Hi Kristy Lee,
With DD#2 I bf for 11 months. When I was on mat leave I did only breast, but I waited a couple weeks before I would let her start getting the breastmilk in a bottle so that I did not confuse her early on. I pumped after feedings and stored up milk for when I went back to work and then at work I would pump and she got bottles at daycare, but when we got home I would only bf her. It worked out really well because she was on both with only breastmilk. I used the playtex bottles with the drop in as it was no real cleaning of the bottles like I had with DD#1 and the nipple looked so much like the breast that I think it helped her as well not get confused. Hope that helps!!
This thread is so interesting, girls! Good info to have...and very interesting to see the range of babies' preferences.
I *heart* this board :)
Hey Kristy Lee! Glad to see you back! Kaylee is gorgeous :).
Ry's on soy formula now. He BF'd for 8 weeks, but once I went back to work and he got bottles of EBM, he refused to latch anymore, so I EP'd until he was 9 months old, then quit and he drank frozen milk until it ran out this Monday and now he's on soy formula (dairy allergy). We're going to start introducing regular soy milk when he hits 11 months, slowly phasing out the formula till he's on all soy milk around a year.
Phew! Who knew it could be that complicated, haha?
