I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread Adrienne:)

Teddy and I are both sick, sick SICK! And it is awful. We both have pneumokokken and something called the boca virus. Basically a flu type virus and a respiratory bacterial infection. Teddy has been sick longer and has been throwing up for days which I thankfully have managed to avoid but we're both been feverish and I've had an awful sore throat while Teddy has been coughing away for weeks. Just really miserable. DH has had to stay home yesterday and today which is a real problem with his work but I have been on antiobiotics for a day now

Oh Ash!! That stinks, feel better soon!!!

So I totally lost track in the January thread with our trip so I hope to start fresh with this month.

Wanna hear a crazy story? A friend of mine was pregnant with a girl and due February 16th. She was in our home town for a weekend of college hockey games on the 15th of January (she lives about 3-4 hours from our home town). Im not sure what caused her to go to the hospital on the morning of January 16th but they ended up having an ultrasound and they found TWO babies!! She ended up giving birth (one vaginally, one C-section), that day and has TWIN girls!!! The docs never saw the second twin during her other ultrasounds and they didnt know until she was ready to give birth!! Isnt that nuts?! The babes were 5 lbs-ish and spent 17 days in NICU.

That story is crazy!!! I would be so overwhelmed finding out that I had twins at birth!!!

I responded to your sleep question on your thread- but I have to say kicking isn't too bad, a friend of mines' daughter gave herself a concussion trying to keep herself from going to sleep!

These babies are definitely able to tell us what they DON'T want! LOL

A concussion?!! Geez...

Oh and he kicks now anytime he's pissed off, not just with the sleep. Definitely getting more personality and telling us what he doesnt want. LOL!!

Happy February, Ladies!

Ash - ugh...that sounds so awful! And to have both you and Teddy being super sick at the same time, right before your trip. Blech. I hope you both feel better very soon.

Ruby - OMG, surprise twins? I'd have a heart attack right there! I'm glad they were released from the hospital and that their family and friends are stepping up to help out. I'm sorry Maxim is giving you a hard time with the sleeping thing and that DH gives up way too easily. Fingers crossed it doesn't last long.

AFM - We're starting to get a bit confused about Evan's bed time now. Up until the last week, we had been giving him his last feed at about 9:30/10pm then put him to bed. He would sleep a bit between his second last feed and the last one, but he would always wake up to eat.

Now though, he's falling asleep at about 8pm and sometimes he wakes up on his own for his last feed, sometimes he doesn't (or we end up waking him up to eat). We know that he's wanting to move to an earlier bedtime, but we're not exactly sure how to do it, especially since he's inconsistent about staying asleep or waking up to eat.

I guess one day we'll just have to put him to bed earlier and see what happens. I guess what we're worried about is that he'll wake up twice a night to eat instead of once like he is now, but I suppose we should be doing what's best for him and not us, right? LOL!!

Ruby that is a crazy story... that's like my worst nightmare (and I am due the 16th as well). I know someone that that happened to as well... but her girls are 20 now, so that was before US were really any good.

Ash--Man, that really sucks. I was sick a couple weeks ago, but Peter missed it. I can't imagine taking care of a sick baby while being sick too. I hope you all feel better soon!

Ruby--No advice about the sleep, just (((Hugs))). And that's NUTS about finding twins at the last minute like that. That was my fear while I was pg...

Alyssa--Why not just move his bedtime up, and if we wakes to eat, feed him? Peter falls asleep around 8:30, then I take him to bed with me between 9:30-10 and change his diaper. He wakes up a little, fusses, then passes right back out.

Adrienne--I have trouble keeping up too!

AFM--Peter finished up an antibiotic Sunday for his second double ear infection since December 23. We go back to the doctor tomorrow to make sure they're actually clear this time, and for another weight check. Supplementing him has helped, but I still hate doing it. Making bottles is a pain in the butt. On the plus side, my milk supply has increased (but not my pump output?!). I keep doing breast compressions when he pops off and accidentally spraying him in the face. Oops.

Otherwise, he's just growing like a weed. A week ago, he could barely get his toes on the ground in his exersaucer. Saturday night, he was flat-footed in it. He's also trying to mimic us when we speak, so if we say "Hello" in the mornings, he says "Ehh Oooo." Sure, it's not a word in his mind, but it's sweet! He also hugs me now, and has discovered the cats. I'm just waiting until he's mobile and can grab one of them! My poor sweet Sam is in trouble. Alice comes running to him anytime Peter looks at her and squeals.

Liz - yeah, I think that's what we're going to do. We'll see how it goes! YAY for Peter growing so much! And hey, if you have to supplement, that's just the way it is, and it's obviously working great for him! I'm actually putting formula in Evan's bottles here and there just to get him used to the taste a bit because I'm going to have to stop pumping at some point.
