I didn't add the new Moms in, yet, but I'll get to you!
Gah... those tickers made me feel old. Only Noel has kiddos older than mine.
To get us started for this month, how about a check-in!
Name/DH Name: Kate & DH Damion
Kids names and ages: Raymond 6.5 years
Pets names and ages? Cats - Sonic & Daisy (1.5 years), Dog - Dakota (1.5 years), Fish - Mr. Funny
Are you also WTT, TTCing, or PG? If so, how is it going? PG - half way there and going well.
How are things with you and/or DH? Good.
Give us a quick story and/or milestone about each of your kids! At 6 you don't really have your typical milestones anymore. What I can tell you is that Ray is in 1st grade, and he's a smart little cookie reading and doing math on a 3rd grade level. He is in a Saturday morning bowling league, and also takes horse riding lessons. He's looking forward to playing basketball in the winter, which he should like since he'so tall (50"). He's also signed up for Cub Scouts, but we haven't started meetings yet.
Name/DH Name: Ruby and Robert
Kids names and ages: Maxim 4.5 months
Pets names and ages? Figaro, our adopted cat...we think he is 3
Are you also WTT, TTCing, or PG? If so, how is it going? Huh...I guess WTT but not really. I dont really feel like I'm WTT...I have ZERO baby fever and not really doing anything to "get ready" mentally, physically or financially for our next baby.
How are things with you and/or DH? We're doing good. Going on a date this Saturday to celebrate our anniversary which is on the 5th. DH is busy at work but found out he wont have a full rec hockey season because the arena is behind on renos. They may play in January, depends on the league. He's a bit disappointed but he still has other tourneys he does every year. Me....I have a much needed girls day trip planned in 2 weeks including wine, shopping and good food in a town about 3 hours away. Every weekend in October is booked...we are so busy!
Give us a quick story and/or milestone about each of your kids! Maxim has found his feet which makes diaper changes really fun, lol. He puts them in his mouth all the time now. He also LOVES his bath and playing with all his squishy sea animal bath toys. He's been going to bed earlier recently, usually by 8:30 which is so nice. He was christened on Sunday and my parents were able to fly up for the weekend to attend and we had a great time all weekend during their visit.
~~Kate, those pics Ray took are super!! He looks so proud, I think you may have unveiled a secret talent in him! Good for him!~~
~~Christine..oh my gosh!! How awful of your MIL! I hope things clear up between you soon...enjoy your trip to Canada. Maybe the time away will give you both time to sort of chill out (I always use time away from family to my mental/emotional advantage, especially if I'm upset with them) and give her head a shake...hugs!~~
~~Anna, I love your siggy! Teddy is so grown up!!!~~
~~Sandy, glad DH is talking more about TTC #2. I'm sure it will happen for you on the time line you want.~~
Name/DH Name: Natalie/Amos
Kids names and ages: Amos Jr - 6 months
Pets names and ages? Calvin - 14 (Shih-Tzu), Dierks - 4 (cat), Brighton - 2 1/2 (English Toy Spaniel)
Are you also WTT, TTCing, or PG? If so, how is it going? We are NPP - will actively TTC around the beginning of the year.
How are things with you and/or DH? Things are great! I just need about 5 more hours in the day (when Amos Jr is asleep!!!) :)
Give us a quick story and/or milestone about each of your kids! Amos Jr will be 6 months on Saturday - I can't believe my baby is almost half a year old! He's crawling all over the place - it's hard to keep him contained. Especially since he's climbing over things, too. He just started pushing himself up into a sitting position last week. And he's growling all the time! I could go on and on and on...
Name/DH Name: Grace and Dylan
Kids names and ages: James 16 months
Pets names and ages? none
Are you also WTT, TTCing, or PG? If so, how is it going? PG- I'm 27 weeks, and it's going well!
How are things with you and/or DH? Great! DH is finally starting on the process towards finishing his pHD (still a year out at least) so it look like we may not be living in student housing until our kids graduate highschool!
Give us a quick story and/or milestone about each of your kids! James is doing great, he's started talking soo much it's crazy. He has about a hundred words right now! A lot of the are very unclear though, and I'm so used to all of his words being babble sometimes it takes me a while to remember that he talks now and I need to try and decipher what he's saying. Some of my favorite words of his are turtle, highchair, sandwich, and almond. All of the two syllable words are super cute.
I'm excited to have the threads back together, I've felt like a thread crasher anytime I posted on the baby thread, so this will be good!
Okay, it's a new month and I am going to strive to be a better poster!! I always read, but haven't had much time to post lately. I'm excited to have the threads combined and to get to know some of the other ladies of older kids a little better!
Name/DH Name: Cara/Jason
Kids names and ages: McKenna - 6.5, Delainey - 4, Tenley - 6 months on 10/6!!
Pets names and ages? Two dogs, Tucker - 7 and Bo - 10
Are you also WTT, TTCing, or PG? If so, how is it going? At this point, none of the above. I think we are D-O-N-E!! At least DH is. LOL. Of course he was done after our 2nd too.
