Ash and Andi: It's funny how you talk about skin color... my two boys are so opposite when it comes to skin pigmentation. Just when you see their complexions side by side you wonder how they could be related (sure they have different fathers). My X was adopted so we have no way of really knowing what Ray's ethnicity is, but he is certainly getting darker as he gets older (complexion wise), I often look at him and wonder what could be behind his coloring, and wish I could steal some for Teddy who on a good day makes pale look like it has a tan.

Morgan - Sorry you have to deal with it.I have never had them, but I have constipation issues, so instead of taking a stool softener look at your diet. Cut out the things (like dairy - cheese, yogurt milk, and increase on the high fiber foods). I have to cut down on my cheese intake as it's my favorite food and I have found that since I eat Raisin Bran for breakfast, only have a little cheese during the day, and have

Christine: I am so sorry to hear you got rear-ended. I don't want this to sound like ambulance chasing or what not, but I would call a lawyer. Health insurance companies will fight your claims once they hear you are being seen for a car accident and want to bill the person that caused the accident; there is just so much paperwork and run around involved it's best to have a professional on your side. They can also get your compensated for missed time at work as well. Feel better.

Andi - as a mom of an 8 year old, if it's not one thing it's another... you never (at least not in the first 8 years) stop having first or milestones, but they go from "are they walking" to "oh what are they reading"... you just grow thicker skin as they get older and get more confident in your mommy-ability.

Morgan, witch hazel works well. Take a look at the label of something like Tucks pads. They have witch hazel. It is soothing and reduces inflamation. You might always have something of a bump, but the size will definitely reduce over time. Mine were horrible after each delivery but are practically gone now. They can come and go. Feel better.

Hey everyone-

I just have a slightly TMI question. I have been having "issues" for a couple weeks now (itching/bleeding) and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with hemorrhoids? I was in denial for a while, but I asked Dr. Google last night lol. I am definitely going to drink more water and start taking a stool softener again, but does anyone have any other tips? I also put some hydrocortisone cream down there, as that is supposed to help with itching? Do they eventually go away, or will I always have that bump now and it just won't bother me as much? I don't think I ever got them while PG, but now I am unsure as it's very possible I did and just ignored the symptoms. If you have any advice I would really appreciate it!

Andi- Yay for teeth. How interesting their teeth are about the same time too.

We went to the doctor for David's follow up and his ears are all clear thank goodness. the doctor said sometimes the infection can be stubborn. I told her I was starting to get worried as my brother had tubes when he was in 1st grade. But all is OK now. Hopefully no more sickness in this house. I've had enough with his ears and DH's pneumonia this year.

It's been a crazy week so far. DH is working the super bowl festivities since he works for a TV station so it's been me and David.

Thanks for the feedback on the interracial thing girls! I'm trying to get DH to ask his family to mail us some kids books in his native language too.

Re: shelter animals, I can spend hours on petfinder looking at possible adoptive dogs, it's terrible! (because we can't actually have a dog right now). :(

In other news: we have TEETH!! Elia's bottom middle two popped through yesterday and Jules' are right at the surface. Crazy... I can't believe I have kids with teeth! Lol.

Liz, we use a Gentle Leader! I love it. The vet recommended it when our lab mix was a pup, and it really helped.

Cassie--She's a plott hound. Peter yells "BACK" every time she jumps. He cracks me up. I've bought a gentle leader that goes around her muzzle, but just haven't had time to fit her yet. She did a little better yesterday. It's tough to take a dog to the ground when the toddler wants you to hold him...

Funny story: So, the cats killed a mouse and left it in the driveway. I had the dog on the leash, and she went to roll on it. I glance over, and Peter's on all fours about to roll on the other side of me. He was copying her exactly! Thank goodness he wasn't at the mouse.
