So, I was doing a quick internet search to what the "ideal" spacing is between children.

I don't think it is that unusual, Ella--when people start taking hormonal BC, it can (IMO) bring AF back sooner than you might see her if you just waited it out.

Has anyone's doctor gave a recommendation for when your body should be ready for another pregnancy?

Ella- In response to what Adrienne said, I was one of the unlucky ones. I was breastfeeding and got my first AF in April. I figured I would go awhile without having to worry about her showing her ugly face, but no such luck. Not sure if it had to do with it, I went on the mini pill. My OB said you can still get pregnant while BF even though it is rare it does happen and I didn't want to take any chances so I went on the mini pill to make sure that it didn't.

I also got AF back 3 months PP but Maxim had night weaned himself by that point so I knew it was a matter of time. Now he`s back to nursing once in the night, dangit (for still having AF, not that he`s night nursing)

It's great to read everyone's responses. :-)

Has anyone's doctor gave a recommendation for when your body should be ready for another pregnancy? My MW didn't really give me a recommendation, she was just more worried about me getting PG again right away when I went for my 6 week checkup, at which time she suggested the minipill. I am lucky that AF still has NOT returned (going on 10 months now - hopefully I didn't just jinx myself!) Selin is STTN for the most part but she still nurses a lot throughout the day, not sure if that has anything to do with it. I'm trying to figure out how I can go off BC and use FAM when we'll be TTC #2 if AF hasn't returned by then. There are a few women in my LLL group who went over 20 months with no AF!

What were your family plans before pregnancy?

Christine, have you decided on your insurance dilemma yet then? Was there not an option to pay more and add maternity cover on or something?

Hi Anna,

Thanks for checking on me. :-) We're still trying to get the correct quote info from our agent - he keeps sending me incomplete info - so we haven't been able to make a decision yet. Frustrating!!

I hope you'll get it sorted soon! :) It will be nice for you to have a date that you can look forward to.
