Halloween Costumes!

Okay, so I know it's a bit early, but I am so excited to dress Evan up for Halloween this year! Last year he was only a couple weeks old, so we didn't do much ;) I'm not sure what we'll dress him up as, but I'm definitely starting to think of ideas.

What have your babies/kids dressed up as in the past? What will they be wearing this year?

I want to dress Peter up as a garden gnome, but Sean isn't sold on the idea. We need to figure something out soon!

Max is going to be a shark. We got his costume at Old Navy and they have that buy 1 get 1 75% off thing going right now, which is nice. IDK what Halley is going to be; we have to figure that out this weekend. She has been a ladybug (2005), a princess (2006), a witch (2007), Tinkerbell (2008), (can't remember 2009's), and a hippie (2010).

I was just at Costco yesterday and they had Carters costumes for less than $20!

I have a Little Red Riding Hood costume that I bought on clearance from Target when I was PG so that's probably what Selin is going to be this year. Last year she just wore a Carters pumpkin onesie and went to a few houses with her 3yo cousin. My moms group also does the swap and I think it's a great idea.

I also need to find a costume for myself this year as my entire school dresses up. I might just buy some cheap scrubs and go as a nurse. :-)

I found an octopus costume pattern that I want to make for Simon. I am going to attempt to make the little version and then go for one Simon's size. I guess we will stick with the water critters theme since he was a fish last year.

I agree, a picture thread for this years costumes is a great idea. So cute! My mom got us little onesie costumes for the girls... a dog and a cowgirl.

OMG - that turtle costume is soooo adorable!!

It's so cute hearing what everyone has done in past years! I'm still not sure what we'll do, though I did see a super cute tiger costume the other day. I'll keep looking and get something in October sometime. We should totally have a photo thread of all the costumes this year!

We are going for a theme this year. Desmond is going to be Luke Skywalker with a green lightsaber. Eloise is going to be Princess Leia with a pink lightsaber (yes I know she doesn't actually have a lightsaber in the movie, but she is 2, so we'll go with it) and Sully is going to be Yoda.

As for past costumes:

First year Desmond was a Turtle
Second year we were in India so didn't do anything
Third year Desmond was a pirate and Eloise was a pirate too
Fourth year Desmond was Buzz Lightyear and Eloise was a bumble bee

Thank you for the sig Mary

Last year he was a penguin and it was super cute, especially given his room is all snow babies and penguins are totally his thing.
