Chiropractors for Babies

Ladies - a few of my friends have suggested taking Gabby to a Chiropractor to help with her ear infections. I am all for trying different things, but this scares me a little, but I am just not sure if it scares me because I don't know what chiropractors do for babies and only have my two experiences with them. I have heard horror stories (a co-workers husband is an invalid pretty much because of a chiropractor)...but I am sure they don't do the major cracking or adjustments on babies...and I have a chiropractor that I trust - the one I went to when I was pregnant. but I just was curious what others thoughts on this were?

Have you tried squirting/dripping some breast milk into her ears? I've read numerous times that BM is great for clearing up issues in the mucous membranes including pink eye, ear infections and stuffy noses. Also not sure if you've talked to her DC provider but have them sit her more upright when she takes the bottle if they arent doing it. Sometimes having them lay almost flat while taking a bottle can facilitate an ear infection.
Good luck with your decision. I'm really on the fence about it, I would need to do more research. Also maybe give your chiro a call and see what they think...some chiros dont work on babies so your chiro may not but maybe she sees the value in it, can reassure you and will recommend another person to you.
Some chiropractors have additional training to deal with children. The chiropractor I want to make an appointment with specializes in pregnant women, children, and infants - so assuming I like her, I would definitely take my baby to someone with that sort of experience. You can find a pediatric chiropractor (I think this just means they belong to the organization, I don't think there's any required training to be listed) at http://www.icpa4kids.com
We get James adjusted, and you're right, it's differnt than an adult getting adjusted.
We went yesterday, so hopefully things start to work. She gave us some Garlic Drops for her ears when she is fussy. I am actually kind of excited that this might work for her reflux as well. We are also going to start her on some probiotics, I have been taking some and the doctor said I can open one of those capsules and just swish the inside of her mouth with it once a day.

Thanks ladies! We are starting to take her a few times a week. the woman is really nice and gentle on her which is awesome! I am hoping that next week we can start going only once a month until Spring and then only when she reaches the major milestones (crawling, standing, walking etc).
