Do you ever just feel like a big fat failure as a mother?
Oh geez Erica, what a day you poor thing!! Well the one thing you do NOT strike me as, is an out of control kind of mom. You guys have had lots of adjustments to make lately, and with three kids at totally different developmental levels... well, I'd say you're probably in for more challenging days over the next year. I bet you'll handle them all great, just like you did this one. Giving yourself that time out to just breathe sounds perfect. Hey, you're only human. And geez, after that kind of outing, I probably would pour my kids a bowl of cereal for lunch and lock myself in another room for an hour.
Oh, Erica, I'm sorry you had such a hard day!!! Just like everyone said, there are awful days in every mom's life.
In my case, The first 5 mnths of Fede's life are a confusing blur, I'm sure my brain is trying to bury the memories deeeeeep down!!!. All I remember is that he could cry fo hours and hours, and I had no idea what to do!!! Honestly, sometimes I think that without DH I would have gone totally crazy....
Aww, I'm sorry Erica.
(((HUGS))) Erica!! You are most certainly not a failure and are just going through an incredibly challenging time right now. I'm sure the boys are still adjusting to the new surroundings and Charlotte's just being a baby!
I had a day like that today, had to give Selin her first time out, and two of them at that! It was simply putting her in her crib for a few minutes and closing the door because she was driving me crazy. Deliberately getting into stuff I asked her to move away from while looking right at me and saying NO! She was really pushing it today.
Have you found a church and LLL group to join? I think having other moms IRL to hang with might help too and maybe you'll be able to send the boys on some playdates so you can just have Charlotte to care for?
Hope you have a better day today! :-D
