Christine - I hope the checkup for Selin goes well....

AFM - Gabby is still stopped up, I was hoping over night she would open up, but no luck. She refused the juice, she ate a bit of the mix veggies that had prunes in it. I was giving her a bath and she started screaming and then I lifted her up, because i thought I got soap in her eye, but no, it was just that she pooped. First time ever in the tub and the poor thing is just dropping bits here and there. I sent the juice and the veggies mix to daycare, so hopefully they can get it figured out. I am going to call the doc here this morning to see what I should do. She only had 3 diapers yesterday at daycare, so that concerns me a bit, but she did only eat 6oz of milk.which normally she is in the 12 to 18 range.but she was nursing just fine last night.

Jess, I know it sounds ugly, but if the prunes and juice don't work, you could try with a baby's suppository. The kids hate it, but they usually work like a charm.

I was going to suggest a suppository too. Juliet's doctor recommended getting glycerin suppositories at the drug store and cutting them in half. He said it would help get things flowing for her. Good luck. I hope she feels better soon.

Here in Germany all medicine for the 2 and under set is in suppository form for the most part- which I actually appreciate because it works faster and you know they are getting the correct dose, and Teddy doesn' t mind it at all. One of the side effects is that they can also help with constipation- I didn't even think to suggest it though- great advice from the other ladies!

Hi everyone! Just stopping in for my every-six-weeks-or-so update! I read, just rarely post! It's been interesting reading about everyone's experiences with solids--Avery has only been lukewarm on them since we started.

Sarah - Congrats again on Sully! Glad you have extra hands on deck during that first month! :)

Other personals in brief - Hope Gabby starts feeling better/Selin gets the all-clear with the MRSA/Job situations improve!

AFM - Avery is 8 months old today! She's doing great. If we didn't battle with sleeping, she'd be a perfect little angel. Can't have it all, eh? :) She will have a couple of nights where she goes down at 8 and will sleep through until 2 or 3--heaven. But then there are nights like last night where she's up at 11:30, 12:30, 1:10, 3:00, etc., and I just want to tear my hair out. I think she's getting two teeth on the bottom and I would totally blame teething except that we've been going through nights like this for ages! I'm reading the No-Cry Sleep Solution, so hopefully I'll get some ideas on improving her sleep without the crying it out.

Other than that, she's great! She's not terribly interested in solids, especially if there is a spoon involved. But when I give her stuff to play with she tries like crazy to get it in her mouth. Green beans and avocados were both a hit.

She's not showing much interest in crawling yet. She rolls over but hasn't yet discovered that it could be a means of getting from point A to point B, so she happily sits and plays in one spot, which makes it a little easier on me! She's started flipping every which way in her crib, so I never know what crazy position she'll be in when she wakes up from a nap. We also signed up for a library story time and a swim class, so I'm excited for both of those!

And I finally got a new siggy! Yay!

Thanks Ladies. I called her nurse at the peditirician and she said not to worry since she is still pooping some and it's not hard, it's soft and squishy....she said her little belly is just working things out since she has been eating more solids. :) But I will keep the suppository in mind if she does become constipated.

Gabriella- We had constipation issues with David from when he started on baby food until he was a little over 1. We tried prunes- nope, juice-nope, suppositories- they worked but I hated to give them a lot. So finally the pediatrician gave him something (can't remember the name) and he had it once a day and it did get him to go. We would give him the meds on and off if he hadn't gone for a few days I would give it.

Just thought I would check in with everyone. It is hard for me to believe that Brycen is almost a month old already, and Lukey just turned one last week. I haven't had a chance to read the thread yet this month, but I am going to try and stay on top of it more.

Luke seems to be adjusting well to his little brother. Yesterday I took him out, just the two of us to spend some time just with him and Kevin stayed home with Brycen. I think that it was good for the both of us. Next Wed. he has his one year checkup. I am curious to see how much weight he has gained. He seems to be getting quite chunky thighs lately.

I really need to get a new siggy since my last one was from when Luke was 6 weeks old. Hope everyone is doing well.

Cheryl - It's good to "see" you. I can't believe that Luke is one year! Where did time go...and Brycen is a month already. Glad you were able to go out with Luke just you and him. I am sure he liked that.

Waving hi to everyone else

AFM - Gabby finally had a big poo this morning. I was so happy to see it and she is back to eating better too. I ended up picking her up early today because she didn't have enough milk there today. and she is eating a snack and lunch there as well each day....Hope everyone has a great weekend. I won't be around much this weekend.
