Ok here is my issue. I work at home and I have had a babysitter coming to watch my son. I was working great. Now that my son is more independent he needs constant attention and stimulation. I can't give that while I work in the morning before the sitter arrives. We pay her $8.00 and hour and can't afford more than what we're paying her. We pay her $320.00 every two weeks. So I started researching home daycares. I don't want my son in a big daycare. It's just me. Well, I find out most of the prices are cheaper than what we're paying her for only 20 hrs a week. And most of those prices are full time. I only need part time (6 hours a day). So my dilemna is now I love my sitter but it is so much more economical to go with the home daycare. She didn't want any less than $8.00/hr. Once I have done my resesarch I was thinking of telling her the deal and I need more care for my son and this is what the home daycares are charging. I would tell her we can't afford to pay her anymore but need her to work 6 hours a day instead of 4 and give her the benefit of the doubt. If she declines then tell her we are going with a home daycare. Is that rude? I really like her and don't want to ruin my relationship with her and still want her to be my son's sitter if she chooses to. I also would have her watch my son evening/weekends no matter what. What would you do?
