Kelly that is an awful story!! I haven't seen the stories on the carseat board and I think that story will give me enough nightmares for now, ugh, how horrible. (Good to know, though!!)

So far we havent left it in the car for the most part. He often falls asleep in the car so I would rather leave him in it, then jostle him around to get him in a sling. Now that he's getting older, I'll probably start taking him out of it more when we are running errands (though I havent taken him out to the stores yet, DH has always had him at home when I go shopping...its my break for a bit to be alone). He is ALWAYS strapped in and never on an elevated surface. We also dont leave it in the car overnight, so its always in the house.

Hello common sense! Like using any baby gear, common sense and knowing how to use the gear properly is what really matters
