Jess - sorry about the cold! Hopefully it won't last too long, and hopefully you won't get sick more this season. Your situations with your IL's and DH sound super frustrating too! I'd be so mad if DH "faked" sleeping, especially since you took care of Gabby for the three nights before.

I hear ya on the DH thing. I mean right now I'm the one going to work while Matt stays home with Sloane. Yea I understand I nurse her and her bassinet (yea she's still there lol) is on my side and 99.9% of the time she stays asleep while she eats so it's not hard......BUT that .1% is rough. Like last night. Sloane REFUSED to sleep. Usually she wakes up, nurses 10-15 min, and goes right back to bed. Last night she decided she would only sleep well as long as I held her. So while I'm sitting in bed rocking her trying to get her back down it took every ounce of control not to wake Matt up via fist to face lol. I'm pretty sure she was clingy because she's growth spurting since she usually only wants Matt or I when she is but good grief I could have used a break. I finally just put her in bed with me at 3 so I could get a little sleep before I had to be up at 6 to get ready for work. Really though if the rolls were reversed I woudn't expect him t stay up like that with her if he had to go to work the next day.

OK so I kinda took over your rant. The whole point is....you are NOT alone. I wanna smack Matt every so often too :).

You are not alone. I feel the same way. Unfortunately for the longest time my son would not take a bottle from My DH if he got up in the middle of the night with him.

This story reminded me of a great book I read when I was WTT called Babyproofing your Marriage. It HIGHLY recommend it! Anyways, the authors talk about this exact scenario- "midnight chicken." LOL

OMG!! That sounds so familiar!!! LOL!!
Whenever Fede pulls one of those, I've noticed I start commenting out loud stuff like "shhhh, baby, let's sleep, be a good boy, mommy is so tired..." All in hopes that DH will wake up and at least be awake with me!!!

Haha DH also doesn't even wake up. So I really can't be mad-he just doesn't hear him. He'll go to him if I tell him ;)

My DH doesn't wake up either, and that's with Peter in between us in the bed. Kid likes to hit when he wakes up...how do you sleep through being pummeled by baby fists? ;)

Sorry I haven't been posting much , but this has been a hell of a week. I got sick on Sunday. I was sick both Sunday and Monday. I had to keep running to the bathroom to spare you of the gory details. Then on Mon night David threw up after what we thought was just playing rough with my husband and he upset his stomach. He was fine on Tuesday.
