gerber flatfolds...

people heard i wanted to use cloth diapers and i got a whole mess of gerber flatfolds as gifts in the weeks before tad was born (including some from all of you wonderful ladies, thank you!). i'm finally getting to a place where i feel like i can start cloth-diapering without being too intimidated by it and got all my pretreating washes done, but now...how the heck do you fold them? just in thirds? they're all different shapes. some are rectangular and some are square. i like the idea of this origami fold i'm seeing online, but the gerber diapers seem like they're too small for it.

help!

Hi Carly-
I don't cloth diaper, but one of the girls on the May EC posted this link, which may help you:

I also saw your tatoo on FB and love it. (((Hugs)))

I don't have any advice either, I will be using the G-diapers, which are different then the ones you have.

But I did see your Tattoo on FB and I LOVE IT and I hope that your trip goes well. Thinking of you all the time.

i have some thirsties duos and some bummies whisper wraps, and a hodge podge of other covers that were gifted to me. almost all of them are snap/velcro though, just a couple of wool shorties and longies that pull on.

things are...going. tad keeps me pretty busy day-in-day-out. not a lot of time for grieving. a blessing and a curse, i guess. we'll see how well he travels on monday. i'm flying to NJ for my sister's wedding next weekend. but first i have to get through our anniversary tomorrow. i'm scattering ashes with tad in a few places that are meaningful to us, and then spending the weekend with friends and getting inked in rob's memory.

i see in your siggy that you're working on #2 right now...congratulations. and happy belated birthday to james.

I never used flat folds, but I did use prefolds, which I think are similar (?) Anyway, my favorite way to use them is to just fold it in thirds and then lay it in the cover. If the cover is trim enough, you should be able to just do that and attach it on. Do you have pull on pants type covers or ones that velcro/snap? I had velcro covers (thirsties, prowrap, and bummis brand)

It's great to hear from you. How are things going? You're still in my thoughts and prayers all the time.
