So sorry about the tearing Lora, that sounds really painful. I'm sorry everything didn't go as you planned, but it sounds like you handled it all pretty well, and Lillian is happy and healthy so that's great. Good job mama!! Can't wait to see more pictures and stuff. Thanks so much for sharing your story.
Thanks for sharing your birth story Lora!! Sounds like it was quite the experience with the Mag side effects but I'm glad everything went as well as can be expected and so happy that your little girl is here! Congrats again!
Lora, thank you so much for sharing Lillian's birth story. I read every word, and you could have written more :) I'm sorry about the Mag, tearing, etc., but it sounds like you made the right decisions for you and your baby. I hope BF'ing gets easier, and that you both stay happy and healthy!
Lora it sounds like you did an amazing job during the birth!!! I mean you dealt with so many curve balls- no staff in the birth center, nurse who hasn't done a natural birth in forever, magnesium sulfate, IV fluids, etc and you were still able to push little Lillian out, even though she decided to put her arm by her head and the epidural had probably worn off:) Also how wonderful that your DH really stepped up to the plate!
I can't wait to see more pictures and I hope that breastfeeding gets easier:) Congrats again!!!!
Thank you for posting your birth story, Lora! I loved reading every word. It sounds like the mag really messed with your labor :( And you poor thing - you couldn't eat for 24 hours after she was born??!! That's so long! Hope you are healing and not in too much pain. I found that it took about three full weeks before my bottom felt back to normal... post more pics of Lily when you can!!
Way to go, Mama - you made it through to the other side and you have a beautiful baby girl!
What a great story, and it wasn't long at all. :) You did a terrific job considering the bumps in the road. I agree, contractions are nothing compared to being told to breathe through one, when all you want to do is PUSH! Hope for a speedy recovery from the tearing, and the lactation nurse can help you out. Enjoy your baby girl!
What a beautiful birth story, even with being thrown those curve balls. Breastfeeding should get better and your nipples really will toughen up. Along with Lansinoh cream, I highly recommend these: http://www.amazon.com/Original-Comfort-Aid-Breast-Pads/dp/B001B48C5O You can put them in the fridge to chill them and they did help with the early latch problem discomfort. You do have to wash your breasts after use with these, but it did help.
Lora Thanks for sharing your birth story. I know it didn't all go the way you wanted, but I am very happy you have a healthy baby girl. A story doesn't seem long when it is one you want to hear.
Lora, thanks for posting! I love to read birth stories :-) You did so well, despite the rocky road you were on, I think it's absolutely fantastic that you still had a natural birth; well done! The tearing sounds painful though so I hope it will all heal well.
