Name/SO Name or PS: Grace and Dylan

How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Is that normal for this time of year? It's soo nice! High of 56 for tomorrow. Our weather tends to vary a lot, so it's not "abnormal" per se to have such warm weather in January, but since it could be well below zero, it's a nice treat!

Little one(s) name and ages: James, 2 years 7 months, and David 1 year

What is something your LO(s) do that totally remind you of you? Hmmm, there are tons of things, but it's hard to think of them. James loves his sleep. That is totally like me. He's been sleeping like 16 hours a day lately, and he's still cranky when I wake up (i'm thinking growth spurt), but I typically feel like I could sleep an endless amount if given the opportunity, and am similarly cranky when woken up. David is tiny and SOOO busy, which is exactly how my mom describes me as a toddler. We both started walking before 9 months!

What new fall show are you still watching/did you love? I got my inlaws hooked on "next iron chef" and we all watched that. It's over now though, so we've been watching a lot of "chopped." I love that I got them hooked on the food network!

AFM- We've oficially moved out of our apartment and are staying with my in-laws until we move to Germany at the end of the month. DH is commuting to work about an hour away, but has stayed with friends most nights, so it's just the boys and I out here. My in-law's live in a tiny little town 45 minutes from the city, so it's a big change for us. James was pretty upset about leaving our apartment and all his friends and stuff at first, but he seems to have adjusted well. He is such a sweet and clever little guy. I'm really loving this stage with him for the most part.

David turned 1 last week! Can't believe it's been that long. He's been walking about 4 months now, which means he's in that stage where he runs everywhere at full speed, and he's constantly falling down/running into things.

What is something your LO(s) do that totally remind you of you? Everything has to be just so... she's very meticulous about

Hahaha, I just posted in the December thread because I forgot it was January already. Say whaaat?! Okay, serious exhaustion lameness over here. Here's my post, again. Now I need to go catch up with this thread and will post another reply for January...

Mari- wow, robbed again?! That's awful, I'm sorry!! Ah, labs are such great dogs though- even if they don't make the best guard dogs. :)

Christine- glad you have a plan to fight the MRSA. Has DH been on board so far?

Ella- THAT is hilarious!! Twiddling, ohohoh... that's the funny thing about BFing once your kid can talk I guess. ;)

Sandy- sounds like you're all on the mend! What a way to start the new year. Has David always been sensitive to onions?

Suzie- yay for an exciting move!! And yes, it's crazy-amazing how fast they grow up!!

AFM- we had a great new year and this week I started back at work 4 days a week. They're short days but even so, it's exhausting. The girls have, to the dismay of ME discovered the concept of boredom and require a lot of change of scenery, toys, and peek-a-boo to stay happy. Plus Jules constantly wants to stand up and she rolled over (!) so now she wants to practice all the time. Elia started saying dada and DH is trying to claim first word. Whatevah! *eye roll* Busy, but all good over here!!

Well hello again! Poking my head in for my bi-monthly check-in. LOL. Seeing some changes around here!

Ash - CONGRATS on the pregnancy! I can't believe all these moms I started TTCing with over 3.5 years ago are now getting pg (or have already had) another. LOL. I'm still firmly in the only child boat but am quite happy for the rest of you!

Alyssa - Elena started walking the day before she turned 14 months. It all came in a rush - she showed no interest until, like, 2 or 3 weeks before that when she started pushing a walker toy, then after she finally did walk on her own, she was full out running within a couple of months. A friend of mine's dd didn't walk until 16 months and you can't stop her now!

Amy - congrats on the birth of your twins! I've been visiting the board so infrequently lately that I recall you were pregnant but not with twins.

Lora - I'm with you in the terrible-two's boat! Elena started getting better a few months ago and i thought we were over the worst of it.... but noo. She's worse than ever now! I'm ready to pull my hair out some days.

Grace - I can't believe David is a year old already! And best of luck with the move overseas! How exciting and frightening at the same time!

AFM - Hmmm... so much has happened since I last posted. My mom came and visited and stayed for the entire month of November. It was nice for her to have that much time with her only grandchild but unfortunately the weather was awful almost every day. She has severe SAD and needs the sun to be shining in order to function properly. If she gets stuck

How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Is that normal for this time of year? We've had a really mild winter so far. I'm in Iowa. It was 50 degrees F one day last week and it's only really snowed once so far this season. Usually we have snow on the ground constantly from November-March so this is very different!

Little one(s) name and ages: Halley (7), Maximilian (6 months!)

What is something your LO(s) do that totally remind you of you? Halley will once in a while say phrases that I say. Max is really too young to imitate or anything, but his cheeks are totally a knock-off of mine. lol

What new fall show are you still watching/did you love? If no favorites what was the last movie you saw and liked? Omg I am a die hard Biggest Loser fan. I probably cry during at least 3/4 of the episodes. It's kind of ridiculous lol.

Thank you Kelly! I hope you get Elena's sleep issue sorted out asap! Do you do bath time right before bed? That always really tires Jensen out.

Kelly- my guess would be that this is just a short lived phase and to stick it out. I definitely wouldn't switch her to a toddler bed. She doesn't want to switch yet, and for most children their cribs feel like a really good safe place. I won't be switching Teddy until he starts climbing out.

If you think the waking is starting to become just a habit though, I would simply let your neighbors know that unfortunately it might be loud for a few nights but hopefully it will mean overall quieter nights soon. Then tell Elena that you won't be sleeping in her room, nighttime is for sleeping, and if she wakes up she will just have to try and be quiet until she falls back asleep. Haha- I know it won't work the first night, but I would then say it again when you went into her room, tucked her back in, and then I would leave. You shouldn't have to spend 3 hours awake in the middle of the night just because Elena feels like playing and I can't imagine that she isn't actually tired-I'm guessing she enjoys the power she has over you two and I think this type of stuff is actually pretty typical for two year olds. I know we also recently had a few nights where Teddy started crying and screaming in the middle of the night which was super unlike him. The first night I let him sleep with us, but after I realized that he was healthy, and that bad dreams also didn't seem to be the cause, I would only go in for a minute, give him a hug, and then put him back down. Thankfully it was over after about a night- but he was also clearly very tired. I think for him he had just gotten so excited during the holidays getting to see DH so often that he wanted get up and play with him as soon as possible LOL.

I hope she starts sleeping well again soon!
