Em - Omg, that is too funny about "the wife" question from Nate!! LOL
Question for mommies of 2-3 yo's...did/does your child stutter sometimes?
Selin has always has great language skills but when we were on vacation back in August, I noticed she was getting tongue tied. We brought it up at her 30 month appt. at the end of Aug. and our ped said to keep an eye on it but that it was normal for her age. She said if it was getting progressively worse by her 3 year appt then she would re-evaluate.
Well since then it has been on and off. Some weeks she doesn't stutter at all. The ped said it is like their brains are running faster than their mouths and that we just need to tell her to slow down. DH brought it up again this weekend and thinks it's cause for concern but I don't think it's any worse than it was in August. Our sitter also said a former family of hers had the same issue with their 3yo and everything turned out fine. Is stuttering normal or cause for concern?

Children's names and ages: Evan, 2 years
Any new milestones or fun stories: He's asking "what's that?" and "why?" more and more. He also likes being "tested" on colors and names of things. When he guesses wrong and we correct him, he says "oh" in such a cute way, and then moves on to the next thing!
What are you looking forward to this month: Next week is CRAZY at work, so I'm looking forward to that being over. I have my first MW appointment on the 23rd then first u/s on the 29th, as long as everything goes well.

Andi- good for the little walkers!!!!
Ella- "the door of the rocks"… Funny, but unless you know what she's talking about it IS kind of creepy!!! I can't believe our kids are turning 3!!!
Em- "the wife" is having a baby this month!!!
Christine- A friend's daughter had the same issues. Then her baby sister was born and it got a little worse. This child is probably THE most intelligent kid I've ever met, and they also told them that her brain was going too fast! Anyways, sewent to speech therapy for a couple of months and totally got over it!
Alyssa- I was a little late on the congratulatios, but I really hope this pregnancy goes perfectly!!
AFM- I told you some about our kids sleep issues…
We tried moving Julia to Fede's room. It was a partial success.
The good thing is that she sleeps perfectly well in the crib (and I'm heartbroken in mine, but whatever). She nurses at 11, and does a long stretch until 4am. Then she wakes up and wants to nurse again, and usually sleeps until 6am. I'm kind of happy with that except that I HATE to BF sitting up in the middle of the night. I suppose my lazy self was too used to nurse in my sleep…
Fede on the other hand didn't change a bit. Even with Julia in his room he still wakes up and goes to our room. Some times our brain cells connect and we actually get out of bed and lead him back to his. But honestly, most of the times we are so tired that we don't even register that he's with us until he kicks us or stretches or something.
I'm trying to be cool about this. We (DH and I) have been so tired lately and there is so much stuff going on yet (DH's post grad program finishes this month, we have to move and we're almost about to start the construction of the house). So my plan is to wait until things are calmer and then get serious about stopping Fede's "visits" during the night.
Other than that, we are OK. A little crazy about the mentioned stuff, but nothing to worry about.

Children's names and ages: Peter, 26 months. Addie, 5 weeks.
Any new milestones or fun stories: Peter was deemed "super awesome" by his doctor this week. He's verbally around the 3 y/os at daycare, and his teachers say he's one of the smartest kids they've ever had. I'm terrified of the future. He potty trained himself, except that he likes to pee in his pants and tell us he's doing it when he gets mad at us. Addie is a baby. She's growing. I'll post a little below about what's been going on with her (and why I've been off the boards still).
What are you looking forward to this month: Enjoying my last few weeks of leave. I go back Dec 3, but we're considering again me staying home (I'll work the month of December at least).
Ok, I posted last week that Addie was struggling with weight gain. We've finally got things turned around (she gained 26oz in 17 days), but I still have to wake her for nearly every feeding. I'll let her go 4-5 hours at night, but we aim for 3 hours during the day. At this point, we're just waiting on her to learn to wake when she's hungry. And she's exclusively breastfed now, but some of that is supplemented from bottles. With domperidone and herbs, I have enough of a supply that she's able to transfer more milk, but she's still short about 6oz a day. I'm pumping around 12oz or so though over the course of the day, so at least I'm building a freezer supply. It's just exhausting. She also wakes up around 3 and stays up until 6am 4-5 mornings a week.
Ok, I need to go pump again. Sigh. I'll attach a picture from today at least.
Oh, and sorry I missed my week with the blog. Can someone let me know when I need to make a post? :)

Any new milestones or fun stories: He has started grabbing things and putting everything in his mouth. He has also started real belly laughs, which is so cute!
What are you looking forward to this month: Going to the Pats v. Jets game with DH on Thanksgiving night!
Sorry I've been MIA. I have to go back and catch up on what you ladies have been up to! We finally got our power back today-- I will be very excited to go home. We have been staying with my parents, which has been really nice, but I will be glad to have back our own space. With the storm we ended up having to cancel Eric's baptism. A big mess but now it is all figured out and rescheduled for december. Eric has been doing very well. He got his first ear infection and we are working on getting rid of that now. He is still such a happy baby and I have been loving all the progress he has been making. He is just getting to be so much fun. He is still a huge guy. 19 lbs and we think around 27 inches. He is almost out of 9 month clothing. I've been trying to get out more to meet other moms but it has been hard. I definitely need to get a good group of mom friends, though, because being home all of the time makes me a bit lonely. Anyway, everything else is going well and I'm excited to read how everyone is doing!
Christine, we have the exact same issue with Nate. He also has great language skills, but started to stutter in the spring and it comes and goes. Our Dr also said it's just his brain working faster than he can talk. He told us to make sure that we speak slowly to him (not unnaturally slowly, just not really quickly) and to make sure we give him enough time to get his thoughts out and not to finish sentences for him. It has definitely decreased in the last little while but he still does it if he's really excited. I also did some reading on it on my own and it does seem to be fairly common.
