here's the backstory for my question:

i was at my friends' place for the weekend for their son's 1st birthday party (his birthday was yesterday).

Evan's feet reach the back of the seat, but I still haven't changed him to front facing. It's kind of funny because he'll use his feet to manipulate the mirror I have hanging on the seat so I can watch him, and he'll use it to watch me instead!

Evan hasn't really seemed uncomfortable still being rear facing and I plan to keep him that way until he starts looking/acting uncomfortable. For now, it doesn't bother him, and it makes it easier for him to keep his toys instead of losing them when he kicks them forward in his seat.

Here's an article someone posted on FB-it has a lot of great stats supporting RFing as long as possible-and includes pictures of the suthor's kids with their legs bent and still rear facing at ages 2 and 4.
