(I just edited my intro. I thought we were listing what we say to our SO most often not our LO. These internet abbreviations!)

The only nights I have been away from my boys were when I was in the hospital with their newborn siblings! We were going to do an "overnight" last summer before Charlotte was born, but it never happened. We never do it because both boys didn't STTN until they were 3 years old, and then a new baby was in the picture! I would LOVE a getaway. :)

Okay I'm totally jealous of all the overnights so many of you ladies have already had!! I'll admit I am nervous about how it's going to go for my parents and for Eliza. Since Eliza still doesn't sttn consistently (er, ever, lol), thinking about doing an overnight has always sort of made me feel bad that I would be burdening my parents with a night of little sleep. But finally, my (and DH's) need for a night away outweighs that, lol. They will be totally fine, I know. Everyone may not get as much sleep, but that's okay, and it will be good for all of us (especially ME!!!). Heheh.

I'll let you all know how it goes! We don't have a lot of plans - we are staying in a nice hotel downtown and I know we'll go out for dinner and then order room service for breakfast, but otherwise we're just going to do whatever we want WHENEVER WE WANT! :) :) :)

How old is/are the LOs: almost 18 months

Any new milestones or fun stories: Peter jumps now, with both feet off the ground. He'll also march and walk like a sumo wrestler when we ask him too. Last night he decided to "sneak" and eat some cat food. He walked up to me, showed me, turned around and stuck it in his mouth, then looked at me again and opened his mouth to show me. Natural consequences and all, I let him eat it. Five minutes later, I heard spitting and "YUCK!" Then he got a towel and cleaned up his mess.

Words that you find saying most often to your LO(s): "If you have to use your hands to keep it in there, you've put too much in your mouth." That's my favorite. How can a toddler fit a whole strawberry in there??

Favorite part of March: This year? Daylight savings. I hate it getting dark so early.

What’s your favorite indoor and outdoor activity?: Indoor: reading, baking, knitting. And napping. :) Outdoor: just being outside. Allergy season is starting though, so it's about to get hard for me.

I have yet to have a night away from Peter, and I figure the first time will be when #2 comes along. Even then, I plan to send DH home when they make us leave the hospital and bring him back the next morning. I've taken him to girls' weekends, to a work conference, and we'll being going to a conference in New Orleans in June. DH gets to come to that one, instead of my mom.

Heck, last Saturday was the first time during the weekends I've left him for more than an hour. I've taken days off work and sent him to daycare, but never left on the weekend. It wasn't my favorite.

Ella you will be fine, she will be fine too. Really.

That being said I haven't had a night alone without any child around. I have had many a night with just one child, but we none with no children. Maybe this summer I'll let Sully spend the night with my parents and have a night out with just me and Dan. Since Sully is still nursing at night and under 1, I don't really want to leave him alone overnight yet anyways.

That being said Iove the nights when either one of the older ones or both of them are gone, though they are fairly rare. My in-laws are going to start having sleep overs once a month with one of them, so one month Desmond the next month Eloise. My mom is also planning on flying down to Atlanta for a few days with Desmond and Eloise and letting me, Dan and Sully follow this summer, which will be fun for everyone. I don't really expect to have a night with no kids until Sully is closer to 2 though. Then I can leave them all with my Mom and go.

Ray's been gone overnight, around 4 or 5 my mom starting taking him on vacation (at least) once during the summer. And then he was with my mom while we had our honeymoon as well. My mom takes all of the grandkids on vacation (all at once) once they are potty trained. This year 3 of the grandkids are going, and my mom, aunt and their friend rented a house. I think Damion and I will take Teddy out to stay with them for a night as well, they certainly have the room.

The occasional break is nice, even if we still have Teddy at home with us while Ray is out. It's amazing how you can do different things with just the 1 baby and not have to worry about the older child.

Ella and Christine, good luck with your first nights away. That seems strange to me that you have not been away from your girls and they are 2. Not bad just odd considering I spent so much time away from Simon with work. He has also spent a few nights with my folks since moving down here to give me a break. I love my son but I also need some human time. How odd that your DH Christine is worried since he just spent two weeks away from her!
