Ash,

Those bags are so cute! I remember having an Advent calendar as a kid. I saw one at a grocery store yesterday but it only had chocolate in it and I don't want Selin to only have candy.

So in Germany, they use bags instead of a one piece wall hanging? That's more what I'm familiar with. Unless we're talking about two different things? Lol

We have both but of course if you are making it yourself bags are easier to fill with different types of things and you have more flexibility in terms of size.

Thanks for the input, ladies - we're going to transition her to the big girl bed after the new year, I think... and Adrienne I'll KUP about what we do/how we do it! We're totally going to just play it by ear and see how she takes it..... not really looking forward to it, honestly!

Adrienne - I am so so sorry about the drama with your FIL's GF! I think I missed a post...? What happened? Is this all very recent? It sounds awful! I knew James' parents went though a divorce but I didn't realize there was so much going on with your FIL and dealing with a GF and everything... how hard on you and James. :( I think you're right to encourage him to visit without her, you shouldn't have to invite that kind of negativity and tension into your own house, especially when she seems so unwilling to forgive. It was big of you to offer to move on and start over... sounds like you are definitely being the bigger person here. GL!!!

Hi everyone... Still on my phone, sans computer (arrrgh!) so no personals. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. All of our visitors have now left and we have our home back to ourselves! We started the girls on solids (they're not that interested, and I'm pretty sure they think water in a sippy cup is the dumbest thing they've ever heard of). We're also starting an earlier bed time and a sleep training of sorts to hopefully reduce all the "my pacifier fell out, I want it back" night wakenings. We had their 6 month dr appt and their dr wants Elia evaluated by a PT because she's behind Jules in gross motor. I was freaked out at first but in the week since their appt Ive seen her make definite progress as we have made a huge effort to give her more tummy time, time in jumpy and entertainer, etc. So we'll see. Oh, and AF has returned. I hope the PMS explains my emotional state lately, I've felt uber stressed and cry at the drop of a hat. It SUCKS! Okay, guess that's it for my update/whine, lol.

Ella since I didn't have time to post this weekend. We transitioned them to their own bed when we night weaned, so around 14/15 months. That being said none of mine have ever been in a crib, so if they had been I might have kept them in it a bit longer.

Eloise currently tends to sleep in her bed until around 5am when she comes in to snuggle with me and Sully. Some nights she sleeps straight through in her bed till she wakes up as well, probably 1 in 3 or so. Desmond tends to wake around 2am and moves into bed with DH (we are not sharing right now because of me co-sleeping with Sully and him still getting up a bunch at night). We'll move Sully into the room with Desmond and probably put bunk beds in there when Sully night weans around 14/15 months most likely.

Hi everyone else, I am reading but don't have much times for personals right now.

As for us we got Santa pictures on Friday with my in-laws and spent time with my parents on Saturday and Sunday. They actually took the older two over night on Saturday to the hotel (our guest bed is dying and my Mom's back was feeling bad so they got a hotel room), which was nice, but since they took them at bed time, due to me, my Mom and miss Eloise having gone shopping for the previous 4 hours we didn't actually get any real child free time, next time we'll send them away around 4pm *grin*.

It was nice seeing my parents again, even if I just saw them 2 weeks ago at Thanksgiving and even with Sully and I flying down on Friday to stay with them to go to my nephew's first birthday. Which should be a fun weekend for me, 1 child, at my parents it will be a nice mini vacation. I feel a bit bad for Dan though being stuck with the 2 big ones for 3 full days! I have never even done a full night alone with 2 of them, let alone 3! On the other hand his parents live 30 minutes away so he can easy have them come entertain the two if he needs a break.

Thank you for the sig Mary
