DH and I keep talking about TTC#2....if we do end up moving up our timeline to this summer and I wondering how it works with TTC#2 while still nursing #1. I know that AF will return at some point, but I am up to 7

You ladies are so lucky that didn't get AF for awhile. Unfortunately for me, I got AF on April 27th after just having David on December 5th. I was one of the unfortunate ones who got AF during breastfeeding,

Thanks for the info, Adrienne and Melissa! I do have TCOYF but haven't flipped back to that chapter yet.

Christine, there is some information on this link: http://forums.ivillage.com/t5/Family-Planning-Articles-Info/NFP-FAM-How-it-works-Tools-Info/m-p/33165649/message-uid/33165649#U33165649

Do you have the book "Taking Charge Of Your Fertility" yet by Toni Weschler? She mentions in this article that she has an appendix on FAM and breastfeeding.

I don't know... it's been 2 years for me without AF and it's starting to freak me out!

Christine - To be Honest, August NPP still freaks me out a bit...we will see what happens when August comes.

Ella - I would actually love not having AF for 2 some years. It's been so nice not having it for the year and a half it's been :)

Erica - Very helpful info, thanks!

Jess - Yay for NPP in August! I'm so jealous. ;-)

Ella - Wouldn't it be wonderful to go almost two years PP with no AF? :-)

Thanks ladies. DH and I talked more about it since I posted and we are going to probably go off the BC in August and not try super hard and just see how things go...it will be nice to not have to worry about BC again...

We've done Natural Family Planning for our whole marriage (except the first three months). We'll celebrate 10 years this summer!! With the birth of each child and during each breastfeeding experience, I had to sort of learn the "new normal" for my body. So things like CM and CP were vastly different after Fletcher was born and then again after Jonah was born. I've never been very consistent about body temp. Mostly because we didn't wean between babies and we won't this time either (unless Jonah has other ideas in the next 14 weeks), and I was/am up at night several times. I think I wrote in another thread that some women see a solid temp pattern even without consistent sleep, but I wasn't so lucky.

Anyway...it wouldn't hurt to start temping to get a sense of what is normal for you. As soon as we were interested in sex post partum, I started charting CM. AF returned when Fletcher was 9 months old, and AF returned when Jonah was 15 months old. My cycles were very long for quite awhile, but I was able to reliably pin point O with only CM and CP. We got pregnant with Jonah and #3 using these signs only.

Good luck!
