Christine- I wanted to ask you did you take a FAM class or did you just learn it on your own? They have a class this weekend at church, just trying to figure out if we can afford it. I did some of it when we were TTC David as I was doing temping and monitoring my CM but since I had just come off the pill, it was hard and then by that point I had gotten pregnant. We have thought about it for awhile. Being Catholic I'm sure you know since it's been in the news lately with the BC issue with the gov't that they don't believe in BCP. Anyway we've kind of felt that we weren't being good Catholics me being on the pill. I know there are probably a lot that don't but it was always a guilt I had. And now that I am getting older and the whole blood pressure issue and then just issues in general with the pill, I have been thinking of going off for awhile but i had to get my DH to agree which he finally did after his retreat last weekend. I only pay $9.00 for my pills but it does add up during the year. Too bad my blood pressure meds aren't that inexpensive. I'm not sure when we will start "trying" if we aren't pregnant before a certain month. I haven't really brought that up with DH yet. Thought about asking him tonight what he says. I was hoping my original date of July but we'll see.

I really didn't want another winter baby so I kind of wanted to wait until after April but we'll see what

Katie- What a creep!! At least you found out when you did! I know dating can be rough but just hang in there and remember there are still some good ones left- and it is so much better to be single then to settle and be in some terrible relationship. I think we all know women who are miserable but just happy to have "someone" even if he is a jerk and doesn't treat them well- definitely not worth it in my opinion. Did you at least get a fixed baby gate out of it? :) I can't believe Z already has so many teeth!

Christine- I had heard that about Costco also for a cheap alternative for extra cake at a wedding. I'm glad it went over so well. My headache came from the pressure on my sinuses from being sick so there wasn't much I could do besides wait the antibiotics out.

Sarah- I bet the new fridge is awesome!! Fridges are much smaller in Germany so I am always impressed by the big ones in the States:)

Sandy- Congrats on the new TTC date!

Cassie- I liked the video! Although some of the comments just made me want to barf. I don't understand how people can have so much pent up hate.

Erica- How did her appt go?

Alyssa- Congrats on having a walker on your hands, and how cute that he is a momma's boy for now.

AFM: Day 3 on antibiotics 3 times a day and I am finally feeling good enough to get on the computer and get stuff done, which is great because DH is in Berlin today and I need to be at at least 80%!

Teddy is doing well, sleeping until 7:30 again now that the 2 new teeth fully popped through.

I just read the book Siblings without Rivalry and can highly reccomend it for anyone with more then 1. It is a very easy read and has some great ideas which I wouldn't neccesarily have thought of, for example instead of saying you love your children all equally saying that you love each one uniquely for who they are and that there is and can never be another person just like them, letting siblings in words say how much they dislike their siblings (at the moment LOL) instead of trying to sort of get them to say they love them all the time. Especially for me growing up as an only child it had some great tips and things to avoid. So I guess I am ready for two now! LOL (eyeroll!)

Forgot to add, the cake we ordered from Costco for Selin's birthday was DELICIOUS and so cute! For only $17.99 for a half sheet (feeds 48), you can't beat it.

The choices are a little limited (white with cheesecake filling (yum-o!) and vanilla frosting or chocolate with chocolate filling and chocolate frosting - we opted for the white one) but if you're looking to save money but still get a tasty cake, I highly recommend it!

Anna - Happy 3rd birthday to Teddy! I'm actually pretty calm about Selin turning 2, if nothing else, it's actually stirring up my baby fever!

Liz - So cute about "baerries". Sorry to hear m/s is in full force this time around. I gotta say that all you ladies pg w/#2 with horrible m/s are making me nervous to get PG again! I was nauseous with Selin but thankfully never threw up.

Mari - FX'd for your DH's job search. I just noticed you're next up in the PG chat! Eeek! So glad to hear Fede is continuing to do well at DC too!

