OK so I'm getting so excited about TTC. I figured out somewhat ideal timing- basically a two month window in which a baby would fit perfectly, haha and now life just needs to play along:)

I'm hoping we can start TTC in Sept ideally getting pregnant by November- nice big window right LOL

The positives to my plan are,
- I can fly with Teddy in Feb when he is still a "lap baby" and not be so pregnant that he doesn't fit on my lap
- I will get the summer baby I would like
- They will be about 2.5 years apart
- We will be able to fly to the States with both babies at Christmas and the ages will be doable for the flight (unless the baby has colic in which case we are just screwed LOL)
-DH will still be able to do all his yearly trips without it interfering with the baby's birth or the hard first few months

The negatives are:
So far DH isn't convinced, he loves Teddy at this age and isn't sure about going through all the baby stuff again so soon.
-I also am not sure about doing the whole newborn stage again. I mean Teddy wasn't sleeping through until 9 months! I mean 9 whole months without a full night's sleep sounds awful and now I can't imagine having to get up in the night. I mean those first weeks you are barely sleeping, just thinking about it now makes me cringe LOL.

But my baby fever is starting to hit so I bet the positives will end up winning out. Plus since DH is on board for two I think he doesn't need that much convincing to space them a bit closer then he originally wanted, especially when I show him my list.

I just had to share and since I am visiting my mom right now and all my friends here are child free and totally wouldn't get my excitement, I thought I would share here:)

How exciting, Ash! Your list sounds very sound to me. Hope you get your summer baby!

I keep calculating in my head if I get PG in month X, baby will arrive in month Y. I wouldn't mind another late winter baby. I just really would rather not be hugely PG in the summer. I'm not a fan of summer as it is - I hate being sweaty and my hands always swell. The only downside to another late winter baby is that on both sides of our families, about 90% of the birthdays fall in Jan-Apr so it would be nice to have some to celebrate the rest of the year, lol.

I'm so glad we have this outlet to talk about this stuff. I only have one friend who will be TTC #2 soon - the rest are either done with kids or PG with #1.

Man, that would be my ideal summer weather!

She is ok. She didn't want to eat dinner, very unusual for her, so she played while we ate and later I was able to get her to eat some cheese and crackers. She spiked another fever, 101/102, so it took awhile to get her to sleep tonight. I was so wiped from trying to take work calls and juggle her. She was so clingy/whiney today and wanted to be in my lap constantly. Of course tonight is one of the nights DH has school so the only break I got today was while he was home fir like 20 min for dinner. Bedtime couldn't come soon enough. :-)

Sounds like i nice plan Ash. I hope it works out for you.

My baby fever is starting to kick up again. Our original plans are so up in the air with everyhing right now. Life can be so frustrating sometimes.

A gal i worked with in the store got promoted to my level in another store. She just had a baby in March. She has already decided this job is not family friendly and landed another one. I am happy for her but so jealous at the same time.

Ash- I am with you. All of a sudden the past few days my baby fever has started again too. Of course DH is nowhere on board right now. I think he's having issues with David being into everything and even thinking of having another baby scares him.

Of course my TTC date is way off right now. However, I thought about seeing if he would want to try sooner but I doubt it. The reason I went for May of 2012 are one of two reasons. I don't think DH would go for it sooner and then also we don't want a baby in November-January. So if we start when David turns 2 in December we would only have December and January to TTC and then we would have to stop for 3 months and resume in May. Instead I figure we just wait until May. We don't want another holiday baby and don't want birthdays two months in a row. Also, our debt that is pd off in October 2012 it will be done even if I would get pregnant in May and we would have time to buy a new vechicle. We plan on buying a van before baby #2 arrives.

So, my annual with my OB is in September so I think after I have my appt I will tell my DH what she said and maybe we can sit down and talk about a timeframe and I will tell him what my wishes are. I don't want to wait much longer than we already are because of my age. I will be 36 in September. I am sure my OB will stress that at my annual. I also don't want them too far apart either.

I think when it comes to sleep there is never one right answer. A lot depends on what you are comfortable with, what your child is like, and what your end goal is in terms of sleep.

My biggest thing is, if you are happy don't change it! Don't worry about co- sleeping, or the baby sleeping in a car seat or a swing or whatever else.

However once you get to a point where things aren't working for you, you have to decide what you need and then try to figure out the best way to get there, and then commit to a plan wholeheartedly for at least a week or so. Then you can reevaluate and decide if it worked for you or not really at all.

Once Teddy hit 4 months we began seriously sleep training which for us meant closely watching wake times and always putting him down after he had been awake for 1.5- 2 hours during the day. We also switched him to his own room then but he was AWFUL at co-sleeping and even to this day still sleeps really poorly if we put him with us so I think that was definitely his temperament.

I really enjoyed the book Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child. But I also found a ton of practical and helpful advice on another internet forum. There is a super great introductory post (click for link here) where one of the moderators explains her methods which draw on all the great sleep books. So you might want to check it out, I found myself asking lots of questions there until Teddy was doing really good sleeping through.

Plus a lot of times it is a just phase and will get better just when you are ready to tear your hair out! I hope Juliet starts sleeping better soon:)
