Name/SO's Name: Jessica & Mike

Children's names and ages: Gabriella 23.5 months - she will be 2 on August 18th! EEK!!!

Any new milestones or fun stories: This girl is so smart! I am just amazed at her memory. She now LOVES pony tails and pig tails and most mornings we have to do her hair. I am in total heaven.

What are you looking forward to this month: I feel like a broken record but we are hoping for our remodel to be FINALLY done.

Just for fun, complete this phrase - "Before I had kids, I thought _______" Before I had kids I thought parents were crazy when their kids kept saying their name over and over again and they ignored them. I totally understand now!

Waving Hi to everyone.

I do have a question for you all with 2yr olds and above. Gabby seems to be showing what I think are OCD tendencies, but I am wondering if it's just her development and learning. Mike had her pick out books the other night and laid 6 books out (titles towards him) on our ottoman rocker thing in her room. She turned them all around and lined them all up. She now HAS to do this every night. Her animals in her crib (she has like 7 of them) have to be in specific spots when she goes to bed. Her blanket has to be just right or she tells me "mama fix" if it's not. It has to cover her shoulders and her toes. When she puts stuff away it has to go in it's specific spot. and she is really particular about where her milk, food etc goes on her tray. Her tray has to be clean. when going to bed it always has to be the same routine. and if she doesn't go down right away (like tonight) and I start the rocking, then I have to sing Ants go Marching, then put her in her crib get her blanket just right. Then I have to sing Twinkle Twinkle little star and then ABC's.

I think I just try to make her put her stuff away and keep a routine at night, so I don't think I should worry but part of me does. Since I have some OCD habits and so does DH. thoughts?? TIA

Name/SO's Name: Morgan and AJ

Children's names and ages: Halley (8) and Max (13 months)

Any new milestones or fun stories: Halley got her cast off like a month ago and will be going back to school this month. Her attitude was pretty bad when she had her cast on, but now seems to be back to her (mostly) easygoing disposition. She is definitely starting to show some pre-teen tendencies.

Max can say mama, dada, book, ball, bear, "bum" (for this bumblebeebear that is at my mom's), hi. He has now gone pee on the potty 6ish times in the past week or two. We've just been sitting him on it before his bath, and he usually goes right away. We're still not sure if it's intentional or not, but we're just going with the flow. He has been a full time walker for like a month and has mastered walking with shoes on lol. He has been pointing a lot recently, and patty-caking with clapping and does this "roll it" motion that I find so cute. He'll wave and say hi when you say hi. When you say good job, he claps. And my mom taught him this, when you ask him how big he is, he will throw his hands up in the air, and you have to say "soooo big" lol.

What are you looking forward to this month: well, my birthday is the 23rd

Just for fun, complete this phrase: Before I had kids, I thought I was tired all the time.

Name/SO's Name: Mari and Mati

Children's names and ages: Fede, 2 1/2yo; Julia, 4m

Any new milestones or fun stories: Julia turns over, lifts herself while on tummy time and laughs out LOUD!! She is so funny to hear. Fede cracks me up every day, he is finally reached the point of adding more than 5 words a day, and it is so funny to see how he puts them together! Something funny that comes to mind is his "tough love" for Julia, because everytime he wants to caress or kiss her, he ends up hurting her without meaning it. Anyways, he has this way, where he sneaks up to the edge of the PNP or stroller and says "chititiiiiitaaaa..." (chiquitita=little one) and Julia opens up her eyes so huge, like panicked, she only needs to shout "Mom, here's that crazy kid again, HELP!!!!!"

What are you looking forward to this month: Julia's baptism, next saturday

Just for fun, complete this phrase - "Before I had kids, I thought _______" That I knew what a full heart meant.

Oh!, and that I couldn't put my hands in poop or I would die! LOL!

Erica, I think that with such weird symptoms and 36 hours of fever, it would be a good idea to take her to the Dr. Just to be on the safe side. I hope she feels better soon!!!

Katie- That's totally awesome. I pulled the potty seat out for David at 15 months but didn't expect anything but he ended up training by 2. Some kids are just ready earlier than others.

So sorry Erica. Hope she feels better soon. David was sick yesterday. He threw up at daycare after his nap and then twice last night. But he woke up feeling fine and has eaten and is fine so far. We went to the baseball game Monday and he ate a lot of junk and I wonder if that is what did it. But why was it a day later and both times he got sick it was 2-3 hrs after he ate. I don't think it was a virus bc I think he would have gotten sick more as last time he had one he did. I stayed home from work today. He seems his normal self and says his stomach is fine. Meanwhile I was a nervous wreck yesterday and I am trying so hard to make this a stress free pregnancy but it's not working. I wasn't even hungry I was so upset and lately I eat constantly.

Name/SO's Name:  Erica/Cory

Children's names and ages: Fletcher, almost 7; Jonah, 4; Charlotte, 1

Any new milestones or fun stories: Since turning one last month, Charlotte has begun saying "kitty cat," "bye," "da-da," and "ma-ma."  She is walking more and more, but I wouldn't call her a walker yet.  She walked unassisted across the entire livingroom once.  Jonah definitely regressed in potty training when we first began our PA trip, but he is doing great now.  In over two weeks, he had one accident, and that was because DH was in the bathroom.  Fletcher has become a pretty good swimmer this summer.  I'm excited for him!

What are you looking forward to this month: Settling back in our FL home, starting homeschooling.

Just for fun, complete this phrase - "Before I had kids, I thought _I would DIE if someone threw up on me!______"

The mystery of Charlotte's illness continues.  Like I said on the other thread, she had a stuffy nose on Saturday, but she was otherwise normal.  She woke up Sunday and immediately threw up, but the rest of the day went normally.  She had a great appetite and her usual cheery disposition.  On Monday, we went to see my parents one last time before Florida, and Charlotte had a great day playing with cousins and eating well, etc.  However, when we got back to my in-laws', Cory took Charlotte out of her carseat, and she was on FIRE.  I haven't actually taken her temp, but she is hot.  I've been giving her ibuprofen.  The fever responds to the medicine, but as soon as the dose is up, the fever is back.

Yesterday, I learned that the little girl that Charlotte played with last week has Hand Foot & Mouth Disease.  I checked Charlotte's mouth, and all I could see was a big, fat molar breaking through.  I'm hoping that the tooth is causing the fever, but I'm kind of freaking out.  It's been almost 36 hours of fever.  We were supposed to drive to FL today, but we are postponing until tomorrow (maybe).
