Hey gals - I just posted a link to my personal blog above, but wanted to share it down here as well. I stalk many of your blogs but have always been reluctant to share mine. From the left column, you can find the links to two
websites/blogs I work on professionally, one of which I think many of
you might be interested in. It's relatively new (since A was born), but I'm trying to increase traffic there and I think a lot of you might be interested in the content. I write a lot about breastfeeding,
general parenting stuff, work/life balance, healthy foods/nutrition and
do workout DVD giveaways as well. Feel free to let me know if there are any topics you'd like to see covered there; I'm always open to ideas. Here is the link to my personal one.
Grace - glad your trip to Mexico went well! It's always tough to get back into cleaning and stuff after being away, right?
Sandy - yeah, we just give him a bath as quick as possible and deal with the screaming. Funny enough, he's okay in a pool, but maybe because I'm with him? So glad you guys had a good trip, but too bad about the sicknesses :S
Adrienne - I'm ready to wean, but just sad about it, you know? Like, it's when you do something you hate for so long that you just hate ti give it up in the end because you worked so hard for it! YAY for James doing well with foods, and for making your first siggie :)
AFM - had a pediatrician appointment today and Evan got his six month shots. Now nothing until 1 year! He only gained 10oz, so she's telling me he needs more solids. Sigh. Not sure what to do on that front, especially since DH doesn't think he's getting "enough".
Sandy--Glad you had a great trip and that your inlaws were able to spend a lot of time with David!
AFM--We finally started talking to some people (my sister, some friends, my Dad, etc), about what's going on with DH's parents and the separation and everything.
Sandy - Looks like you guys had a great trip. David is such a cutie! I just took a quick look at your pictures and just had to say that I used to go to Hella's in Tarpon all the time! My family and I lived in the Tampa Bay area for part of my HS years and my friends and I used to go to Tarpon very often, esp. to Hella's for their amazing baklava. Small world!
Alyssa- David is 16 months and still hates baths. However, he loves the pool and as we found out this past week the ocean. I think he doesn't like getting his hair washed because after that he is fine. I don't have any suggestions because I wish I could get David to like baths myself. I just deal with the screaming.
Well we are back from our trip and had a wonderful time.
Alyssa- I think someone said this already, but I take David in the tub with me. I did it with James too until he was big enough to sit up on his own. Both of them have always really enjoyed bath time!
Christine- I'm hoping you get good news back from your interview!
Mari- I'm glad that all the AF troubles have helped you feel ready to TTC, I hope you can get everything worked out soon, it's no fun when our bodies don't act the way they're supposed to.
Ruby- That's so awesome that Maxim did so well on your trip! It's so fun when they start to get more mobile, he sounds like a real sweetie!
About BLW- I tried to do it with James, but it freaked DH out every time he gagged, so we did kind of a combo of BLW, and purees. I think it's just important to be flexible and do what works for you. Also, in spite my doing BLW about 80% of the time, James is still a super picky eater now, so it's definitely not guaranteed to make your toddler a good eater...
AFM- the kiddos are doing pretty well. I'm 90% sure David is cutting a tooth (I can actually see and feel it, but it seems like it's taking forever to pop through). James is doing great, he speaks pretty much in sentences now, and can say anything he wants to. Last week we took away his pacifiers, which was a little traumatic, but he seems to mostly be used to it now.
We went on vacation to Mexico with both kids, and DH's family. It went really well, both kids were good on the plane, and slept well at the resort and everything. Now that we're back (we've been back 1.5 weeks) I'm having a really hard time getting into the swing of things and getting on top of all the housework, but I'm sure I'll catch up eventually.
I can't believe James is going to be 2 next month. They grow up so fast!!
Christine - it must feel sort of bitter sweet being at the end of your student teaching. I hope it won't be too sad, but it would be kind of cool knowing how much your students love you! And wow about how much Selin is doing!
Mari - yeah, these steps are definitely bigger for mommy than Evan :) I don't think he cares either way! LOL! It's going to be WAY harder on me when he starts daycare, I'm sure. I'm glad Fede got better with the baths, because this is nuts!
Liz - We haven't used the baby bath tub for a couple months now. He's just so long that it was impossible to bath him! I haven't tried getting in with him. I'm going to try that next time I think. I LOVE all your new siggies!!
