All- What time do your children usually sleep until?
Short post here but I"m really tired.

Jess- I'm so sorry to hear that Gabby has another ear infection. Charlotte had her first one (the first for our whole family) back in December, and every little ear-tug makes me nervous now. I know lots of children like your sweet Gabby who have multiple infections. Poor dear.Katie- I hope Z's sleep settles down. Honestly, I have had at least one child NOT sleeping through the night for 6.5 years, so I don't even remember what STTN feels like. I keep telling myself that the day will come. :) Glad to hear you found a potential sitter.Ash- Now I understand the no-homeschool law a little better. Thanks for the info. It makes sense. I was thinking of the same issue only in reverse. I don't like the idea of the "state" dictating the one-and-only way to think, but if there is real concern about "alternative" ways of interpreting history, I can see why the government takes this measure. Interesting. By the way, my DH LOVES the name Hector! He has rallied for it with all three pregnancies. It was never at the top of my list, personally, but it is a good, strong name...especially in your environment. I love Rosemarie!Andi- Yay for sitting up! Charlotte can sit, but as soon as she wants something, she topples over. It's so cute.Sandy- I hope David gets back into his sleeping groove.Elyse- Yay for William on the potty! Congrats! Jonah is still soaking a diaper at night, so I think we'll be using diapers at night for quite awhile. I keep reminding myself that he won't be taking Pull-Ups to college!Ella- Sounds like you and DH are having some good opportunites for discussing homeschooling. That's exciting. Even if you don't take that path, I think it is awesome that you are having open conversations about Eliza's education early.Sarah- It's great to hear that Desmond is reading, even if he has memorized the book. That kind of "reading" is a real confidence booster, and I think it will help his interest grow! I went to the Well Trained Mind forums. Thanks for the tip. I didn't know they existed! I registered as erica812.Christine- Hope you are enjoying time with DH :)As for my family: Charlotte had quite a week! Just this week, she started waving for hello and good-bye, and of course, we are all having fun getting her to do it. The poor girl probably thinks her whole family went looney with all this waving. She also started using the sign for "more" when she is getting her big girl food. Then, on Thursday night, I put her down on my bed to change her diaper, and I saw that a new tooth had come through. It was through pretty far, so I imagine it was there for a few days without my noticing it since it's on the top. Strangely, it's the left lateral incisor. Now she has two bottom front teeth, and this odd-ball tooth on top. I didn't even know she was teething.
Ash- I like the names with Theodor.
Well I just talked to DH and he says he isn't 100% sure on the name he likes it a lot but thinks it almost sounds too strong. However the chances are high that if we have a boy we will go with it. The name we are thinking of is Hector. German spelling would be Hektor. Although I think we might stick with the English spelling this time as Hector is used in Germany sometimes whereas the English spelling of Theodor is not used at all. Plus I think Hektor would look "too foreign" to most Americans. In Germany the name is not popular (thankfully- unfortunately Theodor is becoming really popular ARGH) but well known and I think quite nicely perceived- I know in the States it is a bit more you either love it or hate it but we don't live in the States so that matters much less to me:)For a girl possibly Rosemarie. Although that is very old fashioned and "grandmaesque" here so not sure yet but we would definitely use the German spelling and not the American, Rosemary. It would also be pronounced Rose mah ree and not rose mary but that is just the normal German pronunciation. We'll see what we end up using. We won't tell anyone here until we know if it is a boy or girl and we are 100% sure so that we don't care what other people think.
Sarah - I ended up looking it up because I really like the Eloise songs (and I'm like you, kids music is NOT my thing!). I actually don't know who the singer is (I'm so confused), but they are songs that go with the Eloise books...
The one I really like is #10 (Eloise, Eloise, Eloise).
Jess - Ugh, sorry about the ongoing ear infection. Poor baby!! And congrats to your friend for having her little preemie almost home! How exciting!
Going from memory - and wow has this board exploded.Ella - YEAH for the TTC!! GL and I Hope it happens fast for you guys. Emmy - That video was adorable!Katie - Awesome about the date and the sitter. That's great to find one close by.Darn...I knew there was more but I can't remember them. My brain is mush from work this morning.AFM - Found out why Gabby hasn't been sleeping and has been nursing so much. Yep another ear infection. We are trying the drops that we had from 4 weeks ago to see if those help since we are going to the doctor for her 18 month check on Tuesday.
So I started to respond to everyone, because I was feeling motivated, and Sully somehow restarted the computer!