Katie - Yay for Z back to STTN again! I cannot believe how fast his teeth are cutting. Selin didn't get her first two until nearly a year! Btw, do you have to return to work or are you able to stay home with Z for awhile longer?

Andi - The zoo and beach sound like so much fun! Selin LOVES the water and threw a fit when we went swimming at my mom's gym a few weeks ago and it was time to get out of the pool. FX'd for a good report for Elia at your f/u appt this Friday.

Cassie - That is so cool about your town making the national news! As someone who lives and works in a culturally diverse area, I'm glad to hear the new residents have been well received.

Sandy - That is awesome news that your DH wants to NPP/TTC sooner! I was actually going to suggest FAM to you earlier. We have been using it since last summer and it has worked wonderfully for us. We aren't even using backup anymore, just withdrawal or completely abstaining during fertile times. I'm even thinking about not going back on BCP after baby #2 comes because I'd rather not put the extra crap in my body when FAM is working so well for us, not to mention the cost savings. I know it's not for everyone, but there are so many positives to it that it's worth looking into. DH and I still don't have a set TTC date yet but I'm thinking April at the earliest so hopefully we'll be in the TTC chat together. :-)

Ash - Have you tried breathing in lavender for your headaches? I have a lavender rice sack thing that I pop into the microwave and put over my forehead. The lavender scent always helps allieve my headaches and I usually get nausea along with headaches. Hope you'll be feeling better soon.

Erica - Hope Charlotte's visit went well today! Thanks for the bday wishes for Selin. Yay for new mommy friends! Hope your LLL group planning is continuing to go well.

Sarah - Congrats on the new fridge! :-)

Alyssa - Sounds like Evan is making great strides! Any more word on whether or not your DC is closing?

PHEW! I think I got everyone. Sorry to anyone I missed!

AFM - I still haven't gotten around to uploading the pics from Selin's party but overall, it was a success! Everything went pretty smoothly and the kids all had a ball. Selin has had a bad cold for the last week but you would've never known it by the way she was running around at the party. I want to buy a cupcake for her to have at dinner tomorrow on her actual birthday. Unfortunately I have grad school tomorrow night so it will be a quick dinner and then out the door.

My DH has now caught her cold and is being the BIGGEST baby about it. Ugh! I had my monthly LLL mtg tonight and wanted to leave Selin at home since she is still sick and there are usually newborns there and my DH made such a big deal about it. I ended up coming home from the mtg early. Why are men such babies when they are sick?

My baby fever has been at an all time high lately. DH and I are still trying to figure out plans for the next year and I'm hoping we can set a TTC date soon. I'm hoping for April so that we can start aiming for a winter/spring due date. The biggest unknown right now is how long of a leave my principal will approve. I can apply for up to 22 weeks through my ST disability leave but I highly doubt she will approve me being out through the end of the school year because when I am out, there is no sub for me and I don't think they'd go without computer classes for months. I keep telling myself I can't obsess over every detail and whatever is meant to be, will be. As of now, I'm planning to return for this next school year but look for something closer to home for the following year. As much as I wanted to stay home, financially it's just not possible right now with my income and our wish list of things we want to do. If only money grew on trees. ;-)

Woah! This thread went insane over the past few days!

Anna - congrats on the house, and I can't believe Teddy is turning 3!!!?? How in the world did that happen?

Mari - fingers crossed your little girl won't be colicky or anything!

Liz - SO cute about the batteries thing!

Wake-up time: Evan wakes up for the day usually between 6:30-7am. Sometimes he'll wake up early (5am or something), but we'll bring him into bed with us and he'll fall back asleep for a while. He goes to bed at about 7pm most nights.

Waving "hi" to everyone! Sounds like everyone is doing so well!

AFM - Evan is slowly starting to walk more and more. He took his first steps about a month ago, and will walk from time to time these days. But, he knows he can crawl way faster than he can walk, so he'll usually take a few steps, then give up and start crawling!

