i just wanted to say that i find it interesting...there are twice as many blue tickers as there are pink ones! just like our PG thread, lol. i guess boys are more common when women chart? we have such a huge charting community on WTTG!

I never thought of that with boys! Of course, I wasn't charting and we were actually in a waiting period when Ry was conceived, but it does seem like we have a lot of boys.

I'm half-remembering that I think you're more likely to have a boy if you BD on the day of ovulation whereas you're more likely to have a girl if the sperm wait around a couple of days before ovulation - something to do with differences in the X and Y sperm. I suppose if you're tracking when exactly you ovulate, you'd be more likely to hit it right on the nose, right?

Or maybe I'm full of B.S....haha...does anyone know?

Don't worry, you are right, apparently, Y sperms are faster, but live less, and X sperms are slower but live longer that's why, if you DTD closer to O date, your chances are that the Y sperms get to the egg faster..... at least in theory... We DTD 4 or 5 days before my O date and we are

There's also the fact that more boys than girls are born in general - I think the ratio is about 108 boys for every 100 girls, but not sure. This is to make up for the fact that boys die off quicker. They are more susceptible to illnesses when young, and once they hit puberty due to their more aggressive nature (willing to take risks etc) by the time we're adults the ratio is 100-100. Sad but true I guess!
