BTDT: How Long was Labor?

For people who went into labor on their own . . .

What was your first indication that you were in early labor or that labor might start soon? What day/time was it then?

How long was it before you had more regular contractions and would have considered yourself in "active labor"? What day/time was it then?

How long was it before you were in transition/getting ready to push?

I know you want responses from women that went into labor on their own...I never did but I write only to suggest that a normal sign for labor (water breaking) doesnt mean anything will progress normally.

What was your first indication that you were in early labor or that labor might start soon? What day/time was it then? I woke up Thursday morning with nothing, I went for a walk to start contractions like I had been doing every day. They were mildly painful, lasting 30-60 seconds and 3-5 minutes

Ooh, fun questions! :)

My back started to hurt really bad, like AF cramps (but not quite as bad), that was Friday @ 1:00pm

How long was it before you had more regular contractions and would have considered yourself in "active labor"? What day/time was it then?

By 5:00, the cramps were worse and coming at regular intervals.

This is just for Eloise since with Desmond I was induced, I did make it to pushing with him before the emergency C-section, but it was a completely different senario.

Thank you for the sig Mary

I didn't even know I was in labor until 3:00PM. I taught my 3rd graders all day, then on the drive home started paying attention to the pain in my back. I called the dr on the way home and stopped on the way home (4PM). I was 3 cm and told to wait an hour- dr wanted to see me then so I got to go home. I made it about 40 min at home before going to the hospital.

...see above- i got to the hospital at 5, by the time I was checked in a got an epidural it was 5:30-6:00PM and still 3cm
