Name/DH Name: carly/rob

Kids names and ages: tad (robert anthony), 9 months

Pets names and ages? three cats, harriet (5), schrodinger (5), and naamari (5)

Are you also NPP, WTT, TTCing, or PG? If so, how is it going? um...i'm kind of just existing right now. we should have been TTC #2 at this point, possibly PG already if we'd had faster luck than last time. not likely, since i'm going on 3m without a period at this point.

How are things with you and/or DH? well, this whole being dead thing he has going on has put a real damper on our relationship. i feel like i'm talking to air all the time. (sorry, i can't resist a little gallows humor...makes it a little easier to deal.)

Give us a quick story and/or milestone about each of your kids! uh, i don't know. they all hurt as much as they make me proud. he crawls like a pro (started right before thanksgiving, so he was 7mo and change), shimmies on his feet along the couch, can get himself back down without falling about half the time. he has 7 teeth. he waves, but doesn't always get the timing right. and he's a champion sleeper (knock on wood). he's just a very smiley, happy baby. god only knows why.

liz i just gotta say...SHAME ON YOUR MIL. "i don't think this, i think that. he's not eating enough at daycare and overeating at home." oh? really? and you're a f*cking expert??

i can't stand nosy family members who cannot keep their unwanted opinions to themselves. i hope your DH put her in her place.

Hi everyone! Here I am for my monthly update. LOL. I'll try to come back more this month though. And in another couple of months I'll have more time again once I finish my course!

Again I feel bad, no time for personals, just a brief little update on Elena! I can't believe she is 19 months old. Her 2nd birthday is less than 5 months away!!! Ack!!! I'm not ready. I already feel she's been in her Terrible Twos for months, what's the actual age of 2 going to bring? LOL.

Her speech seems to be coming in leaps and bounds all of a sudden. Until just a couple of weeks ago she didn't really seem interested in repeating words at all, but now she tries to repeat quite a bit. She was trying to say "elephant" yesterday, and again

Quick question for you ladies...

I just took my last antibiotic pill (yay!) for the sinus infection I had and am wondering how long we should continue to abstain to make sure there are no effects on my protection with the mini pill?

My doctor said this particular antibiotic was not known to interfere with BC but if I wanted to be absolutely
sure, I could use backup. Since we hate condoms, we usually just abstain in these instances. With no mat coverage at the moment, we absolutely cannot afford to have an oops. I've been on antibiotics for almost a month now so DH and I are very anxious to DTD as you can imagine! ;-)

Well, usually this means you're "at risk" until you get your period; and then you're protected from the start of your new cycle onwards. I don't know if it's different with the mini pill now as you don't get regular periods with that - might be worth checking the information that's in the pack? They normally tell you how other drugs interfere with it.

Christine-Where are you in your pack? If I were me I would wait until the end of the pack since that is what my doctor always told me when I was on antibiotics. Of course the mini is a little different than the regular pill. I am so glad I am on the mini that thing messed my cycles up big time.

DH and I had a talk about #2 last night. I feel a lot better about everything. He said he does want another one but wants to make sure he can afford two kids. His parents were broke and still are most of his childhood and they never really did anything like go on vacations ect as they never had the money and he said he doesn't want his kids to grow up like that. I can totally understand but also I am worried about my age. So, I mentioned to TTC late next spring/early summer and he seemed OK with it. I am almost thinking it is better than fall anyway so I can totally avoid a fall baby and don't have to worry about skipping months here and there.

I'm at work right now but I think I'm on the 2nd or 3rd row of the pack. I'm still EBF so I haven't gotten AF back yet so I can't really use that as an indicator.

Last week I googled 'antibiotics and birth control' and all the sites say to use backup while on the drugs but made no mention of how long after. Ugh!

Anna - Haha! I laughed out loud when I read that story about Teddy watching the video, how funny! He sounds like such a sweet little boy. I wish so badly that all of us could get together someday and meet each other - it would be so sweet to see all our LO play! That was quite random, I know, but I often think that!!

Ruby - I AM SO JEALOUS!!! I know you guys will have a great trip - wow, good for you for planning this and saving so much BM in advance (250 ozs??!!). You guys are so lucky!

Liz - WOW, I (almost) have no words! Your MIL sounds seriously troubled. I wouldn't let her hold my child either if I were you. A mentally healthy adult would recognize that Peter is a GRANDchild, not her own child, and she should know her place. She clearly doesn't have any boundaries. I'm so sorry :( Have you and DH thought about moving (far) away from her? I don't know if I could stand to live near someone like that.

Kelly - Elena cracks me up! I'm just waiting for the day when Eliza laughs at things like burps and farts - DH is bound to laugh at (and thus reinforce) that behavior, so I know there's no way I can get away from it! How are you liking your course?

Christine - Sorry I don't know about antibiotics and BCPs... maybe give your midwife a quick call? It sounds like you guys will be TTCing soon! How exciting :) And we'll see if you prediction is correct! I suppose I could be pregnant by next December 31st...But probably not a lot sooner ;) But you never know I guess!!

AFM - I am off from school until the 18th. I'm loving it and trying to soak up every minute! Eliza and I have been doing fun things each day and it is SO nice that I don't have to worry about school work, grading, etc.! Having complete mental freedom from it all has been such a refreshing change. I'm trying not to think about the fact that I have only a little more than a week left.

Eliza's first molar is coming through and the poor thing is in a lot of pain. Last night was HORRIBLE (thanks to those who supported me on FB!) - she was just beside herself and didn't want to nurse, be held, be put down, read books, sleep... she finally exhausted herself and fell asleep at 9:15 :( It was awful. I've never seen her so upset and she NEVER doesn't want to nurse. I can see the darn molar coming through and it really does look quite painful. My poor baby!

Ella- I think about that sometimes too! All of us getting together and having a chat and watching the LOs play. It would be such fun.
Sorry to hear about Eliza's molar - they are right old b*stards and take forever to come through! I'm dreading Teddy's second set coming through soon, it must be about time now and I've heard they're the worst :(
