Copied from the pregnancy thread-

We're having a Ferdinand :D :D We geniunely wanted both another boy and a girl so of course there were some sad feelings mixed in with the joy, but that would have been the case either way. We also just recently talked again about 2 or 3 and both of us are becoming much less fixed in our position. We are just going to see how things go with 2 and whether we really want the added expense, to put in the additional time, etc when it comes to a third in a few years. So I might still have my girl but either way I am very pleased to be giving Teddy a little brother :D

Sorry for the multiple posts- I am posting from my phone and keep hitting post accidentally!
I started my new job this week. It's okay so far. I'm the third teacher these kids have had this year. Apparently, the last two didn't have certification and got fired. I'm attempting to figure out what in the world to do since there's no record of what's been taught really. I just keep reminding myself that I only have to do this until June and then I can either start a new year or start a new job. At this point, I'm not sure what I'm hoping for, it's just too crazy!

We might have a renter for our house! please keep your fingers crossed for us. It's been such a long
road and we are really hoping this will work out.

Grey is adjusting to his new school amazingly well. He loves his teacher and hugs his friends before he leaves. I'm not thrilled that they use videos during "transition times," and was shocked to see the teacher have a video turned on while the kids lay on their nap mats. I spoke to both the teacher and the director and they say the tv is only one for 5-10 minutes at a time. We don't really allow Grey tv time. He's probably watched an hours worth total prior to going to this school and this is how we prefer it. Do your daycare providers use tv? How much? How often? Do you think I'm overreacting by putting him on a waiting list for a school that does not allow tv?

Yeah Grace, as Teddy gets older I really start to look at it more practically. I mean I have no doubt in my mind that we would love a third but at the same time it would mean so many adjustments and changes and especially here in Germany where 3 is quite uncommon it would require a lot of extra effort on our part and I am not sure we really are up to that. Thankfully we are young and have lots of time to decide. I wouldn't want too big a gap but I wouldn't have an issue if the last 2 were 3-4 years apart because it took us that long to decide :)

Suzie- I hope everything works out with renting out your house! While we do let Teddy watch some TV at home, I wouldn't be happy with our daycare having TV. I think as soon as you have 3-4 kids running around it is easy enough to keep them happy and distracted without TV.

Christine- I hope Selin is doing better and you get your nice date night on your anniversary.

Katie- I am glad you are feeling a bit better! Teddy also "puts himself" to bed. After we sing Twinkle Twinkle and turn out the lights he checks to see if his night light turned on and then he walks to his crib and waits for us to put him in. It is really adorable :)

Yeah for a little boy, Ash!

Suzie--We do let Peter watch TV at home, but I feel strongly that if I'm paying a center to watch him, they don't need tv. He's there for socialization and interaction. I would also be concerned that the tv is on while they're resting. That would be my biggest issue. That said, our center doesn't have TV in any of the rooms.

Ash congrats on a little boy.

Suzie: We watch TV at home, but at our preschool, which is also a full time daycare/preschool, there is no TV. While I don't mind putting the tv on at home, since I know exactly what my kids are watching, if I am paying someone else to watch them then I don't want the tv on. They really should be able to do transitions without tv, in fact tv on only for transitions would backfire with Desmond and possibly Eloise, because they would have a fit if it was turned off in the middle if they were actually watching and wanting to see what happened next.

Thank you for the sig Mary
