a quick question for all...how long did it take your cycles to go back to normal after pregnancy or weaning (if BFing)?

I will "third" that statement, Carly (and Suzie).

I think about you and Tad often, I'm sorry your body isn't cooperating right now - that's the last thing you need. You are always welcome and INVITED here to complain, Carly. We just want to be here for you and do what we can, even if it's just providing a space to vent.

Hey Carly, what you describe sounds similar to my erratic cycles. I've been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome... it's a syndrome so you may have all the symptoms or just one or two. In my case, it's the erratic cycles and the body hair (yikes!), but I've been lucky about the weight issues and the acne. Anyways, I digress... it wouldn´t hurt to see a gynecologyst, because to truly diagnose this you need ultrasounds and a couple blood tests. Another explanation could be simply that you are under huge emotional stress... honey, what you've been through is enough to mess anyone's cycles! And don't be ashamed to admit that you miss the sex with your DH... it was an important part of the relationship, and it would be weird if you didn't miss it. ((hugs)) and KUP about it!

Sorry you are dealing with this, Carly . . . and I would miss sex, too, if I were you (among many other things, like you said).

It does sound like you MIGHT be dealing with some polycystic ovarian issues or something--I don't THINK it is normal for things to get MORE erratic as time goes on--since it was relatively regular for a while there, there is probably something up hormonally for it to be taking so long to come back . . . then again, maybe you are just having a annovulatory cycle, those are definitely normal from time to time and they can be significantly longer than a regular cycle.
