Name/SO Name: Erica & Cory
Children's Names and Ages: Fletcher, 7; Jonah, 4; Charlotte, 17 months
Milestones: Charlotte is adding new words all the time. So exciting! She says "Uh Oh" as clear as can be, and it's adorable. She has started to say "flower," and she is so proud of herself.
Looking forward to this month? Traveling back to PA to be with our families for Christmas.
Name/SO's Name: Suzie and Joe Children's names and ages: Grey, 2.75 ;) Any new milestones or fun stories: Grey is so excited for Christmas. The other night, DH turned on Christmas music and Grey was so excited he ran a few laps around the house shouting: yay! Christmas music! What are you looking forward to this month: Seeing family! :)
Any new milestones or fun stories: We told Selin about the baby this weekend and first she said she wanted to "open my belly so she could see the baby" and then she peeked down my shirt thinking she could see it that way. LOL
What are you looking forward to this month: Christmas break from school, looking at a preschool for Selin, ringing in a new year!
Hi, Suzie. Sounds like you are going to have a fun Christmas with Grey. Such a great age!
Christine, I can't believe that it is time to be thinking about preschool for Selin. She is growing up so fast. I, too, am looking forward to a new year. I love the start of new things.
I am so disappointed by the lack of activity here. We had a bustling, lively, amazing community one day, and the next day it disappeared. Such a shame. I know that a lot of the iVillage boards have dwindled over the years, but this one has always been strong through the ups and downs. I do hope it recovers.
Hi ladies! Yah, it's just a pain to come here now and I'm sad to lose touch with so many people. :(
Just a quick update on us, all is going well. The girls turned 18 months this last week and we have one mega walker and one mega talker. Elia has over 50 words now but isn't much interested in walking. She cruises a little, but would rather sit with her books or toys and play. We still see a PT and she doesn't feel like it is worth pushing her to walk more as its clear she has the skills and strength, she's just cautious and not that interested. Juliette on the other hand is running around all over the place but only has about 15 words. For being identical twins, these two couldn't be more different. ;) I've been super busy with a lot of changes going on at my work so it's been hard to find much free time to post, not to mention the difficulties with the board. I try to keep up with those of you who I know have blogs, but hello to the rest of you - miss you guys!
Hi all - wow, this board is so quiet these days. Is there anyone else who doesn't have any problems logging in/posting/etc.? I really haven't had any issues, but clearly I'm in the minority.
Anyway, in case you missed it, I had a m/c about a week ago. I had an initial u/s a couple weeks ago and they found the heartbeat was slow and the baby was measuring small. A week later, another u/s confirmed the baby was gone. I started bleeding the next day, but a couple days later the bleeding got out of hand and I ended up in the ER and got a somewhat-emergency D&C. So, it was a rough go, but I'm finally feeling better physically and getting there emotionally. Not sure when we'll start TTC again - maybe January or February cycle, depending on how the timing works.
Otherwise, things are chugging along. Evan is going crazy with his vocabulary and putting sentences together. It's so cute when he REALLY wants to say something that he has to repeat things over and over, while he gets louder and louder, until it all comes out. Definitely a fun age.
Alyssa - I'm still having sporadic issues with the board. For a short time I was able to do the Quick Reply through my phone but now that button has stopped working. And today it wouldn't let me update the front pages of chats. Grr. I'm so sorry to hear you ended up in the ER and hope you're on the road to recovery now. Has your doc suggested any different protocols for the next TTC cycle, like progesterone, etc?
Andi - I've been checking in to your blog every now and then. The girls just keep getting cuter and cuter!!
Erica - I too feel sad that our little community here has pretty much come to a standstill. We just gotta keep posting and keep it going!
Has anyone heard from Mari? I know she was going to be without internet after her move but I thought it was only going to be for 2 weeks?
AFM - We went to look at a preschool for Selin on Friday and she loved it. The teachers were great and invited her to come sit in a circle with the kids and she just fit right in. While touring the rest of the school she kept asking to go back to the classroom, lol.
We haven't put any money down yet because my DH has started job hunting and is applying for jobs in the US and overseas so we have to wait and see what next year brings. While I'm worried about having to tell my parents if we do end up moving (I'm their only child and they would be absolutely devastated if we moved, esp. overseas) I am looking forward to a change for DH so he can get the salary he so desperately deserves. He's been with the same company for 10 years and there's not really any more room for growth for him, not to mention his company has cut all benefits so the pressure will always be on me to provide insurance for our family. At least I'll always have you girls no matter where we live! ;-)
Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and New Years!!
-Suzie :)
