OMG I can't believe how much this thread has exploded. I keep putting off reading them all because I figure I will just get things caught up ;) but I finally have made it through most of them. On the Sleep thing: Gabby girl is up around 6:00 or before each morning. SOmetimes she sleeps until 6:30 but most of the time it's up at 6. I would LOVE for her to sleep until 6:30 or 7 since we don't leave the house until 7:30 to go to daycare and she eats breakfast at daycare. But she goes to bed between 6 and 7 everynight, so I can't ask her to sleep more than 12 hours. But if I push it past 7 then she gets up earlier. Anna - Congrats on the house! I know how much you guys have wanted to move!! thats great! Happy Birthday to two little ones! Katie - Gabby broke through 5 teeth at once pretty much, 4 molars and 1 in front bottom (and she just broke through another one) so I feel your pain.AFM - Just a quick update. Sorry I will try to update more with personals later. Our little one had her 18
DH and I took a class as part of our pre-cana five years ago, and ironically, at that time, it was over my head but DH totally got it! Now I can't believe how easy it is. I am lucky that I have significant O pains and tons of CM when I'm Oing so I haven't been temping yet but might start once we officially start TTC. I too want to avoid a Christmas baby but would be ok with a NY's baby.
I will say that you have to have a strong will power to abstain during your fertile window, even when you're "in the moment", but other than that, I think it can work really well.
Since I work/have worked for the Catholic church, my BCP has never been covered so I was paying close to $30/month. I have different views on the issue of late and don't really want to get into it here but my beliefs are very similar to Mari's. :-)
Charlotte's appointment went pretty well.
Mari- Thanks for the reissurance. Since you don't live in the states, you probably aren't aware of the birth control debate going on between our government and the Catholic church. It's part of why DH and I have both felt this way recently. Basically they were going to require all employers even Catholic ones free birth control and sterilization to all employees. Well, since the Catholic church is against any birth control besides FAM, it has become a big debate. you can find the details on the internet if you do a search on it. I don't remember all the details. Well the president backed down and said now they don't have to and it's because it's an election year and he doesn't want to tick off the Catholics as they are a lot of them and potentially voters. Anyway I really don't agree with the whole you can't use hormonal birth control thing but I feel like sometimes I am going against what my faith is teaching by being on the pill. Although I've been having issues with it since I"m over 35 now and also my doctors said it can raise my blood pressure and I should really go off. So I was going to only be on it for a few more months anyway but I'm glad I'll be off it soon. I'm hoping it'll help the issues I've been having such as dryness and my lack of sex drive. I never had that when I was younger it just was the past 6 months or so.
However in the beginning I went on birth control because my periods were extremely heavy and it was the only thing that would help. However, as I got older it was for birth control and not a medical reason anymore.