How are things with you and/or DH? Things are okay, finally getting back into the swing of things since Tenley was bore I think.
Give us a quick story and/or milestone about each of your kids! McKenna is in the first grade and absolutely LOVES everything about it, especially reading. She's also just started the dance team and is currently taking ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop classes.
Delainey is in preschool and having a great time learning about letter sounds right now, I swear reading is just around the corner for her. She's also into dance and is taking a ballet/tap class right now.
Tenley is working on sitting independently, she can sometimes hold herself up for a little bit, but usually tips over. I think she's also teething as she's been a little crankier than usual and has been waking in the night again here and there. She's also been scooting pretty well, she pushes with her toes to get where she wants, slow and steady.
Okay, now onto some personals. . .
Christine - I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with your MIL, she sounds pretty childish and clearly doesn't have very good communication skills.
Kate - Please don't feel old!! It looks like McKenna and Ray are only about a month apart in age!
Ruby - Glad you had a nice visit with your parents and that Maxim is going to bed earlier for you! I remember what a huge milestone it was to have some time after they are in bed to just relax or get some things done.
Natalie - OMG, you have a little mover on your hands! That is crazy that he's already crawling!
Grace - I just love that stage when they are learning new words every day, so exciting. Make sure you get some of it on video because before long you'll have forgotten all about the way he used to talk!
Natalie--I can't believe Amos Jr. is crawling. I think you need a new siggy, girl, he looks WAY too calm and sleepy in that one! Hehe.
Grace--I can only imagine how cute it is to hear James say things like sandwich and almond! Awwww.
Cara--Is it mean that I totally want to see a video of Tenley falling over? LOL--I just think it would be so cute to see her "sitting gone awry"--hahah, I'm a meanie.
Kate--You aren't old, just Ray is. LOL! No but seriously, as our little WTTG's group ages up a bit I think our kids will start getting more and more grown up!
It is so cool to hear about all of Ray's activities--it makes me excited to have a "big kid" someday!
Ruby--Happy Anniversary! That is so cute about Maxim playing with his feet! :-)
Name/DH Name: Ella & Andy
Kids names and ages: Eliza, 10 months!
Are you also WTT, TTCing, or PG? If so, how is it going? I guess we're technically WTT, but like Ruby I'm not feeling the "itch" to TTC quite yet - we're just enjoying every moment with Eliza, soaking her up - I know we both want another, but right now we feel very complete... though I know it's temporary, the urge for another one will come eventually!
How are things with you and/or DH? Great! :)
Give us a quick story and/or milestone about each of your kids! Eliza was baptized (finally, haha) on Sunday, it was a really nice service. She looked so cute in her gown (mine from when I was a baby!)! Oh, and a quick second one... we had our first trip to the ER with our sweet girl. She'll be fine, but yesterday she slammed her chin against the coffee table and lacerated her tongue quite badly. I wasn't able to really get a good look at it until this morning, and when I did, my knees got weak! It was so deep and wide open, it was scary looking. I called and they told me that if it's "gaping open" that we should bring her in, so in we went. Even though it looked horrible, apparently it's something the doc says will heal on its own, and they don't often suture tongues. But the poor thing is in pain and her tongue is really swollen :( My poor baby :( So it's tylenol/advil every 4 hours and lots of cuddles. Seriously though, I can't believe that's going to heal on its own, it looks SO horrible. :/ But apparently the mouth is the fastest healing part of the body - who knew?
Name/DH Name: Sarah and DH is Dan
Kids names and ages: Desmond 3 1/2, Eloise 18 months
Pets names and ages? K-Line 8
Are you also WTT, TTCing, or PG? If so, how is it going? Pregnant! It is going well, we finally told my parents and now everyone knows and I am facebook public. I think my Mom is still in shock that I was able to keep it from her for 13 weeks! I am glad to have entered the second trimester, the extreme tiredness has ended though apparently the heartburn has started blegh!
How are things with you and/or DH? Things are good with DH and I. I think I am going to try to go out one night with him around Thanksgiving with just the two of us since my parents will watch the small ones for us. Everything is going great right now and he is a wonderful help with the two small ones.
Give us a quick story and/or milestone about each of your kids!
Desmond has almost weaned! He only nurses a couple of times a week now for 10 seconds in the morning. It is really weird to think he will be weaned by the 16th of October, he is still my little baby, but I can't handle tandem nursing two while pregnant!
In other Desmond milestones he is loving preschool, well once DH drops him off. He has a ton of fun playing and doing activities there.
Eloise is talking up a storm still, she has recently started making three+ word phrases she will tell me things like "Up me please." Or "Come me kitch." It is really neat to watch her language grow. It is also kind of interesting to watch her interact with the world compared to interacting at home. At home she is always on the go, talking, doing forward rolls, etc. When there are people around she gets really quiet and stays close to me or DH and observes everything going on around her.
