

Oh yeah so much cheaper. Adreienne had/has the bucket and I loved the idea, but I couldn't spend that amount on bucket.

A friend of mine is going to be a FTM and she got a baby bath that is also a scale. I'm not really keen on this idea. There is so much to worry about when they are first born, I think I would drive myself nutty if I could weigh baby all the time.

Hi, everyone!
Just a quick check-in. I'm really, really excited about a "Meeting of the Moms" tonight for our homeschool co-op. All the moms (and dads if available) are getting together to coordinate our calendars and settle on a few field trip dates, etc. It feels like after months of thinking, deciding, and planning, we are finally making this dream a reality for our family. Yay!!!! Our kick-off picnic for the co-op is Aug. 25, so my family is going to begin homeschool on the 22nd. Jonah begins preschool on the 27th, so I figured having a few days of homeschool before he goes back would help him feel involved. We are setting up a special place for our materials. When it is all done, I'll share pics! The kids are so, so excited. :smileyhappy:

For those of you with kiddos in the 2-3 age range having trouble, I hope that the phase passes quickly for you!

Christine- I don't think I'd be able to be mad for long either when she apologizes for not listening!  How sweet!

Ella- I've always said I want four kiddos, but that was before I had any!  At this stage Eric is still easy since he is portable and does whatever I want/need him to, but I'm sure I will question my desire for a large family once he is older and much more work!  Already, though, the sweet moments like when he smiles at me in the middle of the night make me want ten just like him, so I can understand the back and forth!

Jess- That story about Gabby is so cute!  I love that she is so into art and it is great that she is making the transition so well.

Erica- Have fun at your co-op meeting!  It sounds like it is a really supportive and active group, which is going to make the homeschool experience so much more fun for your kids!  It seems like the perfect balance-- homeschool where you can really customize education and inforce values, plus the social aspect of being with other children and families and trying different activities.  It is hard to believe that school starts so soon, summer has flown by!

Andi- That is wonderful that you found out the girls are identical!

Ruth- I'm glad that you settled on a daycare provider.  It seems like a really great place where the person in charge is caring and competent.  It will be a nice balance along with Bijon's parents.

Kate- I hope Teddy is alright and that it is just teething that is bothering him!  That idea with the bucket is fantastic!  I think when Eric is a little stronger he would really like being bathed like that.  As of now he is miserable in the bath unless he is really immersed in the water.  He doesn't like to be exposed or cold at all.

Hi to everyone else, I hope you are all doing well!

AFM- We went to my sister-in-law's wedding this past weekend and it was so beautiful.  It was great because Eric got to meet three of his great-granparents, one of which is 94.  She was so happy to hold him.  It really was adorable.  We had his one month check-up this past week, and boy has he grown!  He is 22.5 inches and 11 lbs 6 oz.... 90th percentile for both height and weight!  He has developed some pretty severe baby acne, but the pediatrician said it should start to fade in a few weeks and that it shouldn't bother him.  My DH has one more week of work and then is on vacation- I'm so excited to have that time together!