He's also getting much better at communicating, though he doesn't use a ton of "real" words. He mostly points at what he wants. The other day, he pointed DH into the kitchen, then pointed at the pantry door, then pointed at the graham cracker box...so he knows how to get what he wants! LOL!

He's also being SUCH a mama's boy recently, which is super adorable, but sometimes a pain! It seems like anytime I walk out of the room...or even away from him...he gets upset. But, it's also really cute how much he wants to be around me and I gets LOADS of hugs and kisses :)

Hi all. Mine all sleep in at least a bit. They vary on when they get up, but generally they all sleep in to somewhere between 8 and 9am, normally around 8:30. It works since I am not a morning person, though on preschool mornings we would probably be better off if they got up around 7:30.

We had a lazy weekend, not much happened. We do have a new fridge arriving tomorrow, which is nice, it is a nice upgrade from our current, and it isn't dripping water inside. Since this weekend was a tax free weekend in Maryland for energy star appliances it seemed like a good time to finally replace it. We'll need to clear out the kitchen floor this evening and move all the freezer stuff downstairs to the big freezer and the perishables in the fridge into a cooler tomorrow morning, so they can haul the old one away when the new one arrives. I am so looking forward to a new fridge!

Thank you for the sig Mary

Ash, I hope you feeling much better very soon! Being pregnant and sick always seems so unfair! Rest up.

Cassie, very cool to see your town on CNN. It's nice to see a positive take on the shift in demographics. Moving to Florida introduced us to a far more diverse population than I experienced in my childhood in PA, and I think it is a great thing for our children to see and experience diversity in their daily lives.

Sandy, wow...what a step! It sounds like your DH really gained something from the retreat. We are not Catholic, but we do see FAM/NFP as an important part of how DH and I live out God's plan for us. I think the method can really bring you closer as a couple.

Anna, congrats to you on the house. The school situation there sounds fantastic! Only 13 children per class is excellent. And happy birthday to your little man!

Christine, happy birthday to Selin tomorrow! It's one of my best friend's birthdays, too.

Andi, sounds like your girls are developing beautifully. Glad you had a nice weekend. The zoo sounds like a fun outing.

Katie, yay for getting back to a normal sleep pattern!!!! Which teeth does Z have. As I said in my last post, Charlotte just got a top incisor bring her to 3 total.

Mari, time is ticking! That little sweet bundle will be here soon. Do you think Fede understands that a baby is coming? I guess he's pretty little yet!

Liz, awww...I love Peter's word for batteries. Over the weekend, Jonah wanted an "Angish Muffin" for breakfast. So cute. I love their baby words, and it makes me a little sad when they disappear. By the way, did you get the private message I sent?

I'm sure I missed people. So "hello" to the rest of the gang. Hope you are having a great Tuesday!

AFM: Because of traveling and then switching insurance companies, we missed Charlotte's 6 month well-baby appointment. Now, more than a month late, the visit is today. I'm a nervous wreck as always. We're seeing the same doctor that Jonah saw in January, but Charlotte has never been to him. I'm PRAYING that he doesn't give us a hard time about her size. She is a tiny little pixie, and I know she is gaining slowly. But she is gaining and reaching milestones. She is a very happy baby, generally content and lively. I know all these things, but as a momma with supply issues for three babies, it is hard not to be sensitive about the issue. If you want to send up some prayers for me this afternoon, I would greatly appreciate it!

We had a wonderful outing yesterday with some friends. We met another mom and her three kids on the bike trail that runs between our houses. We biked to a nearby playground and had lunch there. Then we biked home. It was so much fun and so nice to spend some time with a new mom-friend. I wore Charlotte in a wrap, and I pulled Jonah in a wagon since only Fletcher has a bike. Well, after our ride, the other mom offered Jonah a little bike that her middle child has out-grown. Her youngest is only 1, so he's not ready for it. Jonah is over the moon with bicycle joy!!!!

Unfortunately, we all got a little sunburned! I just wasn't ready for Florida sun in February. Oops!
